+ -1 moreI latter received a call from a WM rep asking what the problem was. After I had told him all of the above,he stated that he did not understand. I asked why I was being charged more than two of my neighbors and he said he could not discuss what other customers pay due to privacy laws. I asked for an explanation of the over 100% price increase, but he refused to discuss that also. I have made other arrangements for my trash/garbage removal and now pay a grand total of $120.00 per year! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Description of Work: In 2008, I signed a three year contract with Waste Management for trash/garbage removal. This was for rental of a 6 yd fel shared container/dumpster. Note the word SHARED, because I shared it with three of my immediate neighbors. I assumed that we were all being charged equally but later discovered in 2010 that two were actually being charged much less than I. My monthly cost/rent went from $23.86 in Dec. of 2008 to $49.30 in Dec. of 2010 at the end of the contract. That's an increase of over 100% !! During this three year time , I talked to six different people at WM with absolutely no satisfactory outcome. You also need to know that the contract will automatically renew if you don"t cancel during a certain time window by sending a certified letter stating that you will not renew. I filed a complaint with the state AG office and received an e-mail stating that WM did not respond and there was nothing the AG's office could do. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and was told that they also did not receive a reply but would keep my complaint on file.
