MORRELL FLOOR COVERING

Working with this company has been a total nightmare. This company failed to properly install any products and refuses to remedy the issues. Morrell Floor Covering was hired to install a karndean k-trade plank floor in my basement rec room in April of 2013. The installation was not done properly and I complained. The manufacturer sent out a representative who deemed that the adhesive spread was not sufficient to adhere the floor. The company only offered to remove and replace the few planks that were coming up. However, based on the improper installation, I would like the floor replaced as I do not wish to deal with this for the remainder of the time I own my home due to their improper installation. In addition, they were hired to install a granite countertop. The countertop was in three pieces. Each were of different thicknesses. The seams of the counter were more than 1/4" and the edges were sharp. The counter was shimmed in spots and was not level, so the space in the joints was even more pronounced. The space from the edge of the cabinet to the edge of the granite varied in length between 1/2" and 3" and the distance from the back wall was 1" or more in several places. This prevented installation of the refrigerator and stove. Also, the installation damaged my walls and cabinets. Neither the sink nor the dishwasher were attached to the cabinets and the countertop was not secured in any way. The hole for the faucet was off-center. The installed, Carl, explained that this was his completed product. The only thing he could do was to sand the edge and make the offset between the three pieces less noticeable. I stated that this was unacceptable. The onwers of Morrell floor covering came out and took pictures and communicated that the granite counter was complete and the installation was acceptable. Finally, they were also hired to re-tile my basement bathroom. Despite paying to level the floor, the tiles are uneven and are a tripping hazard. The tiles around the base of the shower are chipped and the trim at the top is poorly cut and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, as they have drug their feet for nearly ten months, all have been or will need to be completely removed and replaced. The countertop has been removed and another vendor has replaced the counter to industry standards and to our satisfaction. The tile flooring will need to be removed and re-leveled. The basement flooring will all need to be torn out and re-done as the adhesive has cured and the material cannot be salvaged any longer. I have attempted to dispute a portion of the charge with my credit card company with little success. Upon a "site visit" in the beginning of January, Kandy Morrell informed me that she would contact me within a few days. Over thirty days later, I had not been contacted. Upon making contact with Morrell Floor covering on 2/13/2014 Kandy told me that there was nothing they would do and referred any further complaints or questions to their attorney. They refuse to address any complaints or problems.

They have always done an excellent job.
