Gutter Covers of Indiana

I called to get a quote on a Friday morning, left my phone number and name and was told I would get a call back later that day. Waited until about 4:30 pm that day and never rec'd a call. Called again, got a different person that answered who apparently never got my message, so I left my name and phone # again. Heard back on Monday from a guy named Gerry to schedule a time to get a quote. We ended up scheduling on a Thursday at 5:00 pm to go over quote. Gerry calls me on Wednesday at 4:40 pm and advised he is at my house ready to go over the quote. I advised we had scheduled for Thursday at 5:00, but I rolled with it, left work early and got home to go over quote. Gerry was very nice and not pushy at all. He worked really well at offering different packages and prices to accomodate what I was willing to spend. We ended up going with a thicker .032 gauge of aluminum, which I recommend to all who get gutters. The standard .027 gauge gutters dent very easily. After spending a few days to talk over with my wife, I called Gerry to schedule the work to be done. We decided to schedule the work on a Monday morning. Prior to the work being completed I had sent a few various emails asking for clarity on a few items to Gerry. Gerry was slow to respond on one email, and never responded to another email. After no response on the one email, I finally called and asked Gerry if they normally walk through with their client once the work is completed to make sure satisfaction is met. He stated that is not the norm, but that they could have someone come out at some point in time to go over the completed work. (this is probably why Gerry did not respond to my email. I would expect an A rated company to go above and beyond the "norm". I believe it's important to review your work with your client, especially when the work being done costs $1000s of dollars. I declined Gerry's offer at having one of their guys come out at some point to review the work with me as I work a busy schedule and did not want to go through the hassle of trying to schedule a time to get a guy out there. I expected them to simply have a guy there on Monday to go over the work with me). I arrived home from work on Monday to find signs the installers were hasty in their work. Wood trim all around the house was damaged from where the installers removed the original gutters. Some parts of the wood trim were lightly damaged and could be touched up with a little paint. There were a few areas that the wood trim was damaged pretty severely though and this is where you could tell the work was done hastily. I also found several, not just a few, but several (roughly 10 to 15) nails surrounding the front of the house. I also found one 7" gutter spike and a two 6" ferules. I found about 5 nails in my driveway just under the garage door. I was incredibly frustrated that so many nails were left in the driveway, but luckily I was able to pick all up before any tires were punctured on our cars. I never received a follow up phone call from the company asking if I had any questions or issues with the work. I ended up getting an email from Gerry a few days later asking how the work went. I advised Gerry of the issue with the wood trim being damaged and all the nails found around the house including the driveway. He emailed back apologizing and said they will be mindful of that in the future. Nothing further was done (which not much could be done at that point). I ended up sanding, priming, and repainting the wood trim where the severe damage was done myself. As for the finished product, the gutters look good. The overall quality of work on the gutters and downspouts look to be installed soundly. One note, the gutters are not completely seamless. They put gutter caps at the end of the gutters and use gutter sealant. They also have seams at the corners where gutters meet and use gutter sealant (which means that I will be cleaning and reapplying sealant every few years). I was a little frustrated at the lack of response I got when asking questions and not being told about what to expect with the work being done, such as wood trim getting damaged and gutters not being 100% seamless. Overall I would rate them about average. I was not wowed, however, there were no glaring issues that would make me rate them as poor. Gerry was very nice and up front when I was able to get a hold of him. He was a bit slow at answering emails, but was good at answering his phone. I would not hire again just because I look for the best and do repeat business only with those that go above and beyond what you expect.

The overall experience was very good. The estimates I received from the vendor covered a variety of options which were clearly explained to me. I had contacted a second vendor to come out and give me an estimate, but they never called me back. Since Gutter Covers had such great reviews here on AL, I decided to go with them. I emailed confirmation of the work I wanted done and the price I agreed on to the company, and we had a couple of email exchanges regarding a few of the details. I then received an email with an estimate of when they would be out to do the work. A few days before the estimated work date, I got a call from the person doing the installation to confirm the date. They arrived around 10am and were done around 3pm. I went out several times to take a look and see how they were doing and to ask questions, which were pleasantly answered. The workmanship appears to be very good, and they cleaned up everything in the yard (including my old gutter system) before they left. We've had a few days of steady rain since the installation, and the system seems to be performing as expected. This experience is exactly what you would hope for between a customer and a vendor, and I would gladly do business with them again. The only thing I didn't rate an A was punctuality. The reason for this is that the person who was going to come out and do the estimate failed to show at the appointed time. I had to call the office to see what was going on, and we rescheduled the appointment. It turns out there was a family emergency which was the cause for the missed appointment. A courtesy call from the person doing the estimate or from the main office would have been appreciated. This was the only negative in the entire process. To be clear, I don't consider missing the appointment as the negative, but only the lack of the courtesy call, as I understand that things happen which cause folks to change their schedules.

It went well. The only hitch is that the installers showed up with no notice. That did not turn out to be a problem, however.

I was given a quick, painless and thorough estimate. The installers completed all of the work while I was at work and it was almost impossible to tell that they had even been there. Very professional company that was a breeze to work with. I would recommend them to anyone!

I have no complaint with the gutter work done by Gutter Covers. I do have a complaint about their lack of concern for my privacy and the way they used my home information in their advertisements, without my consent. I trusted this company to do work on my home. I believe they disregarded this trust when they mass mailed my home address to who knows how many people. I picked up my mail and almost pitched what I thought was junk mail, when I noticed it was promoting my home address. I couldn't believe this had happened so I called Gerry Murray the Marketing Manager at Gutter Covers. He admitted they used my address without my consent and said "in hindsight, maybe it wasn't their best marketing idea, but they were trying to drum up business for their company". I asked to speak to the President of the company, Dan Feldhaus, and Mr. Murray said he would have him call me. When he didn't call, I again called Mr. Murray. Gerry said the Mr. Feldhaus declined returning my call and asked Mr. Murray to handle it. This seems to me as further evidence of their lack of concern for their customer. Mr. Murray told me that another mailing, again using my address would be coming out, and I have since received that mailing. (They do believe they have stopped a third, planned mailing.) Again, I don't know how many homes are in receipt of a mailing using my address that I did not consent to. Mr. Murray asked what they could do to resolve this issue. I asked for a refund. Mr. Murray said he would have to check with Mr. Feldhaus and he would get back to me in a week. He did not, so I called him again. He said he didn't feel that their company could do anything to resolve this, beyond stopping the third mailing. I believe Superior Service includes treating the customer with respect prior to the sale, during the actual accomplishment of the work, and after the work is done. When you contract with a company, you extend trust to them in letting them into and around your home to perform the work. You expect that this trust will be honored. It was not. This was not the type of service or treatment I expected from this company.

The sales agent was able to come on the day I called for information. Approximately two and a half weeks later, we received a call to see if the covers could be installed that day. There was no trace that they had been to the house other than the covers which were now in place. Thus far, the rain is going into the gutters but not the tree debris!

Job was completed in a timely manner. Some clean-up still remains. I called last week and asked them to address items left on roof. No action yet.

I had hail damage to my roof this summer. The insurance company said that I needed a new roof. and gutter covers. I immediately called Gutter Covers because they had installed the original gutter covers. They came out and quoted me a price which I felt was very reasonable. They worked to get the covers removed a couple of days before the roof was replaced. Then, a couple of days after that, they came out right away and replaced the gutter covers. The gutter covers look great. And, as usual, the guys from Gutter Covers did a great job. This group is very easy to work with and will gladly answer any questions you have, plus the guys that actually install the covers are punctual, friendly, & do an excellent job. They were working in alot of heat but never missed a beat. When the installation was finished they did an immaculate job of cleaning up. I would recommend them to anyone......the materials they use are top grade, they're honest and are very good at follow-up as well.

A storm was approaching and they came right out and repaired gutter--They gave me an estimate for other work and came back right away when I decided to use them. First class outfit.

They are fabulous. They were prompt, efficient and were very honest about the product. I believe they are a company that I would gladly use again if I needed them. They have a great product.

Overall i was pleased with the service. got a 10 year warranty on the covers and also people were very nice. the only thing that i would have changed was communication from the time i signed the agreement and the actual service. Everything overall was good however.

I was very pleased. They were very efficient, they came when they said they would, I couldn't even tell they had been here afterwards. They were professional throughout and didn't demand payment right away. They said they would send me a bill, and they did.

The sales process was professional (I had previously showed a competitor the door), no sales games, not pushy and willing to negotiate pricing. The work crew worked efficiently and did an excellent job. I would use them again and would not hesitate to refer them to a friend.

The estimate from Phil Richards was about half that of another Angies list competitor for the same gutter product so I decided to go with them based on price. Charles and James arrived on time and worked solidly for nearly six hours. The gutters were installed correctly with hangers and screws. They were polite, efficient and neat. There was a slight drip at one of the 90 degree angles when we eventually had rain - Phil came out the next day to address the problem. The gutters work perfectly and look great.

My husband worked with Gerry from this company - he was able to come out and give us a quote for the gutter replacement. We currently had no gutter covers installed so they didn't have to remove any old system. They did however clean out the gutters before installing and also repaired some of our gutter spouts to line up with the drains. They were able to get the job done within a week of our first appointment - they were in and out in no time. They guarantee the gutters will not get filled with leaves and if so they come out and clean for free.

Job done fast and well, left nothing on the ground.

They were fine. They came when they said they would come and the estimate was right on spot with what they did. They actually put the covers on and I didn't even know they were on.

The crew worked very quickly and efficiently; took less than 2 hours. They gave less than 24 hours notice. The day after I realized one of the downspout extensions was missing. I called them and they came out the very next day. Only thing I wish was different: It would have been nice to have received more notice, even if it wasn't precise. When I accepted their proposal, I had no idea if they were coming in 1 week or 3. But they had a very quick response for the followup.

I called Gutter Covers from Angie's list along with several others businesses who offered free estimates. The representative came out within a few days and examined my gutters. He explained everything in detail and was not high pressure. We talked about several options and estimates for each. Comparing other company's estimates, I decided Gutter Covers had the best product with the most reasonable price. They installed within a week. The technicians showed up early in the day, were very nice, did a professional job and were finished by the end of the day. I couldn't even tell that they had been there because they cleaned up so well. The caps look excellent and match the roof and gutters perfectly. No more climbing the shaky ladder and having to clean my gutters anymore.

The guy that came out and talked to me and negotiated the price was a real nice guy. He was very responsive and came right away within a day or two. He was on time for the appointment and had a lot of selections that I could choose from different qualities, which was good. There were a couple of things. I purchased them and then he said that they would install them. They never called to tell me when they were going to do that. One day I was gone on an appointment and when I came home they were in my front yard putting them on, which was fine as I didn't need to be there and I didn't need to pay them. It's just that I didn't know they were coming. They sent me a bill and I paid the bill. I am currently having an issue because we had so much snow that I was the only house in the entire neighborhood that had huge icicles from my gutters all the way around the house. I did call them in the midst of all the snow that we had in February. I said it didn't concern me at all to have them. However, I made it a point to look at all of my neighbors, I live in a cul-de-sac, and nobody had icicles and I had them everywhere. He told me that as soon as the weather permitted, they would come down and take a look at it and I never heard back from him. I don't have the icicles anymore, but I have another issue. I have a clog on the gutter. I know for sure because it has been overflowing with the rain we had recently. I am going to call him again and get them out here. I have an unresolved situation, but I am not upset about it. I feel confident that they will fix it. They did clean the gutters before they put the gutter guards on. It is interesting because where I have the current clog is brand new gutter. I have had this issue going on since February and I don't have it resolved and I haven't heard from him. I know I have a guarantee in writing because I got out the contract to call him in February and I read the fine print at that point. I am not worried about it. I would probably hire them in the future if they solve the problem.
