Description of Work: What I like most about American Automotive is that you can trust them -- it's like having a brother who's a mechanic. (A good brother.) Being mechanically illiterate, this is important to me. This last time I just got oil changed/routine maintenance (with a coupon offered thru Angie's List). I'd been to AAS twice before - once to get a problem checked out that required only a screw tightened for which they didn't charge me. When I needed some body work done, they put me onto a place that I've been well satisfied with. Last time the mechanic mentioned that I may be developing an exhaust problem -- probably a flex pipe -- but just to monitor it and they'd check it again at next oil change time. He even told me about what it would cost, if he's right about the flex pipe. Some places I've been would have pressed me to fix it now. As a bonus, I got a good tip on where to get my chipmunk problem taken care of.

 + -1 moreI always go to American Brake Service for my oil changes because they are very thorough and affordable. I went to have my brakes looked at because I knew they were shot. Once they took my vehicle back and placed it on the lift, they come and get you to show you what is wrong with your vehicle. It is great to "see" what work they will do. They explain everything that needs repairing and tell you how much it will cost. Then they asked me if I want them to perform the repairs that they mentioned. There is no pressure and they explain if a repair is something that has to be done or if it can go a little longer. I will always go to these guys because I know I can trust them.
Description of Work: I had a lot of brake work done. 2 new rotors, new pads and 2 new wheel cylinders put on. I also purchased a new battery and replaced a worn serpentine belt as well as 2 new sway bar connections because one was broke.

 + -1 moreHonesty. Professional. That sums it up. Larry runs a quality business with good people and he's an honest man. We saw on one occassion, while waiting for an oil change, a lady brought in her car for repair. After talking with her, he told her that problem should be under warranty from another store. He made a call to confirm that it was indeed under warranty. He could have done the work himself and charged her but he didn't. When they tell you something needs repaired, you know it's the truth. I trust Larry completely.
Description of Work: We have had brake drums, rotors, pads all fixed by ABS. We go to them for all our oil changes.
