Updike Bathroom Remodeling

The updike crew Jeff and chad were very professional,knowledgable and a pleasure to work with. They arrived on time worked all day and cleaned up at the end of their day. I cannot compliment them enough and would highly recommend them to anyone. Dan Updike and sherry were also great to work with! Over all it was a pleasure to deal with this company!

It went very well. I was very pleased with Bill Updike and his proposal but we elected to go with another provider. It was a close call though!

Out of all the different companies which included six or seven others, Updike was very personable and professional. He has a personality that shown that he was here to help and answer questions. He was even able to provide us with an idea to temporarily fix the problem until he was able to get in there and complete the work. He is a very busy guy, but he told us this up front. They are very informative, honest, and came in at a very reasonable price. They showed us all the options as well. We are going to hire him for the work and we already have a contract in play. We are very excited about having him and his crew complete the work.

The guy that came out was probably the most business like as a matter of fact he showed me samples of stuff that I could possible use.

A toilet broke in our half bathroom, ruining the existing floor. We selected Updike to repair this bathroom based on our prior experience in using this company, along with verifying their continued good rating on Angie's list and the Better Business Bureau. After getting a price for this repair that seemed reasonable to us, we elected to add some additional upgrades to the effort: replacing the toilet and vanity top in one bathroom, and the sink in another bathroom. Dan Updike, who came out to discuss the work, provide options, and set up the contract, was very professional and knowledgeable. Likewise, the installer, Jeremy, was very prompt, professional and efficient - we were very pleased with his work.

Excellent quality of service, good craftsmanship. Contractors were professional, timely and demonstrated good attention to detail. They always used drop cloths and cleaned up area daily. Very happy with quality of service and craftsmanship. Would highly recommend .

Our toilet seat snapped off and needed to be replaced. We thought this might be something we could do ourselves (we do not consider ourselves to be 'handy'), but to be prepared, we researched a few contractors. We sent a message through Angie's List asking if they could install a toilet seat (soft close seat for a Toto Dual Flush toilet). We received a quick response from Dan Updike asking us to provide details in order for them to send us a price quote. We appreciate the promptness. However, after contacting Toto online, we received the information we needed to tackle the job ourselves.

The whole process was smooth. We contacted Dan in early March and he meet with us at our home. Dan gave us an written estimate of the work to be done. No other remodeler gave us such a detailed estimate. Dan told us to pick out our tile, flooring, fixtures, and vanities. He gave us a list of suppliers. We took our time to pick out the items we wanted. Dan then gave us a separate detail contracts for each bathroom of the work to be performed and the total cost for each bathroom. Jeremy was the installer for both bathrooms. Jeremy did one bathroom at a time so we were not without a bathroom at anytime. He showed up on time and worked around our schedule and still finished the both bathrooms in 8 days. Jeremy did an excellent job. We are very happy with the work. Sheri was very helpful in scheduling and answering questions.

They cleaned up and were in and out beautifully. They came right away. We’ve called them several times.

Dan Updike did a great job hearing our request, explaining our positions, helping us choose all the materials and then installed as promised. Everyone we encountered in the process was a delight to work with.

Fast, efficient process form end to end. Installation was surge. Fast, clean, efficient.

Wonderful. Technician was timely, courteous, kind & knowledgable. Amazingly, there was very little plaster dust to clean up at completion. No major remodeling had occurred since the house built in the early 1950's. The shower had not worked in over 15 year's. Technician, Jeremy was awesome! A job that we thought would take 3-5 days took a day and a half!

Was done very efficiently and with great skill. The installer cleaned up every day and was on time & timely.

I would consider the company inflexible to meet needs of customers. Unless your are retired or a stay at home individual they will only work 8-5 including initial appraisal. This means be prepared to take time off from work to wait for them to show up either for the initial visit or with regards to the crew. If you have been involved in any remodeling then it is common knowledge that flexibility is the name of the game for both contractor and customer. Based on my extensive history with remodeling I would not recommend.

Updike provided us with a competitive bid for a complete remodelling of two bathrooms as did another remodeling firm. We went Updike which was slightly lower but close to the other. Dan Updike did the bid and talked to us about options. He was professional and very open about the work entailed and what choices in cabinets, sinks, showers, etc that we could make. He and the office were helpful in guiding us to resources and options. Dan estimated about 2 weeks for a large master bathroom and 1 week for a smaller bath. Jeff who is one of Dan's employee's did the work on the small bathroom by himself. He did the second large master bath with some help. Jeff was very reliable, showing up when he said he would and completed the work on time. We were very comfortable with having him in the house for the 3 weeks he worked there. The craftsmanship was excellent. Both bathrooms are beautiful and have the features we had hoped for. I would definitely recommend working with Updike.

Very well. The owner was very helpful in selecting colors and quality of materials to be used.

Dan came over right away and measured the bathroom and emailed me an estimate. They were able to schedule the work over the week of Christmas which was very convenient since we were off work. The secretary is very good about emailing and calling with updates. The work was delayed 1 day because of a big snowstorm and they worked on a Saturday to make up the time. They sent a 2-person crew. They were in and out of the house a lot, but used drop cloths and didn't mess anything up. They made sure that the toilet and other materials left overnight in the garage were not in our way and took extra time to clean up and communicate the progress of the job at the end of the day. The work was supposed to take 2 days but it ended up taking 3 because they forgot to bring the baseboards. They were very flexible on scheduling the 3rd work day though and it worked out fine. The only negative issue was that they left some grout and trash in the lawn which I didn't notice until a few weeks later when the snow melted and had to clean up. The tile looks beautiful! I'm very happy I went with Updike and will probably use them again in the future.

The process was very efficient from start to finish. Installer did an excellent job in a very short time. We will definitely use them again. Highly recommend!

It was a great expeience from the time Dan Updike came to give an estmate to the day the remodel was completed. Jeremy, the installer, did great work. He took only three days to complete the project. This included some unforeseen repairs to several floor joists. Jeremy kept us informed on what was going on and cleaned up the work areas every day. I have used Updike in the past for bath remodels at the company where I am employed. He always does a great job. I would recomend his company to anyone needing a bath remodel.

This was a great experience! Well worth the wait to come on their work schedule. The guys were great, cleaned up every night, communicated what was going to happen each day. Thanksgiving came which delayed work for a couple of days.
