Vitian's Re-Upholstery LLC

Over it went well. Delivery date was delayed, but communication was good about it.

I contacted the company in June 2011 to have my sofa and ottoman re-upholstered. Vitian came to my house and we discussed fabric and pricing. Since the sofa was in good condition except for the fabric I indicated I wanted to use a very durable fabric. I purchased the material from a local fabric shop instead of buying it directly from Vitian. The charge for the sofa was $650 less a 10% Angie list discount, plus a $100 pick-up & delivery fee. My sofa was picked up on August 19, 2011. Shortly thereafter I received a call saying that I had bugs in the sofa and would need to pay an additional $350 to have it serviced. Vitian would not do any work on the sofa until I paid this charge. I had my own exterminator (who comes to my home every quarter for exterior spraying) go to the location of the sofa. When he arrived all evidence of any bugs has been thrown away and only the wood frame of the sofa remained. The exterminator found no evidence of bugs in the wood, but I agreed to have him treat the frame to be sure. I was a bit leery of the bug story since our house is professionally cleaned every other week and I have never seen any bugs in or around the sofa. It took quite a while to have the sofa returned as it was not delivered until November 7, 2011, over 11 weeks from when it was picked-up. A couple days after the sofa was returned the back area where the cushion attaches tore in two places. My children are now teenagers and do not jump or otherwise abuse the sofa, the tear happened from merely sitting down. I contacted Vitian on November 14th to explain what had happened. She came out and looked at the sofa a few days later. I was then told I had to purchase more fabric and pay her another $300 (almost half the cost of the original work) to have the sofa fixed. I find it difficult to understand why I would need to pay for a repair less than a week after receiving the sofa back. The sofa had never tore in such a fashion before. I was also told I had to pay for the repair before any work would be done. She also said I would need to now leave the cushions un-attached because of the more durable fabric, altering the design. She told me she felt the tear happened because of the fabric. Needless to say I was very unhappy with her willingness to stand behind her work. I contacted a different company from Angies list and had the repair completed in a timely fashion. They did not alter the design as Vitian said I would need to do. This repair has not had any tears or other issues. The second company completed the work a few weeks ago and I am very happy. If the tear was due to the fabric choice as Vitian tried to tell me, why has the second companies repair been fine? I have used many Angie list contractors and have had great success except for this company. I feel I was advantage of by Vitian Re-Upholstery in a number of ways.

I was very pleased with her service. She is also in the process of upholstering a sofa and two chairs. Her pricing is good.

Vitian came by in Nov 2011, and gave me an estimate. In Jan I called and told her I was ready to get the chairs done. I dropped them off and picked them up within 4 weeks. I am very pleased with their work.

We had some issues and we had to redo parts of the upholstery. In the end, things were still not a hundred percent, right now, excuse the pun but we are sitting on it. The effort was there and the customer service was there but in the end, things didn’t turn out quite right. His price was good. I would recommend him with reservations.

Vitian reupholstered 4 chairs for me. She was very friendly on the phone when I set up the appointment, and she arrived on time or even a minute before. Vitian was very professional throughout the process and she brought out fabric samples. I decided upon one, but then I had some second thoughts. I called her office and spoke with Brandy who is her assistant. Brandy was fabulous as well Brandy and Vitian discussed my needs and came up with some other options. Brandy was on the phone with me for a good half hour going over some sites that I could look at some swatches. I had a difficult color to match--a light teal. Then, Brandy had samples sent to my home so I could review them. The last swatch we talked about was perfect. Vitian just dropped off the chairs to me this week, and I'm very very pleased. Vitian and Brandy are both incredibly couteous, knowledgeable and professional. I also got a thank you card from them this week and fabric cleaning information.I am very pleased with their service, and I highly recommend using Vitian! She knows her fabrics, and she is timely and knowledgeable. ! A plus service!

She came out to our house and helped us pick out patterns that met our needs and design tastes. She sent us samples of the materials. When the chairs were done, she personally delivered them and made sure they met our expectations. She was always on time, courteous, knowledgable, helpful, and very professional. The work was done when she said it would be done. The chairs look great and we would use her again.

I purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List and my positive experience began with Brandy, Vitian;s assistant, contacting me to thank me for purchasing the Big Deal and arranging for an appointment, and ending with the delivery of my pieces. Brandy contacted me a couple of days prior to my appointment as a courtesy reminder, and Vitian arrived promptly prepared with several samples. Our appointment went quickly, since I'd already purchased the fabric. She was delightful...engaging, professional, and complimentary of my home. She gave me a due date, and I was contacted exactly on the date specified. She delivered my pieces, and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of workmanship. She had to get creative with the amount of fabric I'd ordered, but managed to use every scrap, and finish the job. I am delighted with her work, and would definitely use her again.

Vivian showed on time with several books of fabrics. We discussed color, texture, durability, and fade resistance. The fading was the primary reason for having work on chairs done. We decided on the fabric, Vivian took the chairs, did the work, and returned the finished chairs. She was very professional while also maintaining her sense of humor. She also offered her opinions, yet me make final decision. I definitely would use her again on any future project, and would highly recommend her to anyone needing her service.

Vitian came to my home with several books of fabric samples. She looked at the colors in my home and the general feel of my style of decorating and helped me in my decisions. I can honestly say that I could not have done this without her help or at least I would not have been so pleased with the outcome. Vitian was a pleasure to work with and her craftsmanship with furniture is amazing. My dining room chairs are beautiful and I did not realize just how gorgeous my antique rocker truly was. I am very happy with every aspect of my experience and have/will recommend her.

When I contacted Vitian's Re-Upholstery the person I spoke with (Brandy) her assistant immediately explified a desire to assist me over the phone. Her customer service skills were remarkable. During my initial phone contact she offered to help me save money on the labor by informing me about a coupon where they advertise. I scheduled an appointment for consultation and met with the owner Vitian Robinson on 11/3/11 . She was extremely attentive in my request for service and payed close attention to details. Ms Robinson arrived on time, was dependable is extremely professional ,knowledgable and definitely knows the craft of Upholstery. When the chairs were delivered I was extremely pleased with the craftsmanship of her work. After seeing her craftsmanship and quality of work she put in to my chairs; for all future upholstery work I will definitely hire Vitian's RE-Upholstery.

Vitian was pleasant, on time and encouraging while I wrestled with fabrics for this family treasure. Rocker was done beautifully and will provide many more years of enjoyment. Fixed dust cloth on another rocker while at the house at no charge. She is great!

Vitian picked up and delivered the chairs; she was on time each encounter. Work was excellent and she returned unused fabric. Final payment agreed with estimate.

It was a queen ann chair. She repaired a tear in the bottom. It was all positive. She comes to you and brings all her stuff with her, so you don't have to deliver the piece to her.

They were so responsive to my email and very helpful with the questions I asked about the potential cost of reupholstering the lounge. I told them I wasn't even sure if I was going to buy the piece (and I'm still not) but they've been so helpful thus far and I wouldn't hesitate to go to them for any reupholstering services.

Such a great experience! I bought an Angie's List deal because I was desperate to have them recovered, and the price was very good. But on top of that the job was amazing! Plus her choices of fabric were very good, and much less expensive than the fabric stores in town. It doesn't hurt that she's such a very sweet lady too - just darling! Chairs arrived right on time and such quality work. I'll definitely use her in the future!

We recently relocated to the Indianapolis area so have started using Angie's List for service providers. One day there was a "Big Deal” for a labor discount on reupholstering 4 dining room/kitchen chairs. Our chairs had the original upholstery which needed some updating; they were in good shape but 32 years old. After purchasing the "deal", I called to make an appointment and we quickly had a time for the next day. Vitian had asked what our preferences were for new upholstery so she brought fabric books with her. Considering she did not know us, she quickly caught on to our style and was very knowledgeable about the fabric options she brought – durability and ease of cleaning. We picked a fabric with a pattern we wanted turned and this was possible because of the high quality option offered. A delivery date was established before Vitian left with our chairs. Vitian said she would request a sample of the fabric from the manufacturer to be sent to us; the sample arrived the following week. The next week, a pleasant person called to say the chairs were done and we scheduled a delivery date – two weeks ahead of scheduled. Once again, Vitian’s arrival was on time. The chairs turned out wonderfully and Vitian thoroughly explained steps taken with the chairs – checking for loose legs, missing screws, adding fill to the seat along with the reupholster. Vitian has a great personality, professional and very knowledge of her trade; we will definitely use her in the future.

I would not hesitate to hire her again.

Her visit went well. She gave a good explanation of how the cushion would look if we used our existing newer, shinier fabric for the repair. I was impressed that she cared more about the final outcome of the cushion and couch rather than getting our business today.

Vitian was amazing. we first met on a Saturday so she could see the chairs and assess the project. This was the first time she worked with type of chairs and she jumped right in. The original cloth was a nasty, old brown. Now they are a vibrant red. Thank you, Vitian!

This was a small job and I selected Vitian's after looking at other reports. It appeared to me that she did small jobs. She has a small shop, does very nice work, job was completed in a short amount of time. She is a very nice person to work with and I will use her again

Perfect experience! Vitian came to our home, provided samples we could evaluate in the room where the chair would reside, and she gave helpful suggestions. We are pleased with the product and the pick-up and delivery. Vitian was a true professional and a pleasure to work with!
