+ -1 moreEven though the house we are renting is very nice with great appliances, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Every time we have a maintence request we have to go through the real estate agent, whe then calls the owner for approval, who then contacts a maintence guy. It always takes a day or two longer than they say it will, and if I had a job outside of the house, it would be a nightmare to coordinate shedule wise. Another point of contention for us is the empty garage on the property that the owner is obviously not using, but refuses to let us park in. Just out of spite I think. Just look at the above story to get an idea of what kind of person she is.
Description of Work: Think really hard about how important your privacy is to you before you rent from Stambaugh Rentals. The owner of the units apparently thinks she still lives in all of them and can enter them at will, even though there is a clause in the rental agreement that says the owner can only enter the premises for maintence and inspection. I woke up yesterday morning to the owner entering my bedroom with her friends that she was giving a tour to. She didn't call first and she just let herself in. She left in a hurry when she realized I was there, and let's face it, I could have been doing any number of things that would have been more embarassing to us all than sleeping. I still feel my privacy was completely violated and I will never be completely confident again that she won't just show up whenever she pleases. And apparently she felt that this didn't even warrant a personal phone call of apology--she had the real estate agent that manages the property call and apologize for her, even though through him it sounded completely insincere with excuses about how she just wanted to show her friends how nice the place was. I would absolutely advise against using Stambaugh Rentals to anyone looking for housing in Madison.
