WOW---they are excellent. They were here within 3 hours of our call---that's fast! He basically found almost nothing wrong with the washer, but said if we had this problem again, he'd come back at no charge. We DID have the problem again--and he did come back AGAIN---within hours of our phone call, and at no charge. We are very impressed with their excellent service. Would DEFINITELY recommend them.

Our refrigerator/freezer seemed to be getting warmer, to the point of melted ice cream in the freezer and milk that I wish had been colder in my cereal. I called turner one evening and they returned my call the next morning and said they could have a service guy out between 1:30 and 3:30 that day. He arrived at about 2:30 and was friendly and professional. Just an initial guess he thought the motherboard might have gone bad and that would cost somewhere around $500. The refrigerator came with the house when we bought it 3 years ago. It's a smaller GE side by side, nothing super fancy. Once he tore it apart a little, he determined that it was just the thermocouples were bad ( he said GE knows that the thermocouples are faulty and just basically shrug it off), and because of those being broken it ate up the defrost heater. Also the condenser motor fan had been making a small squeaking sound as of lately so he went ahead and replaced that as well. About $280 later I have a working refrigerator, which in my opinion is much better than having to buy a new one. I took them down one notch on punctuality because he was at my house till 5. He told me he had another appointment from 2:30 to 4:30 down in Columbus (like 40 min. Away), so I know he was late to that one.

Everything went fine with them. They were prompt. They were there when they said they will be there. I do not have anything to compare their price to, but I think it is reasonable. I would recommend them to anybody.

We've used Turner's several times for refrigerator, ice maker, freezer, dryer and garbage disposal repairs. They have always been able to get out to the house quickly - sometime even same day and have always given me solid estimate on repairs. I would not hesitate to use them for any appliance repair.

Very well. They were able to send someone the next day afetr we called them. He was the same serviceman we had before and was very helpful.

My wife and I found a washer and dryer set at Lowes that we wanted. When I mentioned to a friend what we were doing, he said that I should call Kevin at Turner and see if he carried those models. I always prefer to shop locally when possible and was pleased to hear that Turner carried and stocked the exact models we were looking for. Not only did Kevin offer to match the price we saw at Lowes, we were able to get them delivered quicker than Lowes would have.

Just moved into a house and had all the appliances replaced. Ordered them from big name home improvement retailers . The delivery/installation company they use can only do the basic installation. (So if you have specific installation instructions they can not do that). The diswaser was installed uneven and looked horrible. I sent out a quote request on angies list and Turner Appliance responded that night and asked to see a picture of the problem so I texted him one. He (I think Kevin) responded with a possible solution for me to do on my own. But I did not have the right brackets. He then gave me a quote to install it correctly and had the company call me to set up an appointment the next day. The workers came out and examined what needed to be done. They actually had to run to the hardware store to get a few items for the installation. They came back in 15 minutes and solved the problem on how to secure the diswasher correctly and made it level and set back for a profile look like it is suppose to be. I think they went beyond what they should have done since this was probably something for a handyman. Great Job!

We visited Turner Appliance Repairs a few days later to look at their used washers, but finally decided to have our old washer repaired. They called us back and informed us that the repair would be $ 385 (not $ 325 as originally quoted by their technician) and that the motor would not be available until the end of May (3 weeks later !). I did some research on the internet and found an appliance service parts outlet that claimed to have this motor in stock for immediate delivery, so I returned to Turner Appliance Repairs and told them about this. Mr. Cantleberry, the owner, immediately began to make some phone calls to his contacts and confirmed that he could get the motor within a few days, but that the repair would indeed be $ 385. We looked again at his used washers, and I finally decided on a used Whirlpool machine (very similar to our Kenmore Series 90 washer) that looked to be in very good condition and that Mr. Cantleberry offered me for $ 200. It was delivered to us in Columbus, IN the next business day. The original service charge of $ 85 was credited against the delivery charge of $ 85. Bottom line : I am satisfied with the entire experience because the company offers the alternative of a used or new appliance if the repair is not worthwhile. Secondly, when I complained about the lead time for a new motor, the owner, Mr. Cantleberry, personally got involved to come up with a better delivery date. Mr. Cantleberry also recommended that I not buy one of his used washer models because of bad parts availability and reliability record of that particular model ! The only improvement I suggest is that the technician who quotes the repair cost should check with the company to make sure he has the correct price information for the parts.
Description of Work: We have a 15-year old Kenmore Series 90 washer that started to make a clicking sound during the agitation cycle. I knew this was abnormal and wondered whether there was a problem inside the gearcase. Since Turner Appliance Repair is by far the most highly rated service company I decided to give them a try. Their technician came and diagnosed the problem as a faulty centrifugal switch inside the motor. His estimate to repair the washer (new motor) was $ 325. He explained that the service charge of $ 85 would be credited if we chose to repair the washer, and it would also be credited toward one of their used washers if we chose to go that route.

My overall experience was good, but there was a miscommunication between the call center and one of their scheduling technicians that was a bit inconvenient. The technician I spoke to over the phone, after my initial inquiry, informed me that he would have a guy at my house within an hour and that was at 10:00am; the technician didn't arrive until 1pm. When I called around 12:30pm to find out what was going on the call center rep said that my appointment was between 11am-1pm. I explained that the technician she had transferred me to who diagnosed the problem over the phone told me someone would be at my house within the hour at 10:00am but it just become a back and forth at that point so I just kept the appointment. Clearly, there was a miscommunication between the call center rep, the technician who scheduled my job and the field technician. The field technician who performed the work did an excellent job. He was all business and went to work troubleshooting. He diagnosed the problem, went and got the part and finished the work. He got the dryer working again and all is well.

I used Angie's list and called Turner Appliance. I told the person who answered my call what the problem was and asked if she thought it was something that could be repaired. The fridge/freezer unit is 12 years old. She looked at their schedule and promised someone would call back within the hour and would come that day to take a look. The young man who came took great care not to damage our hardwood flooring by putting a hard plastic piece down before he pulled out the unit. He checked several things and took the back off. Found a fan was frozen up; got it started and then waited for a few minutes to make sure it continued to work. He assured me that the company guarantees their work for 30 days and I should call back if it heated up again. He also gave me some advice about the arrangement of the shelving in my fridge in order to insure proper cooling. The workman called ahead...he came at the time he designated. Good job...maybe I can keep my fridge for another 12 years!!!
Description of Work: Repair to the circulation fan in my fridge/freezer. The wall between the appliances was very hot and things were freezing in my fridge!

Bought it March 20th, 2013. It broke last Friday (May 3rd), washer motor went out. Should be under warranty. Turner won't fix it, Groves won't fix it, HH Gregg can't get around to it and they've subbed it out and they can't get to it until Thursday afternoon. So far it's been about a dozen phone calls to replace a confirmed bad washer motor. It'll be a week without a dishwasher.

The repair person was on time and diagnosed the problem pretty quickly and gave an estimate for a new control board. The part had to be ordered so that made a second visit necessary. The repair person did not seem 100% positive which control board was bad so they seemed to guess a bit. That made me a it nervous about my choice. I checked back with them in two weeks (since I had not heard from them and I had to pay for the part up front). They had received that part and we scheduled the second visit to install the part. Luckily, it was the correct part and all worked well.
Description of Work: They were not my first choice for repairing refrigerator drawer appliance but were one of the few that would work on the brand that we have. The refrigurator was locked into the cooling mode and was keeping items too cold and sometimes frozen.

I purchased a replacement part for my stove in 2011. That part failed in a very short time. When I called Turner back the serviceman said that it couldn't be the part they installed. I told him the error codes that had flashed on the stove, he still insisted it was not the part. I even called the manufacturer who verified what the code was indicating. After I paid first so they would order this other part, he found that in fact it was the first part they installed in 2011. I asked if he had some kind of schooling for working on the appliances. He said no that it was on the job learning. I told him that he had not leveled the stove the first time when he put it back into place. He said that he could not level it because of the floor. I knew that when he did not even know there were screw down feet for leveling that his training lacked. He pushed and shoved and said that he could not push it all the way back because of the vinyl tiles on the floor. I had someone else come to help level the stove. When my friend checked he found that this service man did not know that because stoves can tip over and cause injury, there is a safety mount that the stove must slide over. Because this serviceman did not know his business and just tried to shove the stove back into place he has damaged the back foot of the stove.It is severly bent. If we try to pull the stove forward to line it up with the safety clip then the foot will possibly break off. So, I am stuck with an unlevel stove/oven that is not installed according to the safety instructions. This business sends out repairmen who have had no proper training and cause more harm than good. They also do not give the so-called Angies discount they advertise. The first time the serviceman tried to charge me double and then refigured everything without the discount. The second call in 2012 I pointed out that he did not give me the discount. Since I had to pay for a service call and it was their inferior (possibly refurbished rather than new) part that failed, he said he would give me the discount for both times. But he still didn't do it. There was confusion like the first time because he was trying to charge me for the part that was not the problem and was not installed. I am starting to think he either is mathematically challenged or this is his tactic so that the customer doesn't realize they are getting overcharged. The company needs to train its employees properly. They should know what the codes on electrical stoves mean and what safety requirements there are for installing appliances. The company needs to somehow review what the serviceman is charging so that the company can make corrections when needed.

It was good that they were honest. They told us that it could not be fixed because of the problem that we had. They said that they could match the price of someone else’s and install it for us, but we did not have it done. We’re going to try and use them if we can get everything worked out. So they pretty much told us that we needed to replace the appliance because they cannot fix it. I believe we used Turner Appliance years ago to fix things and we were happy with their work so we decided to use them again this time.
Description of Work: We used Turner Appliance Repair for repairing an oven, which they could not do, but they were very honest about the problem.

Overall, they were punctual, called before arriving, dressed nicely, acted professionally, told me what they thought, but did not perform the service I requested from them.
Description of Work: 2 yr old Frigidaire refrigerator freezer not cooling. Obviously out of freon or low level. Dwight on the 28th and David on the 29th both said evaporator coil leaking. Neither checked for leaks. They both unscrewed back and looked at compressor, said it wasn't cooling (I knew that!) and gave me cost for freon or evaporator coil or, better yet, come to Turner showroom and get a new or rebuilt unit. I really got the idea they were both there to sell me on coming to their showroom rather than doing what I, the customer, requested. No, I will not talk to them again.

I am scratching my head on this one. [member name removed] said we did not do "what I the customer requested". We did everything to the "t" with him. We even went out the following day at no charge, just to make him happy with a different tech for a second opinion. Both tech's told him his evaporator had a leak in it causing freon to escape and would have to be changed to repair it. Unfortunately the fridge he has is notorius for developing freon leaks in the evaporator. He asked about charging it back up with new freon but we explained with a leak in it the freon would leak out again. Those were two options we gave him for his refrigerator. We also gave the option, as we do with all our customers, to apply his service charge to either a new refrigerator or reconditioned one. There was nothing else we could do. I'm having a hard time understanding this complaint. We went above and beyond, like we do for all our customers, offering him every available option possible. He stated we were just trying to get him to buy another one from us. We don't care if our customers fix or buy from us were just trying to give them different options. I will tell you how wrong he is though, our profit margin is much more when we do a repair rather than a sale. I am very thankful to Angies List for giving business owners a chance to respond. As we all know there is always two sides to every story! We would be more than happy to assist [member name removed] in any way we can, like I said we would even put his service call towards the repair or a replacement.

Came out and diagnosed the problem and provided repair costs for consideration against replacing the unit. I decided to complete the repair as the unit was otherwise functioning well and matched the existing décor of the kitchen and installation constraints. Parts were ordered and two days later the repair was completed. Everything works great. I?m very pleased with the service and would use Turner Appliance repair again.

Although Steve told us how to properly clear the remaining residue, he gave us the news that the bearings are close to being shot and suggested we use the machine until it quits. I appreciate his honesty and not trying to sell us on a pointless repair. I'll call Turner again, just not for this washer.

the thing I like about turner who I have used in the past on a couple of occasions is that they get to your house quickly and they diagnose and get your appliance working right away. their servicemen are clean, pleasant and neat. I have used other appliance repair groups but no one has done it better than Turner at such a reasonable price.
