My wife called Isbell due to our hot water heater (HWH) leaking. They arrived, looked it over, and said that the hwh needed to be replaced and that they would go get one and come back. 40 minutes later they called and said that they needed to do the job the next day. Two of them showed up but the next day but then one took off to go pick up the hwh while the other one removed the old hwh. Removing the hwh was a 2-person job and with only one person there, I ended up needing to help remove the old hwh from our basement. The 2nd person returned and dropped off the new hwh but then took off again leaving the 1 person to carry the new hwh to the basement and hook it up. I had to assist with getting the new hwh to the basement and help get it into the correct position. When I received the bill, the price for the parts was $450.00 higher than what they had paid at Menards. I could have gone to Menards and picked them up myself and saved myself $450.00. I called and left multiple messages requesting to speak to the owner and he never called me back. If you choose to use ISBELL Co., I suggest buying the supplies that you need and letting them do the labor portion.

We were charged over $5000 for a bottom of the line AC priced out after the fact by two other vendors in Lafayette and found out we could have had a very good Bryant AC unit installed and all associated work done for $3800. Isbell Co. did respond the first thing the morning after our lightning strike but after it was said and done we put two and two together that when a company can arrive at your home at 8 a.m. the very next morning and have an AC unit installed by 1 that same day that should have been the first red flag to us. I arrived home from work at 5 the day of installation and discovered two dents in the new unit and instead of leveling the AC pad appropriately they had taken 6 x 6 ceramic tiles out of our garage they found that were replacement tiles for our bathroom and sat the AC legs on the tiles and on top of the original AC pad. Our circuit breaker box was literally ripped out of the wall in our garage by installers and drywall/paint destroyed around it in order to do wiring part of the job. The 6 weeks that followed was a nightmare ending with a court appearance, several nasty and threatening texts being sent to my cell phone by one of the Isbell employees (who is still working there) and a countless number of phone calls to get issues corrected. We ended up learning a valuable and expensive lesson which was that even if you are in a pinch as we were in needing to get the AC replaced due to 90 degree weather - MAKE SURE TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST!! Don't rely on the yellow pages and comments in an ad about Family Owned business for 27 years meaning that you are going to be getting a reliable and honest vendor. Also if family owned I would advise you to check court records online to see if the company you are considering, or any of it's employees have arrests, convictions, etc. We do more due diligence in the future for sure.

Dan was professional and courteous throughout the process.
Description of Work: My furnace was not providing heat. Dan Isbell determined that the cause was loose wires which had blown fuses within the furnace. Dan tightened the wires and replaced the fuses. He provided these services over the weekend.
