He called us the next day to see if the problem was solved because he wasn't able to solve it, but he knew what he thought the problem was. It wasn't the refrigerator at all. It really wasn't what we called him for. He told us what he thought was wrong that was affecting the refrigerator, so the quality was fine. He was a little late, but he called and said he was going to be. His punctuality was fine because he notified us.

 + -1 moreFixed the problem that was reported, gave us good advice on options to repair the additional problem vs. replace. Did not pressure to fix or replace from Turner. I would use them again, they were prompt, professional, and honest.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher was not working for a couple of reasons, but the problem that was reported to the serviceman was that the dishwasher was not draining. He ensured that the unit was draining before he left. When we found that the dishwasher was still not working, Turner returned to our house at no charge. When it was discovered that the cost to fix the remaining problem would be too much for a 10 yr old dishwasher, he recommended a new unit, and even suggested some options other than Turner in case I needed the unit ASAP, which we did. There was no charge for the follow up visit.

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with Turner Appliance. David was able to identify the problems with both our refrigerators and ordered parts and repaired them the next day.
Description of Work: We have two refrigerators that both needed service. Our outside fridge had ice built up in the back and the inside fridge the water and ice maker stopped working and the temperature displays were blank plus very warm air was blowing out the bottom. I called Turner Appliance in the morning and they were able to send out David in the afternoon the same day. He had to order parts for both refrigerator units and came the next day to install the parts.

 + -1 moreWe called the company around mid-morning (hoping to get them out at least by the following day), so were surprised when he came the afternoon of the same day! He (Brent) checked out 2 other items that could be causing the problem before he found the bad defrost thermostat timer. As our frig/freezer is over 10 years old, he didn't have the part with him so had to find the part which he was able to do and came back and replaced it the following day. We were very pleased with the service, expertise, courtesy, and felt the price wasn't out of line for the time he worked on it and considering he had to make two trips to our home, We would not hesitate to recommend this company to others :)
Description of Work: Refrig/Freezer ice maker's defrost timer had gone bad causing the icemaker to not produce enough ice (and puddles of water in the bin), he replaced the part the next day and it now works fine.

They made a big effort to get my dryer fixed as soon as they could. The repair guy who came was very nice and worked quickly. He gave me a 10% discount for being a memer of Angies List. I am very happy with Turner Appliance's service.

 + -1 moreEXCELLENT!! I can't compliment them enough. They came when they said they would. They found the problem quickly, they returned with the part in the time frame they said they would - plus brought an 'in case' part, so it would be fixed that day. The price was fair, they are very easy to work with, they try to fit into your schedule. They are wonderful. I will always give them the first call and give their name to anyone who asks.
Description of Work: My Dacor oven would not heat past 135* - a little short for cooking. I called around including the store I bought it from. 3 of the people I called suggested Turner Appliance, because of the brand. I called - they came out the next day. The technician said he was going to try the easy thing first - no surprise, in this house it's NEVER the easiest. He apologized for not having the part in stock but they would call within a few days to set up an appointment to install the new board. To his word, it was only a couple of days - they came out, had a second technician stop by to help pull the oven out of the wall, exchanged the part, put everything back, took the box and was done in 1/2hr. He also brought with him a second part that some times goes out at the same time, just in case. It wasn't needed, but how nice to thing past step one.

 + -1 moreOur 2-year old, and just out of warranty, dishwasher had stopped cleaning the top rack of dishes well. Through a little trial and error, I was able to see that the water pressure wasn't strong enough in the top spray arms. I suspected that something was clogged up, but having arrived at the boundaries of my mechanical knowledge, I decided to enlist a pro. Turner Appliance Repair was surprisingly able to send someone out the same day. The service technician confirmed my assessment and set to taking apart the pieces that might be clogged. There were little bits of detritus that had slipped through filters, but most importantly there were two dozen or more cherry pits lodged in the food chopping mechanism, blocking the pump assembly from taking water to the top of the dishwasher. Our mechanical dishwasher, it turned out, was sound. It was our human dishwashers that had a problem. Our dishwasher is as good as new, washing dishes with a vengeance now. And our cherry eaters have been warned that another service call will be theirs to pay.
Description of Work: Serviced our dishwasher so that it actually cleans the dishes on the top rack.

 + -1 moreMy refridgerator was working inconsistently over a period of a week. It would keep temperature for a few days and then struggle for a few days getting warmer than the settings. The indicator lights would dim and there was a clicking noise. We postponed shopping until we were sure the refridgerator was working correctly. Turner Appliance arrived and it was working okay for at least a day or so. He did notice the dimness of the temperature readouts and said it was a good chance it was the motherboard. I agreed to have it replaced and it was completed in about a half hour. The refridgerator seemed to be working fine with the board replacement. After a couple hours of working fine, we went shopping and filled up the fridge. It was then that the clicking noise returned and was more frequent and the refridgerator was steadily gaining temperature. I call the office of Turner Appliance, but it was too late and a visit was scheduled for the first thing the next morning. In the meantime, the fridge completely failed and we had to take immediately steps to save the food. I was not happy and told that to the repairman that arrived in the morning. He uncovered another problem part and replaced the part no charge. The cost of the part was about what I lost in the way of food so I considered it a fair deal.
Description of Work: The refridgerator motherboard and compressor controller were replaced.

 + -1 moreI called Turner this morning and they were able to dispatch a technician to service our LG front-load washer yet today. They offered two service windows which was very helpful. The tech arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the sensor and was done. All for $245. We were very impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism of the technician. Turner has serviced our appliances previously and we've been very pleased with their courtesy, timeliness and professionalism.

Gave pricing on service fee, $45, but was not willing to give estimate over the phone without knowing what the problem might be. Let me know about their 3-year warranty on parts and how they can match prices to competitors if I needed to purchase a new fridge. Even let me know I could apply the service fee to the cost of the new fridge.

 + -1 moreSee above for blow by blow. The overall experience was a very good one and I'm glad I found them on Angie's List. It was my first time for using Angie's List but will not be my last.
Description of Work: I call Turner Appliance Repair to come fix a frozen water line to the ice maker. I have a Kitchen Aid side-by-side frig/freezer with water and ice dispenser in the door. I had replaced the water filter a couple days ago and noticed yesterday that the ice maker was not making ice. I had had this happen a couple years ago and found out that I had not flushed out the water line when I replaced the filter and the water line to the ice maker had froze. The other day I made sure I flushed out the water line, emptying at least 8 cups of water, the line still froze. I would have fixed this myself, as I had seen how the other repair guy had done it a couple years ago, but I did not see how he removed the ice maker from the freezer. So this morning I started with Kitchen Aid online to set up an appt. to come out and fix, but they would not be able to come out until Thu and service call alone was $80, but made an appt anyway because I needed to get this fixed. I then called another repair service and found their service charge was $50 so made an appt., but my roommate asked if I had checked with Angie's List. I then became a member and found Turner Appliance Repair and gave them a call and they were able to come out today within a couple hours so I scheduled an appt with them and they came out within the hour and within about 15 min had the issue resolved and working again. The technician even cut the labor cost in half because it was a very simple fix - all he had to do was hold a glass filled with very hot water over the water tube going into the ice maker and thawed out the ice formed inside the tube. The technician even cut the charge of labor in half from $80 to $40. Clean, prompt and efficient!!! I will definitely call Turner Appliance Repair in the future.

 + -1 moreThe Turner repairman called at 3:15 and gave his eta as 10 - 15 minutes. He was prompt, knowledgeable and professional. He quoted a fair price and fixed our refrigerator quickly. We will definitely use this company for our large appliance repair needs in the future.
Description of Work: Our refrigerator quite cooling and was making a loud popping noise. We called Turner Appliance Repair in the morning and they promised to send a repairman out between 2:00 and 6:00 that same day.

 + -1 moreNothing was fixed and I was charged $40.00 for someone to tell me that what i already knew.
Description of Work: Technician arrived on time but did not have the proper equipment or knowledge to complete the job. He attempted to trouble shoot the issue with a multi-meter without any tips they had been cut off and was using bare wire to try and trouble shoot the issue. I had to show him how to remove the panels off of the fridge and then explain to him how to check the switches for continuity so that he did not try and replace them. He then said that the main board was out for the fridge with out ever checking on a componet level for the actual cause of the ice dispenser not working and issued me a quote for $450.00. If this is the quality of technicians that this company uses I would not suggest that anyone uses them as they will have better luck fixing it themselves.

 + -1 moreI called Turner Appliance Repair for service to replace the latch on my Maytag dishwasher. I had already purchased the replacement part from Maytag. I asked for an estimate and was given one. I asked if this was the total charge. I was told yes, and that the estimate would be written on the service ticket. Fortunately, they had an opening the same day I called. The technician arrived during the time frame I was given and he replaced the mechanism within a few minutes. When it came time to pay, I was told a different, higher amount than quoted. I questioned this and was told by the technician that the estimate didn't include the TRIP CHARGE. I protested mildly and in a nice way and he adjusted the bill to total somewhere between the estimate I was given and the total he was going to charge me. Contractors, when I call for an estimate, I want the real total.
Description of Work: Replaced the dishwasher door latch on Maytag appliance. I had already purchased the replacement part on-line from Maytag.

Because it was such a simple "fix" he did not even charge the full service call fee. I recommended them to a friend and she was equally pleased with this company.
Description of Work: My stackable dryer had been moved off center by a contractor. I felt that if he didn't even realize he had done it he was not capable of being certain that it was put back exactly as it should be and decided I should have a qualified repair person look at it.
