Weed Man out of Indianapolis In, franchise was sold back in Dec unbeknownst to its customers here in Lafayette who thought it was a local company. They have turned my yard into a weed/crabgrass mess this season. Had a contract with them that they didn't even fulfill. They stated after servicing my yard all season that the Fall Aeration that was in my contract they could not do because they don't have the equipment due to part of my yard having a hill???? The customer service is horrible, all kinds of people making promises and no one following through or returning calls, texts, emails, pics etc. worst company and what a waste of money! I could've done a better job doing it myself! HIGHLY DISSATISFIED!!!!!

They are persistent.

Hired weed man this spring. Have had 2 of 6 applications. So far so good, and they will be performing a free 2nd weed control after I called when weeds started to pop up again about a month after the first application.

Last year I wasn't pleased with the service. The service and results are two different things. They are responsive. In the spring it looks good. Mid to summer it looks worse. I think it doesn't look as good as I think it should for what I am paying them. The people in the office is professional. I think the people who come out and perform the work aren't as professional as they should be.

For the yearly contract, they come out 5-6 times a year. It was not quite how I wanted it to be. I had to call them back. The only time they ever come out here if they have a fertilizer to do or some regular service, weed control, fertilization etc. I would like them to come out just to do a check, just to look. Other than that I'd have to call them to come out to take a look. Just regular checks in between service visits would make me feel good. They're very responsive.

It was a unscheduled service. I haven't noticed a different when I have it done, than when I don't. They need to show me results of the service. If its working. I don't really understand. They tell me what it prevents the insects from eating your roots. I don't know how to judge if its really working. They are very responsive.

I used a Weed Man groupon last summer for our lawn needs. The spring and summer treatments went well although it took them a long time to get to our home initially. In the fall I was called 3 times by salesmen asking me if i wanted to continue with their service which I denied. On the third call I was offered a special rate for two fall treatments and because of the price I agreed. The second treatment was applied to the lawn of a neighbor down the street. GPS does show that area as the location of our home, but the house numbers are clearly displayed on each home so there is no excuse. I received an invoice for the treatment and the same day my neighbor came to my door to let me know he got a free lawn treatment. I called Weed Man and they agreed to send someone out to give me an application, but it was several weeks before they came and was late in the season. Over the winter I received at least one letter by mail that I quickly opened and threw away because I didn't want to use their services again. Turns out that the salesman in his desperation to make a sale did not tell me that I was agreeing to an annual contract. So, they showed up to my home and treated my lawn this spring while I was gone and are demanding payment from me. I was told that I was given a call 24 hours before the service to confirm, but the call is not on my phone records, I checked. Basically I feel I was scammed and am not happy and would not use them again. I have requested to have a manager call me 3 times. i did receive one call while I was unavailable, but there was no message left. I have been called three times to tell me my account is past due. Each time I ask to speak to a supervisor and am denied saying that someone will call me. My advice is don't use this company unless you are getting a really good price and then watch them carefully.

I have been getting lawn services from Weedman for a while, fertilizer and weed prevention. I had a tree removed and had trouble getting grass seed to take in the now bare patch. A Weedman sales person called offering the aeration and overseedding, with the guarantee that if it did not show improvement in the spring they would redo it. Early in March I get a call from another sales person wanting me to sign up for the scheduled lawn services and I tell him I want to wait and see if the aeration and overseeding has done any good. So, before they start any treatments I wanted to talk with someone about the previous work done. On 3/13 and 3/24 I receive emails saying someone will be out to start the scheduled services the next day. I work like everyone else, there is no way I can be there at an unspecified time in such short notice. I reply both times that I will not be available, each time I get a voice message from one of their employees saying they are at my house ready to speak with me. I reply to the company that I would like to have the lawn reseeded as promised, as the bare spots are still there. I did follow their instructions about watering the lawn before and after the overseeding. Now they have disabled my account from sending them anymore emails and no one has contacted me since I requested they come back out and redo the service. I want them to come back and aerate and reseed the lawn or refund my money.

This company knocked on my door around 8:30 pm last night when it was pitch black outside. They were canvassing the neighborhood, with people going from house to house on both sides of the street while a black or navy blue truck following them. I do not trust any company that goes door to door in the dark. Very shady. And they advertise that they've been in business in Indianapolis for 40 years, yet they have only one report on Angie's List.

It's all setup so when they come out I don't have to be home but they'll call and give me the notice that tehy're coming and do the job and also leave information on my door if I have any questions and they always call to make sure everything was in my satisfaction and answers if I have any questions. I will definitely use them again.

Weed man contacted me and gave me a free estimate to provide about 6 treatments of lawn fertilization and weed killer for about $40 each. I was a little turned off by the sales person that called me as he talked negatively of other companies and made me feel as though I didn't know what I was talking about. If my decision was based solely on the sales rep, I wouldn't have hired this company in a million years. Their price was very competitive and I didn't have to sign any contracts so I decided to give them a shot. I haven't met the gentleman that actually performs the service but he leaves a piece of paper on my door after every visit describing the services he performed. I haven't seen any weeds since I hired them, which is what I was mostly concerned about. My grass is not in amazing shape, but I am attributing most of that to the heat and the constant sun. I would really like to receive recommendations from Weed man on how to better maintain my lawn. I did have to contact them in between applications because my grass had some brown spots. The tech came out a couple days later and spread more fertilizer. They didn't charge me for this additional service, which was appreciated. I haven't hired any other lawn fertilizer companies in the past so I cannot compare them to anyone else, but so far I'm pleased.
