I wrote a giant detailed account long ago, and the website ate it. Since this company is (amazingly) still in business, I figured I should at least add a condensed version of my interaction with them. I hired Monster Roofing LLC to put a new roof on my house because I had developed a leak. Tom gave me a couple quotes, and I decided to go with them, and a metal roof. I wrote a check for down payment. They never told me a start date and after a couple of weeks I called and they told me it would be a couple more weeks. When the install date came closer, they called and asked if they could drop off materials in my yard. I told them they could leave them in my driveway behind the house because I didn't want my lawn to be torn up. They dumped all the metal roofing in my front yard and tore up my grass. One of the reasons I went with this company is because they said they had their own crew - I didn't want random subcontractors for obvious reasons. When the work finally started, a bunch of random guys in pickup trucks showed up and one crew boss who worked for monster. Not what I wanted. On one of the days when I was home while they were working, a Monster Roofing van pulled up and several guys in Monster Roofing shirts piled out and appeared to inspect the work of the subcontractors. They weren't there for long. Overall, it took a few days, and they left a lot of crap in my yard - Metal scraps, screws, and some of their own tools. I was happy though - no more leaks... right? A couple of months after the installation, water started pouring out of the wall in my kitchen - a few feet from the original leak. I called and they sent Chad (the crew boss from the install) out. He apparently did something while I wasn't home. Next time it rained I still had the leak, this time in a slightly different spot. I called again, and again, Chad came out. Next rain, same leak, new spot. When I called this time, Chad told me there was nothing he could do, it was a "pre-existing" problem. After persistence when they wouldn't return my calls and some heated phone calls we he and Frank, who is supposedly the owner of the company, it was revealed that they put no roof on the area over my kitchen, where the leak had been when I asked for the quote. I was fuming. They claimed that I told them not to roof that part. Seems kind of odd that I would tell them not to do the part that was the reason I was getting a new roof. I argued with them for quite a while, but they would do nothing. Meanwhile, the paint bubbled off of my kitchen ceiling and eventually the drywall bubbled and crumbled to the floor. I called another roofing company to get a quote on fixing the roof and all the destruction that had come from the leak since Monster did the work. it was over $4000. I hired a contractor to see if he could at least stop the water from coming in. With him, I caulked everything that could possibly allow water in, and even took up some of the metal roofing to lay new roof roll and tar liberally over the leak area. It did nothing. I am still unsure where the water is coming in and how Monster managed to do such a crappy job. At this point I talked to my attorney. She wrote Monster LLC a letter, and suddenly they were calling and "didn't want an unhappy customer". I believe I had the legal precedent to sue them to get money for repairs, but it seemed apparent that these guys had no money for me to win in court. Instead, I asked them to roof the part that they had initially not roofed. They agreed and I had my contractor inspect the work. At this point I thought that I was finally done with this ridiculousness.. BUT IT STILL LEAKS! I lost all hope that Monster had the skills to fix the problem, and have had to leave it as is. I am a full time student and work three jobs to pay my bills. I don't have the time or money to do anything else with it. To conclude, I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone. I don't think they tried to rip me off, but I do think that they aren't as knowledgeable or skilled as they present themselves. They also had a terrible attitude once I confronted them about not doing the full roof and the continued leaks. They might be ok to do a polebarn or something, but don't trust them with your house. Not only did I waste my money with them, but I've incurred further damage to my house due to their inability to do the job.

I would recommend them again to some one who is looking to have their roof done. They were professional and cleaned up after they were finished on the job. Overall it was a good experience. I even had a warranty mailed to me for my metal roof.
Description of Work: I had a metal roof installed on my home for less than the cost of shingles at today's prices for them. The crew pulled up with their machine and ran the material right there in my driveway, it was good to see that the product was made on site, no waiting for material.
