This whole process was a nightmare from the start. The first meeting with the salesman was July 15 2024 when he did our estimates. We told him we were on a tight schedule since I work in the Ag industry and fall was fast approaching. We needed the windows installed before harvest started and before it got cold out. The salesman told us that would be no problem getting the windows and getting them installed when we needed them installed. The windows took longer then he told us to get made. He told us 2-3 weeks to get them made and would be installed as soon as they were done. Was about a month and a half before they got done. So we are in September now waiting on the install. It took the install crew 3 different trips out to finally complete the installation. They were going to leave the outside of the windows uncaulked to seal them up from the weather until I complained. Finally had to talk to the owner of this store since the Lafayette IN office was giving me the run around. Here it is November 5 and I'm still waiting on my invoice to pay my bill. The owner of this franchise would only give me $500 off my bill for this months long nightmare. We had another estimate from contractors we used before and their windows were $5000 less, for the same windows, but they were honest about their lead time for installation and it would have been later then our salesman promised for install. Turns out we could have been done with everything by now if we went with the other company, had much better installation process, and saved $5000. Will never buy anything from Window World again. They aren't truthful about manufacturing lead times or installation lead times. They first told us they were 3 weeks out on the installations after the windows were ready. I had to call and complain to get them put in sooner. Terrible company to deal with and will never recommend to anyone.

The billing office has no clue what's going on. Every time I try to get my account resolved I get a different person and answer. They started charging my account before work was done and took 3 weeks to finish the job after initial install but they want to be paid before work is done. I had problems with my deposit too. Very unprofessional and do not recommend. I have found several windows incomplete and one window has had a seal fail causing water damage to the drywall. It's barely been a month since work started. Company refused to remedy the issue until I give them more money. I'm probably going to have to hire another company to remedy the issues and take this to small claims. If you want things done right stay away.

I got an estimate from Window World for 9 windows in front of the house and kitchen window. I had 5 windows in back of house that we replaced a few years ago from Menards and wanted to match them. I had 2 other window companies out pryer to Window World and they went out back to see existing windows to match them. The salesman from Window world(Ward) did not. We did however, go in front and look at 4 windows that the wood had rotted. He then held up a swatch that matched the gutter downspout , which was the same color of the existing windows in back. We agreed that was the best color match. He told me the color was almond. He gave me a brochure with the colors and details about the windows. I decided to wait to make my decision because I couldn’t afford all 10 windows . After looking at all three quotes, and taking that brochure and holding it up to the existing windows in back of house, I decided to replace the 4 rotted windows and the kitchen window with Window World because they were the cheapest. BAD decision! I was warned by one of the other companies that the cheapest is always the best. Please do your research and read reviews! I put half down on the windows and they called a few days later with the installation date. It was 5 months out, which I was ok with because he did say they were very busy. After I paid 1/2 down , I never got a copy of any contract for me to sign. So for 5 months I had a color in my mind and a brochure with that color that I thought I was getting. When they finally installed the windows I go out and look at them and they were way lighter and did not match my gutters, downspout , or garage door. After calling them and talking to the salesman, they said they couldn’t do anything because that’s the color I chose and I couldn’t go by the color on the brochure because it didn’t match the real color ! I finally convinced the salesman to come out and physically show me the color on his sample chain that I supposedly chose . Of course it didn’t match the downspout, but when I saw the next color from that, I said that’s the color I chose. He got irritated and said that’s to dark, remember.? Then held it up to the downspout and it matched!!! I told him that was the color I chose and he yelled he had been doing this for Twenty years and the homeowner chooses the color and he got in his car and left me standing there trying to talk with him. He knew he was wrong!! I called Scott, the supervisor, I guess, and told him that when Ward found the color that matched he got mad and drove off. He told me unfortunately that was the color I chose and there’s they can do. And they told me I couldn’t go by the brochure. I told him then they need to make brochures that show the true color and I wanted to talk to the owner of the company , and he hung up on me! So unprofessional! If they don’t agree with you, they walk, drive away or just simply hang up on you! As Scott did with another lady on a Yelp review. This company should not be in business.

Window world arrived at our house at 8 am. Prompt. They worked so so hard all day long and took off their shoes when they came inside and wore masks. Very very polite. They finished more than 20 window in 12 hours. Brett West, Tony Ping and James Bradshaw were our installers. The best ever . We cannot give one complaint about Window World and their installers. Thank you so much for a job well done. Matt and Teah Mcdowell. PS. Andrew our sales guy was excellent to work with and so very nice

Windows looked great initially, then we noticed they were all streaky. Window World came back out and noticed glass was installed backwards in the windows themselves so the coating was on the wrong side. One person made a mistake. They reinstalled new windows promptly and fixed the mistake. Love the new windows! They were thousands cheaper than competitors and had good customer service. Recommend.

We called Window World a few months ago for a quote on new windows. Andrew was our sales rep and he did a great job of giving us a demo of the windows and took measurements. He gave us a few quotes and was much more reasonable that a quote that we received last year. After we placed our order, we set up an installation date that was about 2.5 months out. They are rather busy, so plan accordingly when considering ordering windows. When the installation crew came out, they were prompt, polite and did an awesome job. They were super efficient and had everything installed and cleaned up the same day. They first went around and prepped each window, then started going the installation. After installation put in insulation and caulked both inside and out (which they did a great job with. Overall I am very pleased with how our windows turned out and I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I had 14 windows installed. The team removed the old windows (including storms), installed the new ones, caulked and sealed each one.

The best thing we can say is that they refunded our window deposit. We ordered a patio door first, to test Window World's product, service delivery, and support, before ordering 18 double hung Windows to replace the original 16 year-old builder-grade windows in our Pulte house. There were some delays with the door order, which were not communicated to us proactively, but updates were readily available when we called for them, which seemed fair enough. Our installation had to be rescheduled a couple of times due to weather & schedule conflicts on both sides, but the subcontractors that installed it were pleasant and seemed efficient. The only surprise was that they sent 4 men to put in just 1 door, which seemed a bit much. They worked well together, though, and fast; if memory serves, they removed and replaced the door and cleaned up in less than 2 hours. While clearing away the debris from the work, one of the guys accidentally kicked over one of our solar patio lights, snapping the post, though we were easily able to get over the broken light... We made a quick call to the manufacturer for a replacement, expecting to have to pay handsomely for it, but they replaced it free by mail, even though it was 3 years old, and the warranty surely did not cover inadvertent trampling by contractors. What a nice surprise! The door was noticeably quieter, lighter, and smoother to operate than the one it replaced. After a couple months, we were convinced WW had proven themselves worthy of our window order. Their sales rep. Bill came back out and wrote up the window order. We're very detail-oriented curious people, so we had a lot of questions and a few concerns, all of which were answered and allayed by Bill & WW manager Scott, so we placed a 50% deposit & got our order in. Once again, updates were readily available when we called for them, but never provided proactively. Again, we had a couple of reschedules due to weather & conflicts on both sides, but finally the big day came, months after we'd put half down. We arranged to be off work for the full two days we were told to expect for the install. Different installers this time, who rolled up with all our windows in the beds of their pickup trucks. They'd called ahead early that morning, stating they were en route, but arrived rather later than scheduled, stating they'd had another appointment ahead of us. One parked his leaky truck in our driveway, leaving an apparently indelible stain. Because we're detail-oriented, we reviewed our concerns with the foreman, before they started unloading things, and that's where things ground to a halt. When he saw what he'd be working with, he was clear that these windows were not going to work in our house, as we were expecting, as we were promised. We'd been told they'd fit inside our existing blinds, and we didn't even need to remove the brackets. We were genuinely baffled. "Bill & Scott assured us we'd have nothing to worry about," we protested. "It'll be fine," they'd said. Bill had seen them live, and we'd sent Scott photos...The installation foreman looked over a few more of our existing windows, just to be sure. "I believe the sales guy told you these new windows would fit in here the way you're expecting, but that's not true," the foreman explained. We would have had to buy all new custom window treatments, which would have cost nearly as much as the windows themselves. We did not want that, and were not prepared to double our cost for the project. We called Scott, requested a compromise, hoping he could find some way to make this work. He redirected his installers to move on to another job, while we worked things out. He reminded us the contract didn't cover window treatments (which had never concerned us, given their assurances that there would be no issue fitting their windows into the openings with our blinds). Several calls later, over the course of the day, the best and only offer they made us was a full refund of our deposit. No apology. We were grateful the credit posted promptly to our account. We're back to the drawing board for replacement windows. Meanwhile, our door's been in for just over a year now, and appears to have a leak... We've been in the home for nearly a decade; that's never been a problem, but now each time it rains, the hardwood floor just inside that door gets wet; it's dark and discolored. We called WW for warranty service a few weeks ago. We explained the apparent leak to Scott, and were told we'd hear from someone in 5-10 days, about setting up a service call to investigate. Two weeks of radio silence later, we called back to get some answers, and got a different story. Scott asked if we'd already had someone out to inspect the caulk, which isn't covered by the WW lifetime warranty. Scott they won't send someone out to inspect for free warranty service, because caulk's only covered for a year. A defect or installation issue would have been apparent right away, he said, so an issue that shows up months later must just be a caulk failure. Upon inspection, it turned out that there was a caulk failure, inasmuch as a part of the door that should have been caulked never was. WW is clearly not willing to stand by their product and/or installation, and we're not willing to endure the frustration of trying to get honest work done by such people. We're actually kind of relieved that we have to find someone else to help fix the problem; we deserve to do business with someone better.

they were nice and polite the whole time they were lying.
Description of Work: I received an estimate for replacing 9 windows. I ask for their 189 dollar special only to find out it is an advertising trick. Is say "home of the ORIGINAL 189 dollar window" meaning they used to charge that price. So I asked what is the price of the basic window and I was told 220 dollars. I then asked for the 220 dollar windows and was told they couldn't do that because of the age of my house. They said my house had lead in it and had to charge me per window for lead clean up. I told them all the Sheetrock has been replaced in my house so there is no lead. Then they said what about the trim on the outside of the window it still has lead, right? they were charging me another 25 dollars per window for lead in the trim on the out side of the house. The only issue is the house is all brick and it doesn't have any trim so there can be no lead. These people are scam artiest and should not be allowed to sell windows. Never do business with them.

Workmen showed up on time. Large picture window was made too small. All other work was completed in half a day. They ordered new large window and it took 4-5 weeks to get. Logistical nightmare... Almost 4 months since signing contract, job still not completed. Original salesman showed up, spent 25% of meeting telling us how knowledgeable he was, and how he had been in the window business over twenty years. Spent the other 75% telling us everything that's wrong with every other window company. Seemed more like he was running for office, rather than selling windows. We, like many others, decided to go with this company simply because of the price. First warning sign should have been, when we described the custom "craftsman style" grids we wanted (and paid $40 extra per window for), Mr. 20+ years of experience not only didn't know what we were talking about, (standard option in the catalog he was carrying) but had to figure out how to even price them. Told us that "it was a new one to him". Salesman then explained that there was no need to schedule a second appointment for someone to come and measure, because he does it himself. Windows were all measured, and check was written. We were given a estimated date of when windows would be in, and told that we they got in someone would contact us to schedule instalation. Estimated date came and went, so we contacted office to get a update. We were told that windows were in, (so why weren't we contacted for scheduling) and then scheduled a install date. First install date gets bumped for weather, and was exceptable, who can control the weather. New install date scheduled, and told between 9am-2pm, and we would get a call from installers when they were on the way. Morning of install, crew showed up at 8:20am, no phone call. Old windows are removed, and upon removing new windows from boxes, it's emediatly obvious that the grids were not what we ordered and paid for. Installer called office, and was instructed to install incorrect ones, and new sashes with correct grid would have to be reordered. So only choice as there were already holes in the house, was to spend two more months with really dumb looking windows. Now comes time to do octogon windows. Installer wisely decides to check them, before removing old ones. Turns out, 20+ years in the window business, doest keep you from measuring a window incorrectly by 3 full inches. Not 1/4, not 1/2, but a full three inches. Installer calls office, told to leave old ones in, and new ones would have to be ordered. New estimated date was given for second try at finishing job, and we waited. New date goes by, and we contact office to try and get update. New install date given, same 9-2 time frame. Day before install, office calls to tell us that windows did not come in on the truck as they expected, another new install date given. Morning of install (thursday) we get a call from office to tell us we were getting pushed back to friday, because installer was having trouble with his vehicle, same 9am-2pm time frame. Friday rolls around and we wait.....and wait.....and wait. Multiple calls to office to find out where the installer is, results in "he has your windows, and we have no idea where he is, and can't get him by phone". At 3:30 we contact the office and tell them that the install can not happen still that day, as we had plans and would be leaving before he could possibly be done. At 3:50 the installer shows up, and explains that his truck broke down, and he had to walk 3 miles to get the part to fix it. We explained to him that if he couldn't get it all done in 45 min, he would have to come back. He asked if he could come back the next morning around 11:30, because he already had another job very close he was doing from 9 to 11. We agreed, and rescheduled our plans accordingly. Next morning we wake to rain falling, and knew we probably wouldnt be seeing the correct windows AGAIN. So we waited to hear from installer to reschedule, and never showed and no phone call. Monday morning, we again contact office to get rescheduled and tell them we want someone to come the following saturday, as we have already taken off 4 work days for this for nothing. We were then told that it couldn't be this coming saturday, but the following saturday. I guess that will leave another good excuse for no installation, as that saturday is a Holiday. Four times we have taken off work. Four times we have rearranged our house to make maximum room for installers to work, just to move it all back. 4 times we have more than done our part, and still have only sorta half of the product to show for it. Most of which is because the job wasnt done right the first time. Last installer that came did a quick walk around, to get an idea of what he was going to be doing so he could give us an idea of how long it would take. He removed the new sashes from the boxes to make sure the grids were correct this time, and again stated he had never seen them before. (Again, one of the options in the manufacturers book that office Manger stated they sell all the time). Installer asked if there was any other problems we had come across, that he could also address while he was there. We told him that we really hadn't even opened them much, other than to clean them after they were installed because they left them filthy when they left, but we didn't know of any issues. He stated he saw some places on the outside where some spots got missed with caulking, and he would take care of that as well. I told him that was probably me, because we were told by original installers that "we would need to get some caulking and do the gaps between the new windows and the J channel. That was part of the siding and they don't do that". New installer was beside himself, and said that was absolutely rediculous. He stated that installing a new window, and leaving it unsealed to leak was crazy, and putting off the finishing of your job on the homeowner was rediculous. He pulled out the original install paperwork to look at who the original installers were, and said he would address it with office manager. As of this morning, when we talked to office manager, he was unaware of this, and couldn't give a answer as to wether or not it should have been done or not. It's now been 3 hours since this mornings call and another "let me check on some things, and I'll call you right back". I now have windows sitting in my garage, keeping me from being able to park in it or use it. I was thinking about just putting new sashes in myself, as it's only a 45 second process and atleast that much would be done. However, part of what I paid was for the original installation of the correct windows, and that still hasn't happened. I already paid for, and did caulking myself, that I'm now told should have been done with the original install. I am sure I wouldn't get a refund, if I did some of the installation. I'm also sure that a year down the road if I needed a warranty replacement, I would be told there was no warranty, because I put the window sashes in myself instead of one of their installers. So now we wait....and wait....and wait. Remember folks "You get what you pay for" If you have no job to work around, have no care for how long the process takes, have a high tolerance for BS, than you will have no problem. From this point foward, when it's time to do the rest of the windows, I will put more value of my sanity and "because it's cheaper" won't be my decision maker. On a side note.... This would have been way more tolerable with a little bit of professionalism. Repeatedly stating that it was the factory's fault that the windows were made wrong, and you cant help that. Or that you don't have control over what the installers do, is highly unprofessional. As a business, when you decide to partner with or outsource with another company or contractor, you represent them and they represent you. Their errors or good practices are yours. It's not a place to point a finger of blame as an excuse. Yes the factory made the windows wrong, and clearly didn't do a quality check before shipping them to you. However, when they arrived at window world's facility, they clearly were not quality checked by you either before they were sent to my house. Lastly....professionalism 101 If you make an error, own up to it, say I'm sorry, and make it right. After more phone calls than I can even count anymore, over a period of months, it was only in the last few days that we actually heard the words "I'm sorry" and not excuses. I will make a new posting/review if and when this is ever brought to a close.

We have been shopping for new windows for over a year and talked to a lot of different companies. Overall we went with Window World because of the overall value, price, and payment options. We placed the order with the sales representative, the next week he contacted us with the installation date which was approximately 6 weeks out. Everything went as scheduled and the installers were AWESOME! One of the windows was initially measured wrong by the sales person, so all of the windows were installed except for one. They remeasured and ordered the window the next day and had it installed within 4 weeks. Overall, I thought it was a good experience and we will be using them again when we do the next phase of our window project!

It took them only two days to rip out and replace/install the entire job! They replaced the windows to the exact measurements of the previous windows, fabricated all sill and trim work to match the old, and caulked the entire job to my satisfaction. When I mentioned that I would like further caulking on the basement windows, the worker went with me to the windows and caulked them to my satisfaction. They cleaned up their own mess, which was unbelievably minimal, and hauled all old materials and trash away at no extra cost. When I had a complaint from the historic association about the windows needing muntins applied to make them look like the original piano key windows, Jeff the owner actually went with me to the hearing, and helped me work with the IHPC to an agreement that was satisfactory to all, then he and one of his workers came to my house at no extra charge and installed the muntins. Use this company. They follow the golden rule: do unto others as you want others to do unto you. Thanks Jeff for your patience, tenacity, and professionalism in performing my job!

One installer completed all the work in 1 working day, as far as I could tell everything was fine with windows. It was right before the weather turned cold. Then I noticed a lot of cold air coming in around windows. called Window World and same installer came out and could not find anything wrong. Yet all winter all I had was a lot of cold air coming in around windows. That was the main reason had old ones replaced, but my old ones were a lot better than new ones, now that weather is nice I noticed I can see outside around screens. I am very unhappy with these windows. I had windows replaced to increase efficiency in my heating cost. It made no difference. I am very disappointed.

Scheduled a meeting in which initial quote was given for a two story apartment rental property. WW showed up on time. Follow up window measurement date was set and they again showed up on time. Ordered the windows and there was an approximate 8 week wait for delivery to the warehouse. We finally called WW after 8 weeks and our windows happened to be in the warehouse so we scheduled an installation date. I requested that WW call me so that I could be on site on the day of installation. Weather was not so great and I was never called about the intial installation cancellation. I finally called the office and they told me that the weather was too bad so I stressed that I wanted to be at the installation. I was told the installer (they subcontract outside crews to install the WW products) would call me. I wasn't called and actually randomly showed up the next day to discover that installation had begun. I was a bit miffed but pleased they were working. The crew worked fast and hard. They had fun and there was a fair amount of coarse language and cigarette smoking. There was a fair amount of debris and most of it was removed. The aluminum trim work was great considering the lack of anything square on the building. In general, window quality was good, but the person who measured seemed to consistently have measured small as the opening around the windows were rather large and just a tiny bit of insulation was put around the windows. The crew replaced the one damaged screen that I pointed out to them. For a large project it was completed in three days and the finishing crew showed up on the weekend to complete the trim work. Overall, this is the best value out there for windows. They crew understood how to remove and install the windows though they were a bit brash. The weak link in WW is probably follow through by the office due to the fact they are very busy. If you keep on top of them you will get a great value but don't expect the process to be seamless at the great price

I purchased my windows from them in 2006. On 11/15/14 I was cleaning my windows when the sash in one of the windows broke. I also broke a vent guard on another window and the tilt latch. I immediately called them. It was a Saturday at 11:50 in the morning. The girl that answered (Melinda) told me that they close at Noon, but she would stay until she had all the information. She asked me to take a photo of the damage and e-mail it to them so they would know what part to order. She walked me through the process of taking the photo on my cell phone and then forwarding it to them. The whole process took me about 45 minutes. She said someone would call me on Monday. She was absolutely fabulous. She didn't make me feel that I was putting her out. She went that extra mile. On Monday Ashley called me and told me the part was ordered and it should be in within two weeks. On November 25th she called and said it was in. We scheduled them to come out on December 8th between 9:00 and Noon. At 10:30 that day they called and said they would be there in 10 minutes. It took 15 minutes and everything was done. They were great. I thought customer service was a thing of the past. Window World proved me wrong. This whole thing cost me nothing. A lifetime warranty is only as good as the company. I would highly recommend them.

We did have to reschedule the appointment for the installation a couple of times. They completed all of the work in one day and cleaned up well. My experience with them was fine.

Date(s) of Service: Tuesday, August 5, 2014 (rescheduled); Tuesday, August 15, 2014; Friday, August 29, 2014; Tuesday, September 2, 2014 (no show); Monday, September 8, 2014 Pros: · Brand new windows · Quality windows · Decent communication with installer Cons: · Mis-measurements of windows by salesperson · Uneducated salesperson · Incorrect windows marked for replacement · Poor communication from the office · No return phone calls from the office · Last-minute rescheduling call from the office · Office promises to receive return phone call from Office Manager – never received such call · Had to call more than once to get a response from the office · No-shows from installer · Left work unfinished on two occasions (2x4’s left exposed for 2+ weeks) · Caulk spread across siding · Face prints left on the glass · Obvious miscommunication between office and installers We scheduled an appointment with Window World in December 2013. We planned to have them come out in the Spring. However, due to our own schedules, pushed the time back to the summer. When it was time to schedule, the office made an appointment with us for early August only to call the day before install to reschedule the appointment. They knocked $100 off for our inconvenience. By this time, we had removed all the casing around the four windows we were replacing, per the salesperson’s instructions. When the installers came out around 1:00 PM for the rescheduled appointment the following week, they discovered the salesperson marked the wrong windows for install. The salesperson also measured the windows incorrectly and we learned we were not to remove the casing around the exterior of the window because then the installers had nothing to wrap. I had to work from home while the installers came out. After being at our house for a few hours, they were able to place the windows in temporarily but said they had to come back to finish the job. This did not make sense because the windows were now nearly complete. My husband purchased 2x4’s for the installers for the exterior of the windows so they could wrap the windows upon completion. The installers said they only needed about three 2x4’s and ended up tripling that amount when they came back. Because of the measuring errors, Window World agreed to take off another $200. The office promised us the installers would be out earlier for the second trip, around 8:00 AM. I worked from home again for the second trip. For the second trip, the installers called around 1:00 PM and said the office scheduled other jobs ahead of ours. The installers did not show up until after 2:00 PM. When they came back, the two installers brought a third person and still did not finish the job. The head installer told me they would come back on Tuesday to wrap the windows. Tuesday came and went with no phone call and no projected completion. We gave it one more day. The installers again did not come out. I called the office on Thursday. The woman who answered the phone let me know an office manager would call me back. I received no such phone call. Instead, the installer called and told me the office had booked him so much that he was unable to get back out. The installer asked me to have patience with him and to speak directly with him. He said he would try to come out by Saturday. Saturday came and went and no installer. My husband called the office on Monday and was promised a return phone call. He received no call, so he called again later. The woman at the office said the installer would definitely be out today to complete the job. My husband also called the installer directly to speak to him about the issue. By this date, 2x4’s on our windows had been bare for over one week. I was decently satisfied with the communication I received with the installer, even though there were frustrating gaps with him, as well. The job was finished yesterday and the windows look good. My frustration now is that caulk is slapped on some of our siding and the windows are smudged (not a huge deal), though I believe these both should have been removed in the cleaning process. The installer understood our frustration and gave me a survey, which I filled out as objectively as possible. We do not intend to use Window World again, even though we are promised a lifetime warranty on the windows. Overall, my experience with Window World was negative. I felt frustrated with the entire process as it appeared a big box company did not show the care and concern for its customers. That type of customer service tends to lack these days. It took three weeks and four days to install and complete four windows in our home – a job that should be completed in one afternoon. If anyone has any questions about my review, leave a comment to my review and I’ll get back with you.

I ordered 2 windows on July 22nd. They finally scheduled an installation on 9/5. My husband took the day off of work. They never called to tell him they would not make it. He had to call looking for them. They rescheduled for the next day from 9-2. We never heard from them again. We called looking for them, the woman that answered said that she could not get a hold of the installer and she would call back. She finally called back and said that he wasnt coming and she would not reschedule until later. He had called in that morning and they never bothered to inform us. We have had all the furniture out of the way for 2 days. I spent almost an hour calling during the regular business hours and no one ever answered the phone. We have been waiting on these windows since July and now we cant get them installed or even speak with someone at the company. Our house goes on the market next week and windows were suppose to be in. They have half the window cost and will not communicate with us. I am very frustrated with this company. Their customer service is horrible. They have no respect for their customers. We will see if I can get a hold of a manger or owner on Monday. I would not reccomend them to anyone at this point.

They were a lot less than a competitor. I was very happy with the work and their professionalism and the cost. If there was a problem, they came out immediately with no wrangling. The service and quality stood out. I can't tell the difference with the windows.

This company clearly has a management problem, given my experience of them and some of the comments from other customers. I wasn't happy with the service, but having said that I will probably use them again because they have a good quality product and good prices. Tom Morris does a great job of providing estimates and helping down the line, but the problem lies in their office, and begins with their habit (based on two experiences with them) of not letting you know when the windows have arrived. Both times I have used them I have had to call to determine the status of the order. Then we had a problem with the timing of the installation - they had the windows in stock but said it would be four weeks before they could install, and this was a problem for me because of all the other work being done on the house; it would have held everything up. They were not interested in helping out until I called Tom Morris and asked him to represent us to the management. The install date was then moved up. On the day, the installers arrived late. OK, I can live with that. I then did a separate deal with the installer (cannot remember his name - might have been Sean) to replace the old window sills before installation. He used junk wood to do the job, some of it treated exterior wood, and it was so bad that my contractor had to replace it. The job only cost $150, but the installer made no effort to do a good job. Then, when they were finished, I asked the installer to clean some scuff marks off the windows, which would have taken him ten minutes tops, but I guess it was beneath him because he flat refused and then got into a big argument with me about it, phoning his office to complain that I was being unreasonable. To their credit, WIndow World employed professional cleaners to do the job, but why make such a fuss? This was a $6500 job - why not just finish up nicely by cleaning the windows? At the end of the day it was a good product and the windows looked great, but I had to rely on the estimator to get it done in a timely fashion, and I have learned that sometimes the only way to deal with them is to nag them. This is not what you expect of a professional organization.

I ordered these windows on 05/15/14. They said it would be 4-6 weeks until I would have my windows. Finally they contacted me for installation on 07/24/14. I took a day off work and waited for them, but they didn't show up. Then they called to tell me they couldn't come that day and had to reschedule me. MAJOR INCONVENIENCE! I called and asked to speak to the manger (Chelsie). The receptionist said she would call me back. I did not get a return phone call. A few days later, I called again asking for the manager and was told she would call me back. Again, I received NO return phone call. Finally they rescheduled my installation for 08/01/14. The installer was very professional and did a good job. In fact, the installer was the only one that ever apologized to me for my inconvenience. The installer gave me $50 off the original quoted price. This made me a little happier. But, the manager never did call me back until 2 days after the installation. The management of this company is very poor and you will have to wait a LONG time to get your windows, but the finished product is very nice.
