Brent with Turner Appliance meticulously investigated source of gas leak and located an improperly installed gas line with a connection that was cross threaded. He took the time to disassemble and properly reassemble the fittings. He carefully checked for leaks using both soapy water and a gas detector to verify the work was done properly. In addition, it was Christmas Eve and Brent provided exceptional service and ensured the job was done properly before leaving. I would highly recommend Turner, especially after dealing with another local appliance repair outlet.

This started when I called a few different places. BY FAR the best from start to finish. When calling in, the receptionist was very polite, professional and quick to help which I can not say for every company I called. BRENT the technician should get a raise asap! He was not only the most professional and nice service technician (in any field) that I have ever met, but he also called ahead for the call and was EARLY. I had a fantastic experience. Originally Chris was to install a motor on my washing machine for the agreed price of $140.00. The motor didn't fix the problem so he only charged me $60.00. Ordered a new main board which was thought to be another problem but it did not fix the machine either. Coty came to my home and worked very hard to figure out what was wrong. Finally after having to have installed a new motor, main board, pressure switch, and lid switch, my machine is now working. Not very happy with GE as my machine is only 22 months old (although they did give me big discounts on the motor and main board) but am thankful Turner Appliance kept my situation from being a lot worse. Thanks especially to Coty for taking ownership of the problem and making sure it came to a acceptable end. Total price charged after several trips out wash $145.00. I believe Turner Appliance is a company with integrity that tries to treat it's customers right.

On Friday afternoon, I started my dryer and was making a horrific noise. My son had just gotten home from college with 2 enormous laundry bags. I spent the weekend doing laundry at my neighbor's house. I called Turner Appliance at 7:00am on Monday to leave a message. I also called 4 others. I received a phone call before 8:00. I was told that a technician would come to my house between 11:00-1:00. He arrived at 11:30. A part needed to be ordered but, it was in stock, so I waited for the office to call me to set up the second appointment. At first, I was told that the earliest would be Wed but, she must have heard the desperation in my voice because she squeezed me in between two other appointments. Dave was just as punctual as Chris! I now have a working dryer!! I did eventually get called back from one of the other places that I called. I would have had to wait 3 days for the initial appointment. The other 2 did not even call back. If I could have given Turner Appliance an A+, I would have.

Prompt response to my call. First estimate our technician felt the entire cooktop would need to be replaced. He order the part and returned later that week to install; upon further examinination, it was only the fuse that was faulty which he replaced. He could have easily replaced the insert and charged us MUCH more, but only replaced what was needed. Thank you for your honesty and friendly service!

When my husband called to schedule the initial appointment, he specifically asked if they were LG certified, and they assured him, twice, that they were. On the first visit, the man said he couldn't find anything wrong, but did clean out the condenser, saying it was only "a little dirty", but he couldn't find anything else wrong. Told us to wait 24 hours, then call again if it still wasn't working. That visit was $95. We called again when nothing had changed, and he came back. Took another look and said he thought there was a leak in the evaporator, which was part of the sealed system. He then asked to see my owner's manual, then informed me that he couldn't make the repair, but that we'd have to contact LG to find a certified repair person. Hmmmm. . . that's why I thought we called them in the first place -- because they assured us they were LG certified. We then contacted a true LG certified repair person who came out the same day we called. He had to make a visit to confirm the diagnosis, and now they have to order the part, which will take 3 - 4 business days. We get that -- but now we're a week out because we trusted Turner's first. If they are not LG certified and cannot repair LG appliances, they shouldn't say they are, and they should refund our $95. I know they've gotten good reviews from other readers, but we won't use them again. Didn't do what they said they could do.
Description of Work: Our four year old LG French Door refrigerator freezer wasn't cooling. Refrigerator part was fine; freezer and ice maker were not working. Turner Appliance told us they were LG certified for repairs, but once they diagnosed the problem, they said they were unable to help us.

Hello Angie, reading this complaint made me very upset that one of my girls would tell someone that we were a certified company for the manufacturer LG. Not only are we not certified for LG we are not certified for any manufacturer. We stopped doing warranty work for all companies a long time ago, to much of a hassle, and getting paid is like pulling teeth and I'm not a very good dentist. I started getting into the girls about someone telling a customer we were certified and all said they knew better, this would come back and bite me. I had one of the girls pull up the conversation's on our recorder. He called in at 7:39am on 10/27/14 and low and behold I looked like an idiot for jumping the gun and boy did they let me have it, and yes I deserved it. Never once did her husband ask if we were LG certified, not ONCE! The only thing he said was that his refrigerator was not cooling and he needed service. In her complaint she went on and on about how we assured them we were certified and he "specifically" asked and that's why she called us and she wouldn't have used us if we weren't and we shouldn't tell people we are certified when were not. Well we didn't and if he would have asked he would have been told No. We don't ever have to lie to get business, we have plenty! The reason our tech asked to see her warranty papers was to see if she was still under warranty for that specific repair, and she was. We can easily do that repair and we do a lot of them when it is out of warranty, but when the repair is under a manufacturer's warranty we are honest and steer the customer in the right direction. Hmmmmm, now that's the way to run a company. I am able to send the recording's by email so she can hear that nothing was asked about LG certification if she would like. I will have to deny her request for a refund of $95 seeing we did everything on our end as we should have. In fact I think I should get $95 for all the heat I took for wrongly accusing the girls. The employee, Jeff, arrived on time. He was very professional and thorough. He diagnosed the problem and arrived at a solution which involved different steps in the process of repair....there were a few possible culprits to the problem. He will get all the parts to begin to repair the problem and return to begin the process of elmination as to what is causing the problem. If the initial repair does not fix the problem, he will remove and go to the next part which could be causing the problem(dishwasher drains immediately in the cycle).

This is an update to my previous review. The system would not let me delete the first one. I originally had a bad experience with dispatch for a return visit. I posted a negative review and Rick (see response) jumped on it when he returned from a business trip and made things right. Every company deserves a second chance and every person makes mistakes. What is important is that you make things right. Turner did just that. I am deleting my original comments. With Rick's assistance, my Fridge was serviced on time for a reasonable fee. It is one of those weird issues with icing in the drain so time will tell if that is the final fix. I will however use Turner again. The tech was very good, personable and professional.

Hello, I pulled up the recording from Saturday when he first called in and he did speak with someone in the shop. He did ask about defrosting it before we got there and he was told not to. We get hundreds of calls everyday and people always ask if they should unplug their refrigerator or freezer, they are all given the same answer...NO. The reason for this is if you have a defrost problem with ice or frost, as he said he did, then you take the symptoms away and leave it very hard to diagnose. Listening to the recording it was clear the reason he wanted to defrost it was so we didn't have to come back if it did need defrosted and charge him another service call. We assured him if we had to come back there would not be another service call, there never is. We did go out on Monday and after diagnosing the problem as a blocked drain tube told him it would have to be defrosted to enable us to get past the ice and repair it properly. I cannot believe he was told that we couldn't come back until Thursday, there had to be some miscommunication. We are just about always able to come out the following day to finish the job. Your not going to make much money by putting jobs off. If for some reason we couldn't make it the following day there would be absolutely no problem in coming by on Wednesday. I was not able to come up with the recording regarding the Thursday appointment and the problem he said he had with one of the girls not seeming to care about his repair. This means he must have called from a different number we didn't have. I always like to get down to the root of things so I can right any wrong doings so I wanted to talk to him. I wanted to find out what secondary number he called from and listen to the recording. I left several messages on his phone and never have gotten a return call. He closed in saying we didn't care about our customer's. This aside from everything else upsets me. We bend over backwards for our customer's and without customer's we have no business. If we didn't care about our customer's that is exactly where we would be.....no business! He was not charged a penny and I hope he will call me maybe after reading this because I really would like to listen to the other recording. Thanks, Rick.

We called turner for another appliance repair. We used them to fix our refrigerator this time. After getting the part in they fixed it within 30 mins and it's working great. Called on monday 10/13 when the dryer would not start. Said they would be here Tuesday between noon and 3. Called us Tuesday around 10 am and asked if he could come in the next 15 minutes as he was in the area. Arrived about 10 minutes later and found the timer switch was broken. He did not have a timer switch in his truck and called his office. They would order the part and notify us when it was in and he would come back and exchange. Turner called about an hour after the tech left and said the part would be in overnight and that the tech would come Tuesday between 12 and 2 to fix the dryer. Danny (the tech) called about 12:30 Wednesday and said he was on his way. He arrived shortly thereafter and fixed the dryer. He was very professional, answered all my questions, and didn't hesitate to give me the discount. I would definitely use Turner Appliance repair in the future.

Steve had to be one the nicest technicians we've had and very good at explaining everything and making sure there wasn't anything else that had happened that he'd missed. He also worked with the dryer to make sure it was working okay. After he left, we had some more problems at the end of the entire drying cycle. After we tested it and called him, we talked with Steve about the problem and he figured out what the major problem was. He told us how long it would take to fix and how much it was going to cost us. The charge for fixing was almost nothing, versus the charge for the actual piece needed. Even though we still needed to do more to the dryer, Turner appliance has been a great company to work with and very helpful at explaining why and how to do it. I wish more companies work like they did.
Description of Work: Found the reason why the dryer's "he" code kept coming up during the cycle. Showed me the part and the melted area. Moved the part to make sure the dryer wasn't rubbing the part and causing a melt and shock to the metal and plastic surrounding the area. Also found another area that needed to be moved so areas weren't touching each other during drying time. Even though they are based out of Indianapolis, they have a coupon that brings them down for only $10 more than Bloomington appliance repairers.

Called Turner the morning after refrigerator stopped cooling. They gave me a time frame when someone would be out that same day. Tech called when he was on his way and arrived shortly after that. Failing part was diagnosed within 10 minutes. Replacement part was on techs truck. Price quoted, repair made, and refrigerator was working 30 minuted later. Kitchen area was as clean after service as before.

My washer stopped rinsing/spinning on Tuesday. Matt came out yesterday (Wednesday) and diagnosed the problem. He was quick, friendly and very knowledgeable. He even came back out today (Thursday) to repair it! Again he was quick and friendly. My washing machine is working again thanks to Matt. After providing an initial assessment - possible coil leak / temp dial not working, the rep left and failed to follow up on next steps (its a rental unit and so I wasn't present for the initial visit). After contacting the home office to figure out next steps later that day, I was promised that the rep would call back. He did not. Calling on the second day, I was again promised that he call back. He did not. Finally, I called back several hours later and asked who else I could speak with... only then did they promptly patch me through to the rep's cell. At which point the rep was more interested in trying to sell a new or refurbished unit than reviewing the options for repair... after getting him to agree perhaps we should at least check for coil leaks, I was again promised that someone from the main office would call me back to schedule the appointment. After the same back and forth that I experienced the first time, the rep came out to the unit on Friday and then said everything seemed to be working and promptly left - not bothering to call me directly as I had asked. But - lo and behold, the issue wasn't fixed. Given the terrible service, we had to then promptly go through the whole cycle again with another company. Suffice to say Turner will never be asked back at any of my properties. I've dealt with all sorts of issues and all sorts of vendors but Turner was a complete fail on service level, technical expertise and just general compassion... not having a refrigerator is a pretty big issue and I would have expected they would work to solve the problem speedily.

This is one of those call's that was bad from the start. We will take full blame on this and to be honest I am embarrassed how this job was handled. The left hand didn't know what the right was doing. He called in and made an appointment but never gave us his number just gave us the tenant's number.We looked back at our recordings with an old phone number of his but it did not come up. We called him and left a message to find out which number he called us from so I could listen to the recording's. After leaving two messages he called back and gave us the number he made the call's from. I listened to all the recording's and yes the girl's did a terrible job, they never asked what number to call back and he never offered one so our tech only had the tenant's number. I spoke with him and apologized and told him I was embarrassed about the whole call and will refund the complete bill. Our tech felt the repair's needed were going to be more than the refrigerator was worth. The option of replacing it with a reconditioned or new was offered. My life would be better if things like this wouldn't happen but unfortunately they do, but thankfully very very few. Rick.
