We scheduled the start date for a monday morning at 10:30.At 10:10 they called to cancell and said they would be there the next day.Tuesday morning they called at 8amm, to let me know that they were not gonna make it.I was mad because I had taken of work and their excuse did not sound very convincing.So we rescheduled for the following week and they came monday morning and started working on the basement. I didn't have to be home while they were working on it so off to work I went.I thought I might get an update throughout the week but I did not here from them until thursday, when they told me they could not mak it again becaus eof the weather.They did however ask me if we liked the work they had done so far.I asked them to call me back the next day to let me know what day they were planning on finishing and to let me know the exact amount so I could write a check.They did not call me back so I called again the next day to get the information I needed. They finally finished on friday and called me to let me know they were leaving the house now. Overall I'm satisfied with their work.The basement looks good and it only took them 5days. The lack of communication however was dissapointing. It made them look unprofessional. I did not feel like I knew what was going on and when you are paying almost $7000 you wanna make sure that everything is going the way its supposed to.

We had water pooling in our crawlspace even in the driest months and some of the supports for the house were rotting. The initial home inspector said the water was temporary and the wood was all old damage and wasn't progressing, but over the next few years it seemed to be getting worse. We had bugs and mice in the house all the time, and I decided it was time to find a long-term solution. I found these guys on the web, and they seemed like exactly what we needed. Things started well enough - the rep (Gary) was able to come quickly and arrived promptly, despite driving up from Indianapolis (they have no permanent representation in Lafayette). The inspection was thorough and seemed sensible: He didn't over-estimate the problem, but didn't sugar-coat the extent or cost of the solution. The work was done quickly and professionally by a team of laborers who did a great job working in horrible conditions (wet, muddy, hot, dark 2' high crawlspace). They did forget to seal the vents, and missed sealing a conduit that inexplicably drained *into* the crawlspace, and this is where our problems began. The conduit appeared to be the source of water pooling on top of the vinyl liner, so we called to have them come back and seal it off. They suggested we call a regular heating & cooling company to deal with the conduit, which we did. When that didn t solve the problem of the water, Americrawl said it must be condensation. The heating & cooling guys said that wouldn t generate so much water, but installed a dehumidifier that drained to the sump. That still didn t solve the problem. I finally got someone from Americrawl (Lon) to come back, nearly two years after the original work was done, and we agreed on some additional work that could be done, including an improved entrance to the crawlspace that might help keep water out better. He said he d call back with an estimate, but never did. I ve called Americrawl repeatedly, and they have not returned my calls. It s frustrating, because most of the work they did the first time seemed excellent. But apparently they re not interested in repeat business.
