Services we offer
General contractor for residential new construction & home improvement projects specializing in basement remodels & additions. Steel stud framing services are available for commercial projects.
The contractor was recommended by two individuals but I think that he is more experienced with new construction than remodeling. His price was high in that he included a "developers" fee on top of labor that he did himself, so I felt like I got a little reamed. My house has plaster walls and he tried to treat them as drywall and the drywall job he did was pretty shabby. I had to have another person come in and repair the wall and ceilings where he removed a wall because he couldn't ever get it to look right. When I asked him to fix it he simply said that was the best he could do. He was a nice enough guy, punctual but the job started on March 17 and was not finished until May. His subcontractor for the brick work left a mess in the back yard, tried to dump leftover concrete down a hole in my yard and we had to call him to come back and clean it up. The counter top in the kitchen slopes to the corner and water will stand in the corner behind the canisters if I am not careful. It looks like there is maybe mold growing in the grout because of the slope of the countertop. He removed some tile in the bathroom floor between the door and the hallway and never did come back to repair it even though we called. He installed wood windows in the kitchen and the sliding glass doors that had to be painted. He claimed he told me that I could have gotten prefinished windows and doors but I certainly do not recall that. I had to hire a painter to come and paint those and it was a pain. I had told him I would do the painting but did not expect to have to primer and paint the windows and doors. He did not treat the new brick that was installed on the back of the house, claiming that it would need to cure for a few months before sealing and has never gotten back to it.
