I called them because I saw their truck in our neighborhood. They were fine and did a good job. They laid tarps down on the floow and cleaned up after themselves well. The job was done thoroughly.

To their credit, they told me that it did not have to be cleaned. I had them look at my dryer vent, which they also told me was in good shape. My chimney cage had come off, and they told me that a raccoon must have taken it off, and even showed me the evidence. He replaced the chimney cage for me, fastening it on permanently, and it is actually guaranteed for life. He even gave me some advice on maintaining my dryer, and showed me where my dryer sheets had caused a waxy buildup on my screen. I appreciate their helpfulness and their professionalism. They always do a good job, and I will continue to see them.

They were on time, courteous, knowledgable and responsive. Their price was good, too. They accidentally dropped a brick down our chimney, which is rare. They were very concerned about it and refunded the price of the candelabra in our fireplace. They offered to clean the floor where the soot spread. They've done good work for two other houses on our block too.

Joe Sauter is an amazing person. Our chimney cap was blown off by a severe storm. He determined the chimney cap needed replacement and he made an additional trip to his shop to provide us a temporary cap for protection from bad weather while we waited for the ordered piece to come in. After the part came in, Joe returned and replaced the chimney cap. It looks functional and good and solid Joe is really an interesting and engaging person to talk with. In talking to Joe, I realized he takes tremendous pride in his knowledge of his craft and, as a result, I asked him to clean the fireplace. We have had our fireplace cleaned 4-5 times, but none had the equipment that Joe has nor were they as efficient. After seeing what a spectacular job Joe did in cleaning the fireplace, we asked him to clean out our dryer vent. Our dryer vent had been cleaned out by another local business perhaps a couple of years earlier due to a bird nest's being built in the vent. Again, Joe had equipment that made the prior serviceman's pale by comparison. After Joe ran his brushes down the vent, there was an amazing amount of remaining bird nest that the prior cleaner had missed. Why use any other chimney sweep/dryer vent service?

I've used Joe before, on time, polite, cleans things up, knows his business, price is competitive. He also took a quick look at my gas burning fireplace chimneys to see if they needed cleaning (they don't now but he explained what to look for if that changes). Would certainly recommend and use again.

As soon as the snow melted and we had a decent day of February weather, Joe came out to reinstall the cap. He came within a week of my call. On the day of service, he was punctual, quick, and professional. Plus, I was pleased to learn that there was no charge because the cap was under warranty - a fact I would not have known had Joe not looked it up himself. I only wish I had more chimneys so I could use Your Chimney Sweep more often - compared to other service providers, Your Chimney Sweep is a pleasure to work with.

Excellent. They came out to clean the chimney and discovered that we had a split in the piping. As a result, we could not use the fireplace. They took photos to show me the damage. We hired them to replace the piping. Initially, they suggested that as we were unable to really look at the old insert. When the piping arrived, they were able to get into the area and discovered that the top of the insert was deteriorated to the point it would have the be replaced. They ordered the insert. They arrived and were going to have to open the back wall of the house (this is a corner fireplace which is inside the house, rather than a separate chimney) so they were able to coordinate with Bone Dry Exteriors to remove my siding so they could access the wall. They removed a part of the outside wall and a stud, then removed the insert and totally replaced everything. When doing the work they found that the builder, or whomever installed the fireplace originally, had not met code. The fire stop was in the wrong sopt, and they had tossed insulation all over the top of the back of the insert which had actually scorched. I now have a professionally installed fireplace that will function safely. Fantastic job. I fully and totally recommend this company. They are outstanding.

He was very clean and neat in fact I think the house is cleaner than before he came. He is coming back in the spring to do it again. He was very professional and knowledgeable.

He was running late, but the office called to let me know what time he expected to be there. He was on-time and got right to work. He covered the entire work area to protect it from dirt. Then, he looked at the fireplace and explained its parts to me. He explained how to build a fire correctly, the different set-up for burning wood versus burning products like DuraFlame logs, etc. He then cleaned the chimney and fireplace with a large brush and vacuum. He also visually inspected the fireplace and chimney, pointing out "OK" cracks and gaps in the panels that make up the fireplace and letting me know what to look for to know when the cracks were too wide, meaning the panels would need to be replaced. He also checked the operation of the damper. Finally, he cleaned everything up, asked about the number of fires I expected to build to enable him to estimate when the chimney would need cleaned again and went on his way. Overall, the experience was friendly, thorough and informative. I already have recommended the company to friends looking for a chimney sweep.

Second time we've used them - both times have been very professional, quick and helpful.

On 26, September 2008, we had a technician from Your Chimney Sweep come out to inspect our wood burning fireplace (we do this once per year). That cost was $169.00. (This was the first time Joseph Sauter, owner, had not personally done the inspection, he must have been busy that day.) Later in the year, we started using the wood burning stove when the weather became cold. We noticed problems with the stove and decided to call Your Chimney Sweep to get Joe himself to come out and look this over. We called Your Chimney Sweep and Joe came the next day. There was a problem with how the smoke was leaving the fireplace. He fixed that and saw that some bricks were in need of repair in the interior of the fireplace. He ran to the hardware store, came back, and fixed the brick problem. He did it for the nominal fee of $25 (full disclosure: we gave him a big Christmas basket of goodies, too!). Bottom line: Your Chimney Sweep is a great place to call for any fireplace issue. Just ask for Joseph Sauter to come out to do your work!

Joesph did a very complete cleaning job. He laid out a large tarp on my carpet in front of the fireplace, and did not leave any mess in my house.

Called the company in early March to come look at chimney. Mutually agreed to cancel first appointment due to snowfall. After inspection of chimney, determined that sealer around base needed to be fixed and suggested replacing the chimney's cap. Technician stated that this was not a guarantee that the leak would stop, as there was significant water damage inside the chimney. The seal was applied and the cap was replaced. However, the leak was not solved. Eventually, cracks in the mortar were sealed on the side of the chimney, which seemed to stop the leak. However, this was not until mid-summer, after several very hard rains had occurred. My 2 criticisms are: 1. The receptionist is not much a receptionist as she did not return phone calls promptly and it often took several days to get in contact with the company. 2. It seems that cracks in the mortar should have been fixed first, rather than last, as it was probably the least expensive thing to do. They did not charge us for this. I take their word that the sealer and cap service needed to be done, but it would have been nice to stop the water quicker.

The problem came back, so apparently it wasn't the cap!

It was great. Joe arrived and got all his equipment ready. We had removed a wood burning insert that had been in for about 20 years and we haven't used it in over 10 years. Joe let me know all the issues we had with the fireplace since removing the stove. Also gave information on how to repair. We did get a new cap installed since the old one had rusted out. We will definitely use them again!

My initial call was answered promptly, and price estimates were given to me over the phone. They were able to come out just about as soon as my schedule would allow. I felt they made a very thorough inspection of the gas furnace chimney in my 1930-era home, took pictures, and explained what needed to be done very clearly. All warranties and guarantees were fully explained. When they were finished, all work areas were left cleaner than before they arrived and I felt confident that my chimney is in good shape for the foreseeable future. Very professional and friendly. I would definitely use them again or recommend this company to others.

They were on time, very professional. Very patiently took the time to answer questions we had. He even made friends with the dog.

We especially liked that during the estimate, they showed us "before" pictures that allowed us to completely understand what the problems were and how they proposed to fix it; then they also showed "after" pictures so we could see what had been done. They found issues other companies missed. While we didn't like the extra cost, we do appreciate that the job was done right. You don't want to short cut a fix of a potential fire hazard and if you want the job done right, call Your Chimney Sweep. No kidding.

They were very organized and professional. They were a little late, though, in showing up but the office called to let me know.

The work went very well. I was very pleased. I thought they were a little expensive but I don't have anything to compare it to.

I was not very confident in how my gas fireplace was performing. I told Joe I wanted to be educated. He took the time to fill me in on all of the details I needed to know. He also checked on the roof, sealed around the cap on the chimney pipe and let me know that for now things were okay. He also took digital photos while he was on the roof and showed my a couple of things I should keep an eye on.

Over all it went very well! They were very pleased with the service and would use them again. Felt like the price was great! they are honest and fair!! Very courteous!

Now instead of having to run multiple dryer cycles to dry laundry, the laundry is dry very quickly -- saving me money on electricity and not wasting electricity. The price was more than estimate because instead of a straight cleaning job, they had to redirect vent/create new opening in wall so there was more labor involved.
