I asked the new owner (Tim Smith has sold the business to one of his former employees) to check the chimney cap installed by their business several years ago, due to a bird in the flue recently and, while here, to clean my dryer vent. The new owner and a trainee arrived to perform the requested services. The owner made no effort to get on the roof to check the cap; he said he could tell ("190% certain") from closing the cap from the fireplace opening that it was sealing propertly. Sounds like nonsense to me. He and his trainee then moved to cleaning the dryer vent. Here a total of less than 1 hour and essentially only cleaned the dryer vent, at a cost of $139. Pretty pricey vent cleaning. This was a reasonably priced, reputable business when owned by Tim Smith. I will not hire again.

Imagine our dismay when the huge stone fireplace in our newly purchased home leaked like a sieve the first time it rained! I contacted Chimney Sweeps of America to get a plan of action for ending the leaking around the chimney. We were able to get on their schedule quickly. On the service date, they were very thorough and contientous even when we had several other contractors at our house for repairs at the same time. I also appreciated the care they took with our newly installed metal roof making sure it didn't get damaged. It's so nice not having buckets and tarps throughout the living and dining room now!

I am getting my basement finished and I had a leak that I could not figure out. I had multiple other companies come out with no success. I called Chimney Sweeps of America based on the Angie's List reviews and within days, Mike was able to come out and give me a free estimate. Initially he was convinced it was an issue with my grading around the foundation and I agreed. He proposed putting an adhesive on the brick to stop the seeping. His price was reasonable so we moved forward. He changes his schedule and came out the next day. The following weekend we had a huge storm and the leak was still there. I called Mike frantically and he agreed to come back out. We worked through some options and did some testing and Mike came to the conclusion that there was an issue with a leak from the top of the chimney. We discussed some options and the quote was very reasonable for the scope of work that he proposed. I needed the work done asap so Mike worked extra hard to get his week done early so he could come out by the end of the week leading into Labor Day. When most people are taking off for the Holiday, Chimney Sweeps of America was at my house going above and beyond to help solve my problem. They worked diligently but didn't cut corners. Mike discussed the work he and his team performed and made sure I understood why the problem was occurring. They took off the chase cover, replaced and painted the trim boards, replaced the piping to my chimney cap, installed a storm collar and made sure everything was sealed up with a special caulking material. I lost a lot of sleep over this leak but I feel very relieved to have found such an honest and hard working team to work with. Trust this company, they will go the extra mile to make sure they help. Tim came in below other estimates I received for this work and it was apparent that he was very knowledgeable about the work I was needing so I felt confident hiring him. He was able to get me scheduled within about 10 days. His crew showed up on time (weather permitting) and completed the job on schedule. As far as going above and beyond, Tim was willing to paint the chase for me after installation, which another company would not do. That may seem like a small thing, but I knew it would be a headache to get someone else up there just to paint the chase, so that was a definite plus. In addition, while they were up on the roof, they also noticed an ugly pipe which needed to be painted and did that for no charge! All in all, very satisfied!

Said the Chimney was clean and did not require a cleaning. (we use only the "Duraflame" type logs, and only about 10 times a year). Also had a Dryer vent cleaning that was well past due. Service was great, N/C for the chimney, and the dryer is running much better now. Very happy with their service and would use them again!

Tim Smith provided an accurate quote with options to replace the tile flue with a stainless steel liner. When removing the old flue, it was determined the crown should be replaced as well, which was not added to the cost. Tim also took the time to build up the chimney 4 rows just to meet current code even though it wasn't required. His staff was profession and considerate of my schedule since the job took multiple days. I would highly recommend Chimney Sweeps of America and I will use them for all my chimney sweep needs in the future.

It went very well, they cleaned up the area when they finished and fired up the stove to make sure it was venting properly. They also went over different things about the care of the insert and answered our questions. We are very pleased with the work that was done and would hire Chimney Sweeps of America, LLC again.

Mike was extremely professional and took the additional time to walk through the repair/replacement once it was completed. In addition Mike took the additional time to repair a dryer vent issue which had been addressed but not resolved at a previous visit. They cleaned up everything and even repaired part of the deck that had been damaged by the scaffolding.

We were very excited to move into our home in Meridian Kessler. We love the homes in the neighborhood and our home was built in 1929. It underwent an extensive renovation before we bought the house but there were many things still in need of repair. One of the most important pieces of the home for us was the fireplace. We wanted to be able to use our fireplace but when we called Tim to come clean it for us, we discovered it was not able to be used. One of his friendly workers showed us pictures taken from above. We saw cracked tiles inside the chimney, as well as some blockage from the tiles. We were disappointed but decided we would save some money to have a safe working chimney. My mother and father had a fire in their home the season before due to a faulty fireplace, so this news of our fireplace was not something we took lightly. We decided to call Tim back when we were financially ready to commit to a new fireplace. We got a few other opinions from other companies, and they seemed like they didn't even want to take on the daunting task of engineering a safer firebox for a 90 degree situation in a house built in 1929. Tim took on the challenge happily. He was also the only one who knew exactly what he wanted to do and was able to outline an estimate immediately. Our firebox came out from the wall at a 90 degree angle and was vented at 90 degrees from the inside. We knew the structure of our firebox had to be reworked, as Tim said the heat needed more space and a larger angle to then travel up the chimney to be up to today's safety standards. We also wanted a new look for our fireplace. Tim quoted us our price and clearly went over each thing he would be doing. Not only was he going to rebuild our entire fireplace, he was going to put in liners all the way up for both the furnace and the chimney. As the description of the job says, he even reworked our furnace pipes to create a safer flow of gas. It was clear that the single most important thing to Tim and his company was the safety of his costumers. We loved the gas logs he installed. He gave us the name of a place who gave us many stone options and we were able to find the marble of our dreams. He then laid the marble tile for us. During and after this practice, we found little or no dust. He and his workers were always careful not to spread dust throughout our home. If any dust was to be found, it was immediately cleaned by his crew without being prompted by my husband or myself. He put us in touch with a master carpenter who made our complete vision into a reality. This carpenter worked on our mantle and built-ins offsite and was able to perfectly fit them onto the new fireplace. He painted them offsite as well and did an amazing job. The approximate cost of having a brand new fireplace, gas logs, chimney, liner, stone, custom mantle and built-ins was something we never thought we could afford. Tim and the carpenter were both very fair to us. Tim was also very pleasant to work with and welcomed the inquiries of our three year old son. He is a nice and fair man who is a perfectionist and safety expert. Thanks to Tim and his workers, our dreams came true! The fireplace has been used all the time for the past two winters and we have loved every minute of it! The pictures speak for themselves.

They did a great job. I did have to make several attempts to get them out here on a time we agreed upon. Overall, they were professional. They were easy to work with and communicated well. They made sure to clean up and attend to all of the small details. The price was also comparable to other companies we looked into.

Overall an outstanding experience. Tim was very pucntual and responded very quickly. He and his crew were very professional, worked efficiently and completely cleaned up after the job. IIf I had known the outcome would be as positive as this was, I wouldn't have waited so long to have someone come do the work! Tim was great from the first call. He responded quickly and gave us a complete survey of the inside and outside of the chimney and fireplace. He actually came out twice as we were unsure if we were going to do the exterior work immediately. There was no extra charge for the 2 visits. he pointed a couple of things we did not even realize were wrong and fixed them at no charge. He cleaned up completely and you couldnt even tell he was there, inside and outside. He called later to ask if we were satisfied with the work and if we had any questions. he was great.

I was impressed with the quality of work. We were going to have a ventless fireplace installed until Tim told us our firebox would not support it. He even called the manufactor technician for us to make sure. The people we were going through had not done their homework and probably installed it anyway. I was pleased with our service.

Project went very well. The workers were prompt, courteous, and hard-working. They spent most of the day working on the chimney in very hot weather. They did a very good job. CHIMNEY SWEEPS OF AMERICA has replaced a cap and worked on the hearth in the past, and I would certainly hire them again.
