Turner Appliance

It was the week prior to Thanksgiving that our freezer showed signs of being broken. I called up my usual suspect, but he was booked for a week solid. So I tried Turner, the reviews did not disappoint me. I called (noonishy?) and got an actual person (Sarah?) and she hooked me up with an afternoon (the next day) appointment. Brent called 15 min PRIOR to the appointment window & showed up when he said he would. In, out, had the part on the truck ... bing bang boom! Just the way I like it. It was the auto-defrost heater gizmo had died some time ago and the cooling thingumy stopped being efficient. I have a freezer/fridge that has been working for a week. Safe turkey leftovers -- YAY! I will recommend Turner Appliance to friends, neighbors, & family. I gave them a "B" in pricing because I simply do not know how much this should cost. They get an "A" in everything else because it got fixed in a 24 hr. turnaround and after a week everything is fine. JamesK144

After inspection, it was determined it was more expensive to repair than replace

Turner Appliance provided prompt, excellent service. Randy the repairman was incredibly nice, professional and knowledgeable. He even arrived early and completed the repair in no time at all. I will definitely use Turner Appliance again and I highly recommend them to anyone needing appliance repair services.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was good. We didn't spend more than the big deal amount. They did well. The price was okay.

My Dryer was not working, TURNER APPLIANCE REPAIR INC came on time, he found the problem and fix it. Now one month later the same problem is back. I am not very happy with this service. I do not feel they do quality job.

We were missing a small plastic bolt that was needed to hold the top spinning water arm to the top of the dishwasher. He came and I showed him what was wrong and the next day he came back with the part and installed it for us.

It was a pretty straight forward procedure once the front of the oven was removed. It was operational for dinner that evening. We appreciated the quick service and Matt was very professional.

They fixed out outdoor fridge/freezer.

We called Turner Appliance on Saturday for an appointment to repair our garage refrigerator that had stopped working. We were given a same-day appointment for between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. (no extra charge for Saturday service) and we were told that our technician would be Cody. Not five minutes after our appointment was set, we received a call from Cody, telling us that he was in our area and could be at our house in 15 minutes. We were ecstatic, to say the least! Cody was extremely friendly and professional. After looking at our refrigerator, he first thought the problem might be a simple fix but soon discovered that the compressor was shot and that the refrigerator was beyond repair. Even though the refrigerator could not be repaired, the cost of the service call can be applied to the purchase of a replacement unit. Our experience with Turner Appliance was so positive that we plan to purchase a replacement unit from Turner.

Replaced 2 switches on stove. Quick, timely.

My old over-the-range microwave had quit working. Turner verified my suspicion that it was not worth repairing. After shopping around, I decided on a new microwave which Turner had available at the same price I had seen at hhGregg. But hhGregg was going to charge $150 for delivery & installation. Turner's fee was $120, bur I had $100 credit remaining from the Big Deal, so paid only $20 plus cost of microwave. Turner delivered & installed a day later than originally agreed upon - a "scheduling error".

These guys came out to fix our ice maker. They did a great job! And we just used them to replace our garage fridge that quit working.

Josh the tech was very polite and informative. They had the part in stock and returned the next day to finish the repair. Will use them in the future for all our appliance repairs and recommend them to all our friends and family.

The Turner Appliance repair man, Randy, showed up 50 mintues late for our appointment. I explained that I had a tight schedule that morning and gave him my cell to call if there were any issues. He didn't call and showed up very late. NO excuse for that lack of professionalism.

Called for Service came the Next Day. Had to order parts and Return the Following day. He Was friendly and Quick on both Visits- Electronic issues no way to prevent or prepare. They don't Clean Vents but gave a referral.

We were going to have a family dinner at our house Sunday afternoon - 9 people would be there - 2 p.m. My husband informs me at about 7:45 a.m. that our refrigerator doesn't appear to be working. Not news I wanted to wake up to. As soon as I was dressed I inspected the situation with him. We did what we could to get it started (following the instruction booklet's Troubleshooting section), but it became obvious that we would need an expert. I then went to the yellow pages of the phone book and found a company that specifically mentioned "emergency service on Sunday". I called the number and left a message. Within 15-20 minutes, a man called me back, asked about our problem, told me the emergency rate (VERY reasonable, in my opinion), and said his service guy would be there between 10 and 12 noon. He arrived between 10:30 and 11:00 - very quickly ascertained the problem - gave us some options - then performed the option we chose. By noon the refrigerator was working once again and our family dinner was saved! I was a VERY HAPPY woman.

When the repairman told me that a major part needed to be replaced, I first thought that this was going to be really expensive and would probably require another trip. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that he had the part on the truck and the additional cost would only be $127.00 (total). It was a no-brainer. I waited a few weeks before sending in this review. So far, everything is working great.

We found our dishwasher had standing water in it and didn't complete its cycle. Repairperson was just now at home with my husband and has just left after finding the problem and fixing it. Two wires had come loose, but not detached, so my husband wasn't able to see this problem himself and fix it. The repairperson simply tightened the wires. He also replaced the kickplate we had left unattached since the last time they'd come to our home (that was our decision). I can't believe this repair cost $100. No new parts were needed except two screws to reattach the kickplate. Ridiculous fee even with our Angie's List discount. We've used Turner several times in the past. I will be looking for a new appliance repair company.

After spending $239.46 with Turner Appliances my problem was not resolved. Turner Appliance responded quickly to our service request and the technician (Dwight) arrived on time and diagnosed the problem quickly. Faulty heat element in the dryer), we approved the repair and he got to work. Everything seemed to go fine and he assured us the repair was complete. We paid the $239.46 by check and he left. When my wife began using the dryer she came to tell me it ?was loud and smelled like it was burning?. I inspected it to find the Dryer Vent Line was disconnected at the back of the dryer. It appeared to have been torn off during the repair and needed to be replaced. I called to report the problem and spoke to Peggy. She was very nice and checked to see when Dwight could come back. Unfortunately it wouldn?t be until later the next day. After being without the dryer for a few days and having a washer full of wet clothes we couldn?t wait. I went to Home Depot and purchased a Dryer Vent Kit for $20 and fixed the problem myself. This is not easy given the size of the HE Dryers and the fact that the Washer also had to be moved. After a trip to get the kit and at least an hour of wrestling appliances it was fixed. I called Peggy back to let her know I have resolved it, again she was very nice and apologized for the problem. She offer to have Mike the Manager call me as soon as he could. He was on vacation and returning calls in the evenings. I told her to please not have him call me while he was on vacation and wait until he gets back. I did receive a call from Mike about 15 days later. He stated he just wanted to check in to make sure I knew they hadn?t ?blown me off?. I described the problem to him and the excuses and argumentative tone began. He couldn?t imagine how it was the technicians fault because the heat element is accessed from the front; granted. Sighting his?30 years in the field? he speculated my wife had knocked it loose when we started using it again; impossible. The vent hose was attached with HVAC foil tape, it had been ripped somehow. Mike was working the entire time (5 Minutes according to my cell) to end this call with no real resolution. When I asked he for some consideration for the new kit and my time and trouble, he offered to split the cost of the $20 kit with by having a $10 check sent to me. I found that insulting and told him to save the paperwork. They would have been better served ?blowing me off? rather than having someone with Mike?s idea of customer service call me. After spending $239.46 with Turner Appliances my problem was not resolved. Luckily I was able to finish the job for them. If you are not prepared to do the same I would caution you about using their service. UPDATE: I did receive a check for $40.00 on 10-24-13 I would have rather had the job competed properly while the Tech was here. Anyone reading the service providers response can see the attitude I was greeted with when I called.

Diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes - but had to come back a different day with the correct parts. Explained everything - the price was reasonable, and the dryer is still working. Very pleased with the service.

There were some communication issues with the office staff, but once the tech arrived, he got right to work and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. Not only that, instead of just fixing this and calling it a day, he told us that our Big Deal entitled us to another $100 in credit since our repair was a small one. This company is as reputable as they come.

Randy was very helpful explaining exactly what was wrong, providing all the options and the different prices. I never felt like they were trying to talk me into the expensive choice. He was very knowledgable, very professional and fixed it in a short amount of time.

Diagnosed problem. Discovered failing/clogged filter. Came up with a work around solution. Tested. Discovered frozen water tubing from not being used. Cleaned it out, all the way to removing tubing and microwaving to totally clear. Re-installed everything, tested everything, all good. Came up with a solution to bypass filter until I could locate one. Quick solution that I can revert back to correct way oncehard to find filter is procured.

I bought a Big Deal with this company for $160 worth of repairs for only $79, what a great deal! From start to finish they were professional and friendly. They answered the phone promptly and scheduled the visit for the next day. The tech was very thorough and did a good job fixing the washing machine, she's cleaning like a champ now. The tech also diagnosed an issue with my fridge but i declined to fix it because the fridge is on its way out anyways. They even gave me a credit for the remaining balance i hadn't used during this repair, talk about going above and beyond they weren't required to do that but they did anyways. Well done!

The original diagnostic appointment was scheduled for a very convenient Saturday noon. They came out, checked things over, and determined that I would need a new ice maker and master control board for my Samsung refrigerator, quoting the price for both. They returned the next Friday with the parts, but, after installing the ice maker, tested everything and determined that the control board did not, in fact need replacing. (The controls that weren't working came back online with the new ice maker.)
