BJ Heating & Cooling

I currently have BJ Heating and Cooling on a maintenance agreement and each time they come out, they are courteous from our first conversation to the time they leave. I am a Realtor and I refer them to many of my clients. I would hire them even if I did not have a maintenance agreement.

Everyone from the person who answers the phones to the technicians who comes to my home is very pleasant, helpful, and respectful. I have had a maintenance contract with them for as long as I’ve been in my home, which is over 17 years. I have recommended BJ to friends and neighbors and will continue to do so.

John arrived on time and was very thorough checking our heating and air conditioning unit. In fact, every technician from BJ Heating and Air has been doing a fine job.

Jason (sp?) was very professional, personable and knowledgeable. He gave me a courtesy call to let me know he was on his way before my scheduled appointment time. He explained every part of the system check as he went along and provided tips on how to keep different parts of the system clean. He answered all my questions and even came back the next day to look at something I had a question about. We've had our new system for a year and have not had any issues. We've saved a lot on our monthly bill. It's a pleasure working with BJ Heating & Cooling.

Went great. Expressed concern for a noise I was hearing. The tech was honest about the part that may need to be replaced, but that my system was 21 years old and replacing that part, may not be enough in the long run for a system that old. We ended up purchasing a new system. The discounts for vets, seniors, and rebates from our gas and electric companies were wonderful. Having it installed two days from the service call! Talk about prompt service!

My furnace and A/C were installed by BJ almost 20 years ago and they have been performing my routine maintenance every 6 months, since the install date. This is the 1st time I've had to have any parts replaced in that 20 years. The tech found that there were 2 electronic parts that were still working, but the output was out of the recommended tolerance. I'm glad he found this so I could get ity replaced now instead of waiting until they fail on the coldest day of the year. Very professional and knowledgeable techs and there's never any hard-sell tactics used. I would highly recommend BJ to anyone needing repairs of replacement of their HVAC system.

Early in August, 2021 I decided it was time to replace my 16-year-old heat pump system in my home. It would be the third replacement (fourth system installation) for this home, built in 1979. The contractor I had used for the existing and previous system had performed well, but on this cycle their business philosophy had changed. Their proposal was based on my paying a monthly fee that covered EVERYTHING—capital cost of installation and all maintenance for the ten-year term of the contract. It sounded good until one did the math; the ten-year cost of the system would have been over $35,000. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know I needed another estimate. I had seen BJ Heating & AC commercials on the TV and I liked the guy who was not wearing a thousand-dollar suit. I called, and Barry Nickles was at my home and quoted me the premium system I asked for. He also listened to my complaint that my ductwork had been excessively noisy for the past forty years, and we agreed on relocating the new HVAC heat pump unit in my basement to cut down air turbulence in the ducts to cut the noise. His price for the complete job was considerably less than half the “all-inclusive” contract the other folks were hawking. On August 17, the installers came. They dismantled and removed my old system, modified my ductwork and installed the new system complete with a new thermostat and wiring. They left the place as clean as they found it. I was back up and running in less than a day–-more like six hours! The work was first-class. They didn’t hurry, and they didn’t cut any corners. I have had six weeks experience with this new Bryant Evolution™ System. It is the quietest system ever to run in this forty-year-old structure. I can’t hear it even though I have the fan set to run continuously on low speed. I watch the electronic thermostat display often to see what it’s doing and it tells me; I see it “cooling” or “dehumidifying” and lately in the cooler weather it’s sometimes “heating.” It’s worth noting that the electronic controls can be internet-enabled, but I purposely haven’t bothered. This system has been running just as installed with no interference from me. In addition to the quiet operation, the dehumidifying function is great. All the older systems were heating or cooling ONLY. There were times when the humidity would get noticeably uncomfortable, mainly in early fall or late spring when cooling or heating loads were slight. This new Bryant system monitors BOTH temperature and humidity, and never seems to miss a beat. Not only is the comfort wonderful, but also my basement feels “dryer” and the development of whitish mildew on some surfaces has stopped. That alone makes this system worth the price of admission. My bottom line is: I am a happy camper. I hired the right contractor and they did a fine job at a reasonable price. I will happily employ their services twice a year for a system checkup and cleaning (which also serves to keep my ten-year parts plus labor warranty in effect).

BJ Heating and Cooling installed our HVAC system 5 years ago. As part of the purchase we received 10 years of routine maintainance. Every 6 months they call to remind me and schedule an appointment. The techs arrive on time, get straight to work and answer all of my questions. From the customer service over the phone to the techs that do the work, this company is first class. I highly recommend them for your HVAC needs.

The service was great from the first call. We were having issues with our 13 year old HVAC system. They were able to get someone to the house the next day. Our system was making a loud sound but didn't make it while the tech was here. He replaced an inexpensive part based on what I told him was happening. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the issue so I called again and two techs came the next day and was able to hear the sound. It was determined that repairs were going to cost over $1000 and we had already been researching new systems. After discussing different options with the techs, we decided to purchase a Bryant Evolution system. The installers were here a week later and took less than 5 hours to complete the work. Our new system is so quiet and I can't wait to see how much we'll save on our electric bill. Thanks to Caleb, John, Jayson, Dave and his associate (I didn't get his name). The whole process was seamless and we're happy that we purchased a maintenance plan so we can continue to work with such great people.

It’s in the works. He came out here on Christmas Day and we are scheduled for Wed. They gave us a portable heater to use till then. We are cold but not freezing

Great. I was finishing an unfinished space on my second floor that the HVAC was in. I wanted to replace the 30+ year old unit before I built a closet around it and needed venting to the room that would be finished. BJ gave me a great estimate on my unit and the work. I've had an annual maintenance contract with them since. They call me when it's time and show up when they say they will. Knowledgeable and courteous.

Well worth the money. Caleb called to say he was on his way. Actually arrived a few minutes early very professional, courteous. In fact I have never had bad service or products from BJ Heating&cooling. They are professional, fair priced, good communication, prompt. Can’t say enough good about them

Barry came out and provided a quote which I compared to 3 other providers. His pricing was competitive but what won me over is their commitment to making sure I was happy not only with the installation but also the air flow which was a problem in the past. They had 2 installers who worked on the air flow for 4 hours to get it just right. Strongly recommend them to anyone!

We contacted this company to check our air conditioning unit as it wasn’t cooling our home during a heatwave. They came out immediately and checked the system. Confirming what we suspected that it needed completely replaced. With the current situation we were not in the position to spent this kind of money. Instead of pressuring us like several other companies they recharged the system for us, even though its a temporary fix it provided the relief we needed. This is the first company I have dealt with that honest, had integrity and a moral compass and wasn’t out to do a money grab. We will definitely work with then next Spring to replace our entire outdated and unreliable system. I highly recommend this company and you can be sure they have your best interest and no pressure.

Arrived on time and thoroughly cleaned and check the indoor and outdoor units. BJ installed my furnace and they've done all the semi-annual maintenance on the unit. Even though the system is 18 years old, I was informed that it is still in tip-top shape. I credit that to excellent equipment and continuing maintenance. All of their service techs are very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend them anyone. They also installed systems for both of my sons.

The techs at BJ Heating and Cooling have been most helpful and very efficient in their install. The flow of paperwork for the new unit was flawless and provided us a great deal on the new unit. Prior to their install, they facilitated the charging of our old unit - for free - to keep cooling until the installation of the new unit; this gesture suggests that the company is not only looking to get your business but also genuine concern for our needs.

We are thoroughly impressed by BJ hvac. We received estimates from four companies. BJ was upfront and honest about all our choices. They did not try to push the most expensive unit, but best for our home. They fixed the pad our old unit sat on as well as the duct inside. BJ went above and beyond! They were on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and left no mess. We love our new system. We will definitely be referring BJ HVAC to others!
