It was kind of a last minute deal and he was able to squeeze me in and it was very positive. He was fine and very professional.
Description of Work: He took my dryer apart. A little rubber ball fell down in the vent area and got stuck in the motor and shut everything down.

Getting an appointment took about a week. When he arrived, Dave was gracious and thorough. The job proved more elaborate than anticipated, but charges were still within the bounds of what I'm expected. I would not hesitate to use Dave's Appliance Repair again.

I have a home warranty. I'm in Lebanon and there isn't a provider to use in the area so the warranty company said I could contact an outside service company. I called Dave's because they were rated well and located in Lebanon to set up an appointment to have them come out. They told me that if I was using a home warranty company they didn't want to service me. I explained that all the technician had to do was give the diagnosis to the rep when I called in for the authorization so that I know that it is a covered expense so I could be reimbursed for it by the home warranty company. I explained to her that I would pay for the service and then I would submit it to the HSA Co. for reimbursement. They didn't have to do anything. She told me no, they don't want my business. I said all the tech has to do is give them the diagnosis when I call in for the authorization and she said no, we don't have time for that. So I said, " you are saying you don't want my business?" and she said yes. So I guess after my home warranty is up and I need service on my appliances they WILL NOT be on my list to call to hire if they cant even spend 5 minutes on the phone while I get authorization so I can get reimbursed for the bill. This is not the type of company I will be using nor will I recommend to others. There has to be other companies that are interested in growing their business and know how to make good impressions to new prospective life long clients.

We apologize that we were unable to schedule a service call with you, however, experience has made contracting with home warranty companies a near impossibility. In the past, it had been a simple matter of requesting the customer pay for the service up-front. Then their home warranty company would reimburse them for the cost of the service call. However, more recently, home warranty companies have changed their policies on reimbursement. Now the process often requires an initial diagnosis then approval for work, approval of charges as well as fighting and arguing about the necessity of parts repairs. Further, gaining these approvals can keep us on hold with their call center for an hour or more. It was a difficult decision to come to as it does complicate matters for some of our customers but we had to start refusing service calls where a home warranty company is involved. Of course, if you would still like to schedule for service we would be happy to do so if you wish to pay by some other means but as to home warranties, the processes imposed upon us by the home warranty companies has become untenable. We understand that this presents a significant inconvenience for some of our customers and we do apologize for this. However, we do not have the time or resources to battle the home warranty companies.

I contacted Dave's by email via Angie's List. I think they prefer phone calls, but it's nice having an email correspondence with a company, to make sure everything discussed is in writing. Needless to say, they accommodated emails, but emphasized they prefer phone calls, and it worked between the secretary and us, to get the part ordered and the install completed. Brad came out, very professional, and went right to work. Took a little over an hour, and removed and reinstalled the new Door Boot, which now prevents the washing machine from leaking. He checked everything out, ran a test run of the washing machine, and said it was like new. Great guy, very nice and did a great job.
Description of Work: Brad came out and removed and replaced the door boot of our Samsung Front Loading washing machine. We had a tear in the seal/door boot, and they placed the order, and once it came in, they contacted me and set the date for the install.

The service on the list says they serve Hendricks County. I am located 15 minutes away in Brownsburg and they can't get there. The employee needs to be taught a geography lesson. If they don't want to service clients within 15minutes drive either they don't need clients or they stink as a company. I for one, not impressed at all.

Because of the large area that we already cover, we are unable to service all of Hendricks as well. I was able to get the refrigerator running. These guys were wonderful, especially considering they were swamped with service calls. They still took the time to talk me through troubleshooting!! I cannot thank them enough and will definitely use their services should any of my other appliances break.

We've used them a few times, and we'd give them top marks across the board. They have very reasonable prices, they respond quickly to our calls, and they consistently do good work. Furthermore, it's been great working with Dave.

I called Dave's Appliance to have them fix my washing machine which was displaying an error code. They came out and "tightened a bolt." That fixed the issue for a few months. I called them back, hoping for a prompt appointment since their first attempt didn't solve the problem, but they were too busy to come out any time soon so they gave me the number for another repair company! I said I preferred to wait for their availability. They scheduled me for the day after a holiday weekend several weeks out. The day came and nobody showed. After about two hours of trying to get ahold of them, the woman answering the phone said they didn't have me on the schedule and they don't service my town on Tuesdays. I was asking for more info or help and she kept telling me I "must have misunderstood" when I called them last time. I told her that wasn't a satisfactory answer, and she hung up on me.

He is wonderful. He always gives you the practical options and is very clear on what he needs to repair and will always make the repair if possible. He also has very good appliance care. I have used him a number of times over the years and have never had a bad experience.

They saved our Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator from needing to be replaced. Other appliances they have serviced for us include a Kenmore Elite dishwasher, a Kenmore washer and a Whirlpool dryer. They offer ethical service. I recommend them all the time.
Description of Work: They have been out multiple times for us. Most recently, they were working on our freezer and replaced the hinges on our refrigerator doors on both sides.

I think his pricing is pretty high. He said the washing machine is on the end of its lifespan and either we can spend $500 to repair it or go out and buy a new one. I decided to wait to wait and buy a new one later but he still charged me $75 and he did absolutely no work, he just made a recommendation. I gave him a gas dryer when we moved here for free because nobody would take the gas dryer. I donated it to him and I never got a thank you from him and he still charged me $75 just to tell me that my washing machine was not worth repairing. It’s just not the way I would like to do business with people. I think he does his job well because I think there aren’t a lot of appliance repair men. I don’t think he sold me anything that I don’t need. I was just a little irritated about his business practice in that regard. I don’t think his prices are fair.

We apologize for your experience and any confusion but, we do charge a flat $65 trip charge for each onsite call plus time spent in diagnosing the issue. In cases where the cost of repair is prohibitive, we do give our customers the option to continue with the service or end the service call at that time. In that way, the bill only includes trip and diagnostic time. Regarding your dryer, at the time you did mention that you were having trouble getting rid of it so we offered to take it away as a service to you. However, if you feel you were wronged by this, we can return it to you as we do still have it in our warehouse. Gas dryer's can be difficult to get rid of as we sold only three in the 2013 calendar year. But we will happily return yours if you wish. Just let us know how you wish to proceed. Thank you for your business and I hope we can better serve you in the future.

Dave is very competent and professional and obviously has vast knowledge when it comes to appliances. His price seemed a little high but I do not have any comparison to go by.

We have used Dave's Appliance Service Inc. before so we are familiar with them. The guy came to work on our stove and he did some extra work for us. They have ordered some parts for it and we are waiting for the part to come. We like using them, they are courteous. Their prices are reasonable. They sell us the part at exactly the same price that we get online.

They said there was a 90-day warranty on the part. Prior to the end of my 90-day warranty, my dishwasher stopped working again with the same problem. When I called they said they would go ahead and honor the warranty. They reordered another control panel and installed it on August 29th. I was okay with that. They didn't charge me for the part, but they charged me $115.00 for service fee. I would've thought the service charge would've been free due to the warranty. They told me that they only warranty the labor for 30-days, and that's why they charged me.

Our 4 year old dishwasher stopped draining. I checked the pipes for clogs, and came up with nothing. Didn't really feel qualified to pull the dishwasher out for fear of causing more damage. Got Dave's contact info from here on Angie's List, called him first because he was closest (and had several positive reviews.) He came out a few days later to take a look at the dishwasher. Figured out the problem pretty quick, looked to see if he could repair the pump; but sadly they're just not made like they used to be, so it had to be replaced. They didn't have one in stock, so he came back the following week to fix it. Dave took great care and cleaned up afterwards. I got to chat with him while he worked, and learned a lot from him. As far as I see it, Dave's my go-to guy for appliance repair now; and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to my friends. Thanks Dave!

Dave put the fan in CORRECTLY and then explained that the reason the freezer was noisier than it was before Turner "fixed it" was because they ordered a fan blade that was bigger than what was factory installed. He said he could order the correct size but the new fan probably was more efficient so if we could live with the noise it was probably fine. We've had NO problems with our freezer since. I would ALWAYS call Dave's Appliance Repair for any freezer issues. I would not call Turner Appliance.
Description of Work: Turner Appliance has been out to our house to fix our Sub Zero freezer on 3 separate occasions (within a 6 mos. timeframe). The freezer was only keeping items below the 1/2 way point of our freezer frozen. Everything above the 1/2 way point was melting. They said it was the fan. The next 2 times they came out they tried different things to fix it but it never fixed the problem. They finally said we would have to buy a new control panel that would cost approx $500 or MORE. I decided to try another repair person. Found Dave's in Angie's List. Dave came out and said within 5 minutes that Turner put the fan in backwards.

After giving the model number to the woman on the phone, I was given an "about" figure, which was in the ballpark of other estimates I received for the same work. Based on the very nice reviews, I opted for Dave. However, the final price came out to be 38% higher than the quote. Dave said she probably thought I had a Whirlpool washer, and the GE is more complicated and time consuming to work on, but that isn't logical, because the same woman called back to get the exact model number so she could order the gasket. (Which she said cost $100--my charge was $123.80.) He apologized and did take off about 6%. I have no complaints about the work and Dave was very nice. I just don't think that is a very good way to run a business.
Description of Work: I contacted Dave's for an estimate to replace the door gasket on my front loading GE washer.

We apologize for the difference in pricing and estimate. Our secretary is very knowledgeable but she can't always give an exact estimate on the time it takes to make a repair. The original quote given was given with the assumption that washer was a Whirlpool. When it was found out in a later call that it was indeed a GE, we should have let you know of the price difference. He is very honest. If he says that an appliance needs to be repaired rather than purchasing a new one I trust his judgment on that. If he says I need a new appliance I trust him on that. He is always very cheerful. No matter what he works on he always cleans it up. His rates are reasonable. I will continue to utilize his services again.

Brad Henry is the type of person that everyone loves because when he comes to fix something, he doesn't just try to get the job over and done with, he listens and provides great customer service. I do not allow people into my home when I am not there and they have been understanding when it comes to my schedule. Brad is my go-to guy and he can take care of anything I might need help with. He is a hardworker and tries very hard to get work done for everbody in timely manner.
Description of Work: The work that they do is excellent. Dave's Appliance has fixed a few things for me over the years including my dishwasher. They have also repaired my washer, dryer, fridge, and ice maker and they have even corrected some plumbing problems for me.

He is a good guy. He is the salt of the earth. He is a Christian guy and is very good at what he does. He is a wonderful dude. He really knows his stuff. We would use him again in the future.
Description of Work: Our refrigerator was not working, so we used Dave’s Appliance Service Inc to replace the compressor and he did a whole bunch of work on an old refrigerator that was not working. He got it up and running.

The washing machine in our rental property was not working properly. We sent a message over the weekend and Dave's called on Monday to schedule a time to get out to take a look. They were able to come out on Thursday and take care of the issue. We will be calling Dave again for any appliance issues that arise.
Description of Work: The washing machine was not draining. Dave's Appliance assessed the issue and was able to replace the part on the spot.
