Lafayette Mower Repair

Took forever

I called them after finding them on Angie's List--This is thebusy mowing season, and, of course--my John Deere totally broke--the battery wouldn't even charge. They came and picked it up when they said they would--I didn't have to wait around all day! They brought it back about 4 days later-when they said they would--I've used it twice since then and it runs smoothly. What really impressed me was that since I knew the battery wouldn't charge--they could have charged me for a new battery--but, they didn't! I trust them( since all I know about machines is I put the key in and expect it to go!) and I would recommend them to anyone.

Everything went well. I had a long wait because they were busy, had to order parts and then do the labor. It was over two weeks.

I called and a woman answered the phone, sounding distracted. I had to ask if this was the Lafayette Mower Repair company. She said, and quot;yesand quot;. Never a good sign. But I heard about them from someone I trusted, so I thought, what the h***... try it. After describing my needs, she said someone could come out to pick up our machines for repair and would be by around 5pm the next day. That hour came and went and I gave up. Just after 6 pm that night, someone knocked at our door. My husband helped them load the equipment and described in greater detail the needs, etc. Over a week later, I heard nothing. So I called. Woman answered the phone and said that our machines were ready and asked if they could deliver them in an hour. I was headed out for errands, so she said she'd call back to schedule a time for delivery and quot;tomorrowand quot;. I asked how much the repairs came to (a little annoyed that I wasn't given a call with an estimate before beginning work), and she said, and quot;Oh, I don't know. Just a second.and quot; *rustling of papers* and quot;This is for ... what is your name?and quot; I told her, more rustling of papers and a final total. That was last Wednesday. I have yet to hear anything from them almost a week later. I hope their repair is better than their customer service! I'm concerned.
