Description of Work: I have a 'low boy' toilet which is rather dated but still works fine. It started running so I called Byrco. The young man came on time, communication was good. He said he fixed the problem and then left. I noticed later that the toilet was running again so I called them back. The owner came as soon as he left the job he was working on and fixed the problem.

 + 0 moreA technician came out to replace a thermostat in my home. The labor charge was $85. The thermostat charge was $150 for the exact model thermostat you can buy online in numerous places for $70. I have *no* problem with paying labor, or an extra service charge (it was after 5pm). But $235 to replace a thermostat seems incredibly excessive and I will not use this company again.
Description of Work: Replacement of thermostat on gas furnace.

Description of Work: They repaired an outdoor faucet and plumbed up a new kitchen sink.

 + -1 moreWent perfect. They responded within two hours of my original call. When the representative saw that I was without a sewer line he said they would do the job immediately which they did. I called at 9:00 A.M. Had an estimate by 11:00 A.M. Work began at 1:00 P.M. Additional workers were called in at 3:00 P.M. Work was completed by 6:30 P.M and the owner did not charge more than the estimate even though the job ended up being about 2.5 times more work than was originally thought.
Description of Work: Replaced sewer line. Originally thought it would be an easy outdoor dig and replacement. Gave estimate for $1500 (another local plumbing firm gave an estimate of $4300). The sewer line did not follow the expected path. Had to abandon old sewer line and dig trench in crawl space, drill through foundation, dig much longer trench outdoors, make a new hookup to existing indoor sewer line. When I asked about the new cost, the owner said that the original estimate was a little too high so the $1500 estimate would stand. They asked if that was OK with me.
