Unpleasant experience. I gave the salesman exact measurements of the space I had for a refrigerator. He found one on the floor that he said would fit. It was delivered and the hinge on top blocked the cabinet above. I went to Beeson’s and spoke with a manager (can’t remember her name). She looked online and found a refrigerator that would fit. She said it wouldn’t arrive for about 6 weeks, keep the one that doesn’t fit and they would swap them out when the new one arrived. Fine. The new one arrived early and was installed today. I had a balance due as this one was not on sale. HOWEVER, they charged me $65 AGAIN for delivery AND another $65 for an exchange that was their salesman’s error. I called and spoke with manager Miranda to complain. She was unpleasant. I told her I would have to write an unhappy review. She proceeded to tell me what I should say in it. When I mentioned complaining to my credit card company, she went ballistic as said if I was going to do that she would have the refrigerator brought right back to the store. I always prefer to do business locally, but I will not be treated like this. She was unpleasant in the extreme, and needs training in customer relations. Guess I’ll have to shop elsewhere.

I was wanting to buy local for our employee breakroom revamp - I called Beeson's and spoke with the person who answered the phone and told her I was looking for microwaves and compact refrigerators. She told me I would need to speak with the sales guy and put him on the phone. I told him I was wanting prices for microwaves and compact refrigerators and before I could give him the model numbers, he told me to hold on and he would check inventory. He came back and said he had lots of microwaves and one compact fridge. I then told him I was looking for a specific models I had found on their website and wanted pricing on those items. He became flustered and put me on hold; then a young man got on the line and asked me for the model numbers since the other guy "was older and hard of hearing". I gave the young man the model numbers and he said he would call me back with pricing. That was 3 weeks ago and I still have not received a call! Unfortunately for Beeson's, I took my business elsewhere and now have 6 microwaves and 4 compact refrigerators for my employee breakroom. It's too bad that I could not do business with a local company - I will not waste my time visiting them for my personal kitchen remodel either...someone else will receive my business for a kitchen package.

We purchased a new home through Tempest Builders. It came with an appliance credit that had to be spent at Beesons. When we went to pick appliances we were disappointed in the small amount of choices for a refrigerator. They had mostly Frigidaire brand, which has a pretty bad reputation for their units. We chose to get the Frigidaire, since any of their other units would have been an upgrade charge to us. We decided that since they didn't stock the type of refrigerator/freezer unit what we wanted, it was better not to spend extra money on something we didn't like. Sure enough, within weeks of moving into our new home, we had multiple problems with the refrigerator / freezer unit. We called for a service visit from Beesons since the unit was under warranty, and it took a few weeks to get their repair tech out. He was nice, but since they don't stock any parts, he couldn't actually make the repairs at the time of the service call. It took several visits and over 6 weeks to finally get the unit fixed. During our quest to get the unit fixed, I had several unpleasant encounters with the store manager, Miranda, who refused to do anything to speed up the repair process. I would not do business with Beesons again.

The first call to Beeson's was around May, 2013, to schedule a repair for the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. A man came to look at it. He explained that he did not know much about that brand/model and in fact was primarily a delivery person who happened to be in the neighborhood. He looked at it, listened to it run and said that he thought the entire inside needed to be replaced and that the price tag would START at over $600. He said that we should call Whirlpool and work with them to see if they would repair it for free. I called Whirlpool and told them what he had said. They thought that was odd, since the warranty had run out. While I was on the phone, they called Beeson's to talk to them about the situation and were told that Beeson's had no record of a service call. After that conversation, I called Beeson's and they said they would have to send someone out to get more information before they could get me a repair quote. While all of this was going on, our Frigidaire dishwasher quit working, so the service call was twofold. On January 13, 2014, their "repair" person came out for a second time on the washing machine ... the same guy. All he did was write down the model number, which I offered to them over the phone. Then, he played around with the dishwasher and even called the Frigidaire hot line for some advice. Finally, he said that it was probably the control board. Again, he told me that he would report back to the store and they would give me a quote. That was in November. I called several times and asked to talk to the service manager. At first, she said she had no idea what I was talking about, but later she said that the parts have been ordered and that she should have them "any time." But, I still didn't get a quote. I did get a range of costs, depending on a long list of other things. This went on for months. Finally, I went on the internet and found the parts from Frigidaire and Whirlpool and they would ship them that day. I called Beeson's to talk with them. They said they did not use the internet suppliers and that the manufacturers were back ordered, but the control board for the dishwasher should be in "tomorrow." In the mean time, we had heard about a local appliance repair company called Trustworthy Appliance Service (see my review of them). I called them and scheduled a service call for both appliances. My wife then called Beeson's and canceled our service orders. We will never use Beeson's again, for anything. Now, here's the real kicker. I personally know the builder who built our home and he once told me that he and his wife buy their appliances from a store in Indianapolis ... makes you wonder.
Description of Work: In 2011, we moved into a new custom built home. During construction, our builder sent us to Besson's to pick out appliances. We purchased about $17,000 in appliances, including a dish washer, microwave, oven, stove and a washer/dryer set. Everything is top of the line. In 2013, after all of the warranties ran out, we started experiencing noise problems with the washing machine, and, later, the dishwasher. Naturally, we called Beeson's to schedule a repair.

Service/Delivery went fine but there was a problem with my washer, one they'd never had before I was told. It took repeated visits and trial repairs but after awhile it seemed they were either stumped by the problem/not sure what to do next or just wanted to forget about the issue (I'll assume the first). After 5 weeks of the problem not being resolved my calls (6 over 12 days) were not being returned. I drove to the store in person to try to resolve things only to be told the service person was out for the day, no one there could help me and that they'd have to leave a message to have them call me back. The following day I finally did receive a call back-being told they were having trouble for the past week+ trying to contact the manufacturer, that a part had finally been ordered, should arrive any day now and the repair should finally be done soon. That call was the last I ever heard from Beesons!!! It's been well over 2 months so I'll assume they aren't calling! To have troubles fixing a problem I understand but to not return calls or leave a customer in the dark the whole time is unthinkable. After 10 more days with no follow up I decided to have the repair on my washer handled by someone else. Since the washer was brand new and still under warranty I simply called on the manufacturer. I got through to the (GE) service department within seconds (see above-it did not take me 7+ days to contact them). The manufacturer (not Beesons) was out to fix my washer within days and the problem was solved! During my conversation with the repair man from the manufacturer he asked me who had been doing the repairs on it so far. I told him Beesons. While he didn't come right out to say anything, his "uh huh" indicated he's had similar experiences-maybe, maybe not!?!? I've worked in all parts of the service industry myself so I understand problems can happen but to not return calls and just leave a customer hanging is unforgivable. I tried repeatedly over 6 weeks to give Beesons service department the benefit of the doubt that they might be doing all they could but the results speak for themselves. If I hadn't taken matters into my own hands I'd still be waiting today as I write this for the repair to be done! I hope my experience was an odd exception but to have so many phone calls not returned makes me skeptical. Because of this experience I won't do business with Beesons ever again even if I found a good deal in their sales department. I don't like reporting a bad experience like this but feel it's important to warn others so they can make an informed decision. With Beesons being a local, non-chain business I'd hope they could do better but my experience with them fell way short.
Description of Work: In August 2011 I purchased a new washer/dryer set from Beesons. The sale went through and delivery was right on time-no problems. One of the things Beesons likes to promote is that their service department is local so any problems can usually be checked out in very short time. I had a noise issue with the washer from the start, called their service department and that's when things went wrong.
