Dennis has been providing lawn care service for us for the past 2 months. He does a great job mowing the front and back yards. When we moved to our home in June, our lawn had not been mowed for over 2 months. For the first 3 weeks, he came out weekly to help get the grass in control, and afterwards, he has been coming bi-weekly. We plan on using him for tree trimming and garden maintenance. We would definitely recommend him to others.

Mr. Hayes and his crew did a great job and were very professional. I was very pleased and would use them again.

Dennis was great to work with, our project was completed in one day and the crew worked hard all day to complete the project. Dennis took the time to come back out to clarify plans/design prior to the job being completed. Well priced. Multiple projects completed including installing metal edging around mulched beds and trees, designing and planting flower bed, installing plants around power boxes, burying downspouts

The service of lawn aeration was adequately done, but during the process, he punctured through our Invisible Fence. There was a sign on our mailbox indicating that we have an Invisible Fence, and he never asked us about it or warned us that he was not responsible for damage done to it. Having never had our lawn aerated, I never considered the possibility. However, the fence was indeed punctured and we had to pay for the Invisible Fence Company to come out and repair the fence. Although the lawn aeration provider was somewhat apologetic, he told us we should have told him about the fence beforehand.

Went great. This is the third year I've worked with Dennis. Very professional, do a terrific job. Appreciate the clean-up and attention to detail. No complaints....will work with them again next year.

They did it and I wanted to ask them a question. They were schedule to do it and I've had it done before at another house and I actually could tell they had done it. But with this company, I really couldn't really tell right away if they had done it but they said they had done it and I do think my yard looks better. I remember seeing holes where the plugs kind of came out and everything. In the past I've had it done. I think at that time I wasn't sure as I said but as I look at my lawn because we've had such a bad summer before which is why I chose to do it, I think the lawn looks pretty good now. I thought it was a good price because I have a pretty large front yard. They contacted me and set it up and when I contacted them, I asked if they've been there and they said yes and they were responsive to me. It was done well when I was gone and they did it in the day they were supposed to. I didn't have any issues with them. I had basically a phone call to set it up and then that was it, I even had an e-mail but I forgot exactly how we communicated.

We bought a big deal for Dennis and his crew to do aeration and over seeding on our lawn. Dennis contacted us quickly after that purchase to give us a heads-up about scheduling a time to do the work. It was scheduled and done within 2 weeks of that time. The crew that came worked quickly and professionally. We also had Dennis look at parts of the yard where the grass seemed to be in pretty sad shape. He said that it was grub damage and gave us an estimate to fix up about 2000 sq ft of the lawn (remove and reseed). At the time, we opted to postpone that because our yard will be partially torn up in the near future for sewer work. However, the rest of the yard seems to be doing much better now.

I had talked to Dennis Hayes on phone twice about having my front yard aerated and over seeded, and was a very shady area. I was unable to be home when the yard work was done. Dennis arrived end of day and did not have his notes. My wife told him I was only wanting front yard aerated and over seeded. A few minutes later, she noticed someone was aerating the back patio area, and Dennis again knocked on door, and my wife again informed him only the front yard was to be aerated and over seeded. When I came home I saw very few seeds on top of ground, but could be expected if buried by the aeration, but problem was I saw few (if any) on the ground where the plugs did not exist, which made me wonder if I got "short changed" on the seeding. When I called Dennis about the apparent lack of seeds, he apologized for not having his notes with him, and that the over seeding was properly performed, and he would not charge me for the back yard portion he was not suppose to work on anyway (which was a small area). I noticed the seeds were not germinating, but was a wet April and may have been the cause. I called Dennis about this and he said he would come out and look the yard area over, and re seed and rake some seeds in. He never did come out or call me. Overall, based on the $99 spent, it was a reasonable price for the front yard, as I have had quotes before on my full 35,000 square ft. yard. Therefore, the price was competitive without a Bill Deal Offer. However, I cannot give Dennis an overall A because he seemed too disorganized when things go wrong, and I will still never know if I was "short changed" on the over seeding, or whether it was just the wet April.

I didn't see much sign the yard was seeded. I saw a few seeds on a very small bare area in the front yard, but never saw any new grass emerge anywhere. Also, the aeration seemed pretty sparse compared to when I've done it myself in the past.

They did a lawn aeration and overseed but it was not effective. Doing it in the spring was not ideal in the first place but I followed all of their instructions for follow-up and it still did not work in bringing back the grass.

Dennis was recommend, good clean up after, worked right along, consulted nicely, called on times, professional.

They did what they said what they were going to do, but I didn't feel like my lawn improved. But that may have been because I needed more work for my lawn.

I have a recently purchased property where the gardens surrounding the house have been ignored for years. Several others in the neighborhood have used Dennis Hayes and highly recommended him. Dennis came out and we agreed to have him completely remove all the evergreens, vines and weeds surrounding the house, as well as leveling and edging it all. This took him a full day. After that, we discussed some further options for landscaping and redirecting water away from the house. He has a good vision for what would look good and recommended various trees and plants. He came out the next week and completed the landscaping. Some of the existing plants that were in pretty decent shape he moved so they would have the right amount of light exposure. He planted several trees, shrubs and plants, then mulched. Regarding the guttering, he made sure the water was directed away from the house and also wouldn't wash away the mulch. In a couple spots he extended the drainage underground. We are extremely pleased with the results! Dennis is a very professional and friendly guy. He seemed very happy to work with us on designing a landscaping plan that would look good as well as keeping costs to a reasonable amount. I would most certainly use him again.

The service worked out pretty well. He had called and had to reschedule, and then the day he was coming, his machine broke and he ended up using another machine, but it ended up well. They yards look better than the 13 years that I have been here.

The service provided several months ago seemed to really help our yard. The lawn is only a year old (new home construction) and was in pretty rough shape in the back where only seed was originally put down. I'm guessing that due to the lawn service provided, as well as the wet and cool spring, the backyard has really begun to fill in. I'm looking forward to getting this service done again in the fall.

We purchased an aeration/overseed package through the "Big Deal" offer. After purchase, we received immediate contact from the owner and an approximate date for service. Weather caused some havoc with the schedule, but the company kept us updated with their scheduling plans and ultimately squeezed us in a bit early to beat some additional coming weather. Throughout all of this, the contacts were very professional and accommodating. Well done.

Everything went great. Highly recommended and I would definitely use them in the future.

I called Dennis to come out and give us an estimate on a solution to stop soil erosion due to rainwater running off the road and down a steep hill into a ditch beside our driveway when it rained. This has been an issue for a while, but a lot more soil has been eroding this spring with the heavy rains. I was able to get an appointment with Dennis quickly, and he recommended placing large gray limestone rocks (rip rap) over erosion control fabric in the affected areas to address the erosions issues. In addition, he recommended using some excess soil to lessen the grade of the steepest hill. We talked about different options, such as planting ground cover in some areas. In the end, I decided to go with rip rap. I received an estimate fairly quickly via email. (I didn't initially receive it by the expected date, but Dennis followed up with me before I even contacted him to ensure I received it. When I hadn't, he resent it.) I felt the price from Hayes was a good value considering the amount of work they scoped out. Overall, Dennis was very responsive to questions I asked via phone and email. However, I did have to contact Dennis a couple of times to get a tentative start date determined once we decided to go with him. They started as planned on the expected date, though. Dennis called me that morning to let me know they were getting started. I arrived home from work before they had finished, so I was able to see their work and talk with Dennis a bit. They were meticulous in their installation by hand placing each rock to get them to fit together better (as opposed to just dumping a load of rock and having it look haphazard). This made it look much nicer, in my opinion. We just got a heavy rain this week, and the rock is doing its job by slowing the flow of water into the ditch. I appreciated the care they put into the job. I would recommend them and would use them again.

I purchased this Big Deal, but I was looking for them to come do the work up at my daughters home in Fishers. When I called they informed me that Fishers was out of their territory. He was very polite about this, but he could not perform the service for us.

scheduling was a bit difficult due to weather so not a problem with provider. Provider arrived with one assistant and sent assistant to do the back lawn. The assistant was extremely unprofessional in a manner that was offensive. The provider did apologize for the act of his assistant and was truly mortified by the incident. I doubt it will happen again. The actual aeration was performed although I would have liked the yard to be gone over more than once.

Arrived on date scheduled. Aerated and seeded the lawn.

I was not home. I did not schedule an appointment. They did attempt to call me but one day I came home and Hayes had been to the house, aerated I saw no seed and I saw some areas that had nothing done. I know they came, I know some services were performed but my yard remains the same. I still need to see, I need to reaerate and they came to the house without an appointment. I would like it reseeded and done over but I doubt that will happen, so next time I will just do it myself instead of calling a provider.

I purchased this Angie's List Big Deal in February. It started off well -- he contacted me and gave me a date in early March. We had the 10 inches of snow at the time he was to do the service. I thought he would call to reschedule. I emailed, and then finally called. He had lost his phone, so he couldn't call me. He scheduled again, but when the day came, he said the ground was too wet -- and we HAD gotten a lot of rain. By this time, mowing season had begun. Since I had prepaid, I think I was relegated to the second tier -- he had to keep up with his mowing obligations. I began to raise a stir and after three more contacts by me, he came to do the work. I had asked that he mow first because it was in need. After saying he would, he then recanted because he only had a riding mower. I wasn't home when he came to do the work. I did see some aeration marks in the ground, but I saw and still do not see, any grass seed, or any seedlings. I was so disappointed, I didn't even check the back yard to see if he had done anything there.

Very nice and very professional. The rain caused many delays. One appointment was missed but provider did not remember making it. Owner always called back and was responsive. The aerating does not seem to have helped my lawn.
