Monty guided us through each step starting with taking very exact measurements of both areas. I started then to get the impression that these aren't going to be just ordinary cabinets and I still can't believe how well both jobs turned out. The basement cabinets are a durable grade material as requested and the stained hickory kitchen cabinets upstairs are absolutely stunning - they look precisely made for both kitchens and everyone who sees them agrees and comments on the design, finish and quality of each job. My daughter and I truly have custom made kitchens thanks to Nix Miller, we are proud owners and couldn't be happier with the professionalism, service and products provided by Monty and his team from beginning to end.

Nix Miller Designs and Cabinetry Our kitchen was original to our late 1970s built home and was in dire need for an update with space limitations. We meet with our general contractor, Geoff Clore, who listened carefully to our wants and budget. It was through his insight and working on many other projects with Monty Miller of Nix Miller Designs and Cabinetry would have be the best person to bring on board to assist us with this transformation. Monty came to our home and he listened to what we wanted in our new kitchen. We didn’t just wanted cookie cutter new cabinets and a countertop, but a functional kitchen with particular storage capacity, ideal food preparation areas and to be a focal point for entertaining. When you are going to invest in a remodel that you will enjoy for many years, you are going to need to work with someone who is a good listener, patient and willing to make changes and keep making those changes so ensure you will be ecstatically delighted with the final design. This is Monty Miller. Monty provided me with an original design and with his patience we reworked the original design a few different ways to incorporate our vision of our new kitchen design. Monty was very helpful in the selection of our new cabinets from Blue River Cabinetry which is made in New Albany, Indiana and with special functions of pull out drawers, pantry, broom closet, spice rack and dual trash/recycle bins. As you are making your decision, it is very important for you to know Nix/Miller has on staff cabinet installer who did an excellent installation. Even weeks after the original installation a few drawers and doors needed adjustment. One call and Bill come out and made the necessary adjustments. I would do this all over again with Miller Designs. I was 100% happy from start to finish. I have never worked with a contractor/designer that made such a constant and genuine effort to make sure I was pleased with the work. My girlfriend was so Impressed with the way our kitchen turned out, she hired Miller Designs to do hers. And, I never would have thought hers would be as stunning as mine- but it is! My only regret is not taking before and after photos.

From the first time we met with Monty, he impressed us immediately with his knowledge, experience and leadership qualities. Monty was instrumental in getting our kitchen and bathroom cabinets designed to maximize space and meet all of our needs. Everything he promised and every curve ball we threw at him, he exceeded our expectations and everything was built and delivered on time. We had a few bids from other cabinet makers, and we are so glad we went with Nix Miller! We will definitely call on them again for our next remodel.

My wife and I have never spent this kind of money on a home project. This was a big decision for us. Monty made the process easy. He was on top of each phase of the remodel. His installer was very precise and professional. The kitchen looks amazing! We can't believe it's our home.

Monty communicated effectively and promptly. He oversaw the project from design to completion and made several visits during and after the installation of the cabinets and counters to make sure everything was perfect. He was very easy to work with - professional, courteous, friendly, experienced. With his attention to detail, I was only without a working kitchen for 5 weeks with a complete gutting and remodel. The installers that he uses are also experienced and courteous.

Everything went very well. Not many issues at all, and those that did arise were handled quickly and very well.

Lora Nix first came to our home about a kitchen remodel. I trusted her immediately. She is very professional and listens to what you have to say. Lora is skilled in incorporating her clients thoughts and ideas into her comprehensive design. Lora also does everything she can to keep her projects in motion through completion. We hired Lora's recommended contractor to carry out the demolition and build of our new kitchen and ultimately our bathrooms and master bedroom. Lora stayed in touch with both the contractor and me to make sure we were all in agreement. Also, Lora is very price conscience. She does her best to provide a very creative design while watching the costs. She also has tremendous resources and is a skilled resource shopper. When we decided to remodel our bathrooms, Lora was the first person I called. She has once again been extremely helpful with her creativity and expertise in assembling all components of the project. Lora is also fun to work with. She loves to be creative and so do I. We developed a great working relationship with both inputting ideas, but following her masterful skills at carrying them out. In the middle of the bathrooms project, we decided to finish the area by removing millwork from our master bedroom. I couldn't decide what I wanted to replace it with. I was also struggling with how to make the bed, dresser, nightstands cohesive with new cabinetry. Lora came up with the idea to make it all work together. She designed all new cabinetry for the room that includes wall hung nightstands and a king size bed. She designed this using barn wood/veneer and solid wood. These are my favorite substrates to use together and the design is beautiful. Lora is highly educated and certified in her field of cabinetry/kitchen/bath design and all that implies. She is detailed and thinks of all levels of a project. I would recommend Lora to anyone. Highly!

Working with Monty and Nix Miller Designes was a fantastic experience for my wife and I. Monty provide expert level service in assisting us with choosing the right cabinets, countertops and fixtures for our new home. His guidance and experience helped us select a stylish yet functional environment that also worked within our budget. Ordering was easy and accurate with timely delivery of our products. The installation crew were also professional and did an excellent job of installing, setting up and ensuring everything was completed to our satisfaction. We could not have asked for a better experience.

The entire process was smooth from start to finish. We were pleased with the installation and the reality of our dream kitchen that was the end product! The cabinets were high quality and fit beautifully in our farm style house. We got a combination of knotty alder and painted maple to create a unique farmhouse look that we love. Monty was great to work with and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone for a new home or remodel.

My husband and I were designing our new home in late 2013. The cabinet design provided by our builder?s cabinet team seemed so ?cookie cutter? to us. It really lacked the individual flair we were looking for. We had built a condominium seven years before and loved our kitchen design, but didn?t know where to find the designer, Monty Miller. I randomly requested information on cabinet designs from Blue River Cabinetry and received a call from Monty Miller himself! Monty sat down with Tom and I. We talked about the dimensions of our space, about the specific kitchen appliances we had selected, and about how we wanted to use our space. We do not have a ?kitchen table? so we wanted an island that would provide both work space and seating space, without interfering with the flow of the kitchen. Monty presented us with several options. .. providing valuable insight as to why one would work better than another. Monty has the experience needed to make the most of a space, without adding on things that will inhibit the function of the space as it is intended. Monty is totally hands on and follows the process from start to completion. He met with us at his office several times to perfect the design of the kitchen. He met us on site several times to help us with the dimensional layout of the kitchen. He even met us at the granite distributors warehouse to select our granite tops. Thanks to the help and expertise of Monty Miller with Nix Miller Designs, we were able to design our dream kitchen complete with adequate space and flow; as well as a design that is unique to our personality and flair.

They were very responsive and a pleasure to work with during our remodel. We have stayed in contact since the work was finished and have woked with them on getting touch up stain and a new trash bin. Truely a great company and great people to work with on any project.
