Crew Cuts Lawn Care

wanted my yard mowed, less than 1k sq ft. $25 per mow. they came every single week even in november, regardless of the lawn needing it or not. crew also damaged my property, broke my wooden back yard fence trying to get their ride on mower back there, broke up my custom patio, mowed so low they cut into the ground in spots and drove on my neighbors yard. attempted to call owner to work something out, but didn't here back for 3 months once until he finally noticed i had stopped paying the bill. played phone tag for about a month then i gave up. he never once picked up the phone when i called.

I called for an estimate and they came out and took a look the same day. They started on my lawn the following week. The first service was good, but I think they use youngsters during the summer because the quality of the lawn work diminished soon after summer started. On one visit, I actually had the young man go back over one side of the lawn because it didn't look as if it had been cut at all. I don't expect perfection for $25 a week, but I have a very small yard and I just want it to look neat. I've also had to ask them to be sure to edge it up, because the sidewalk looked ragged. I'll continue to use them for now. They are always responsive when I call or ask them to address an issue. They seem to be good guys, but perhaps a little too focused on quantity over quality.

I have used Crew Cuts Lawn Care for 4 years to clean out flower beds/trim shrubs and mulch. Also use them for yearly yard mowing. They have always been very affordable and do an excellent job. They are prompt, courteous and leave things very clean. I highly recommend them for all yard work. This is family owned and operated.

After a few mowings, never showed up again, and never called.

Sent e-mails and placed phone calls. Got no repsonse at all. All these guys are interested in are big jobs. The small guy can forget it. Very unprofessional.

Called to ask for a quote and left a message. He responded within 24 hours, as promised, but never got back to me. I called a week later to leave another message and NO reply. two weeks later, I'm moving on.

I am very happy with Crew Cuts.

I've used Crew Cuts for two summers. Next summer I'm going to try and find another lawn service. I've no complaints about price or promptness. $25 week. It's the quality of the work. It is messy and inconsistent. Originally I requested lawn mowing and cutting weeds, general maintenance. They did it once and never did it again. The clippings of grass are never cleaned up. Maybe I'm expecting too much. But before I moved here I had a landscaping service that trimmed bushes, cleared weeds, cleaned up clippings for $80 a month. They did everything, beautifully. Just can't find that kind of service or work ethic in Lafayette. If all you want is a kid to cut your grass, don't bother with this service.

Based on several positive reviews that I had seen, I called Crew Cuts and asked them to come out and estimate some work. I made and appointment and they even called saying they would be late. Very thoughtful. After thinking about their offer for a day, I called and made an appointment. They never showed and when I called I was told the ground was too wet to work (which made sense) but they had not written down my phone number (we are in the book and info easily available online.) Well Shayne did arrive on time for the new appointment. He did the slicing and some of the spraying he had agreed to do. However, he had to be reminded to spray other areas that he had been asked to do. Also, in the process of slicing, his machine destroyed cleanout caps on the septic system. I caught it after he left. After three (3) calls to the office (all unanswered) asking them to make repairs, I gave up and made them myself. The parts total came to just over $4.50. But I was always taught to fix something I broke that belonged to someone else. My complaint here is not with the dollar damage (admittedly minor) by with the lack of thoughtfulness and caring that Crew Cuts has exhibited by not calling back and offering to make good. How could I ever trust someone who exhibits such behavior? Others considering Crew Cuts for lawn services just have to make the same judgment.
