+ -1 moreThey provided a quote quickly and were out to do the lawn within a week of accepting the quote. They were very easy to work with. I thought they could have covered the corners of the lawn a bit better with the aeration. They went in circles and did not hit the corners very well. However, given the price, they did a good job.

+ -1 moreAndy is very personable and seems to take his business seriously. However, he was not consistent in returning calls, e-mails, or scheduling. Our situation was unique in that we needed to offset expenses by doing some work ourselves. Andy does not seem able to work within those parameters, even though I was upfront about this goal from the beginning and he said it wasn't a problem. We have decided to work with another company who is flexible and helpful.
Description of Work: Jobs we wanted to have done: Landscape redesign (Andy referred this to a third party - what we really wanted was a redesign using our existing landscape material. What we got was a plan to completely overhaul and replace much of the plant material...cost prohibitive in our situation.) We would like remove the existing asphalt driveway and replace it with concrete (Andy referred this to a third party - still waiting for quotes from 2nd company as of 5/27/2011. No return calls or e-mails on this second estimate.) Remove dead trees - still no quote as of 5/27/2011 - request made the third week in April. Cleaning up bushes and trees - we have completed this work ourselves because Andy and/or his crews never showed and I needed to keep the project moving. . *Patch repair to lawn and overseeding - job completed (see above) *Aerating lawn - job completed (see above)

+ 0 moreThey are basically my shrubs and tree guys. They don?t show up when they are supposed to and all their jobs take way to long. . I still use them that is my bit of the bargain. They are personable and ones they do a job it is well done, it is just that they don?t show up when they are supposed to. They are pretty good work but you need to patient with them showing up when they say they are going to be there. I would continue to use this company in the future

+ 1 moreWe are quite pleased with Bast and sons' work ethic. They finished the job in a timely fashion and I did not feel as if I had to supervise. They even did some tree and shrub trimming while we were on vacation.
Description of Work: Installed patio pavers for front walk. Andy and his crew also installed an electrical outlet for a garden fountain. In addition to the fountain, they installed an auto fill valve to maintain water level in the fountain. 12 boxwood shrubs were planted. We are also using Andy and his crew for lawn and tree fertilization. They edged and installed mulch for the entire lawn.

+ 0 moreThe prices are reasonable. He will also do anything to make sure you are satisfied with the service and work if you are not he will work until you are. I also had an emergency I was not able to remove an animal and Andy was the only one that I was able to contact at the time. He left a job to come out and remove the animal and when that animal past away, he helped dig a grave at no charge.

The lawn was regraded on 11/01 to improve drainage and grass seed was sown. On the north side, Andy's crew removed the clay and isntalled a 66' X 9' shade garden of 8 hostas, 9 ferns and 5 astilbe plants. To do so, they added a 9" layer of topsoil and 2" layer of AA hardwood mulch. Redoing the front foundation required using a pickup truck to pull out two decades-old evergreens, planting of four 24" high yews and six 12" high chrysanthemums, trimming the groundcover and adding mulch. The crew also cut back existing plants and vines, plus built a trellis for honeysuckle vines near the southside of house.
Description of Work: #I had a new septic system installed in May 2007, with only a spotty lawn recovery due to the prolonged drought. Considering my foundation plants were overgrown, and large trees creating a barren area on the north side of my house, I obtained an estimate from Bast Landscaping, a company doing work in Indianapolis & Carmel. My ground is predominately clay, which was rock hard from lack of moisture. After getting some rainfall in October, it was possible to begin my project on Thursday, 11/01. This was scheduled to take 2 days, which was extended by one day as I then requested 6 ninebark plants and one magnolia tree for the front foundation. Andy Bast willingly returned on Saturday, 11/10, to complete.
