+ 0 moreWe had Affordable Sprinklers, LLC install lawn sprinkler system and landscape lighting. They didn't do a good job on the lights, wasn't very professional. I had a leak the following year and had to call the water company and was told it was the sprinkler system. They are not good at doing the maintenance on the system. I called for them to adjust the sprinkler heads which they wasn't very responsive. For them to blow the system out for the winter was costly. They didn't even call to turn system on but did it anyways without testing system.

They initially said it would take one day, but it ended up taking several weeks for the system to be installed. They were also late by several hours each time they were scheduled to show up. They did do a very nice job though and like I said the price was good. We are quite satisfied with the system they installed and the quality of the work.

+ -1 moreHe’s a very nice guy & he did quote well. He did everything well. Even when I did something wrong, like put a stake through a line, he'd come out & fix the problem & negotiate a fair price, but he seemed to be quite busy & maybe a little understaffed.

+ -1 moreI have used them for years, and they usually do a good job. However, this year was different. I called them to repair a leak in the system which they did, but the owner somehow got a piece of gravel lodged in the system. What's even more frustrating is that the owner knew what the problem was, but he blamed it on the sprinkler system's controller and replaced it unnecessarily for a $300.00 fee. After nearly a month, the company sent a different technician who removed the gravel without any issues. Furthermore, my yard dried up since it had gone so long without water.
Description of Work: I had them repair a leak in my sprinkler system.

Description of Work: I googled affordable sprinklers. I called the number and he was very excited to come out and give me a new quote. His name is Chris. He was late for the appt. He gave me a quote and then I made him an offer that was the same as the competitor and he accepted. (Nearly Half of the original bid) I have had him do multiple items since then like landscape lighting, down spout pop ups etc.The down spots didn't work correctly he finally came out and replaced those. The lighting kept blowing bulbs. He said several times he would be out and finally showed up 6 weeks later.My sprinkler system I called him 7 weeks ago as I have two or three heads that are leaking and he said to flag them and he would get someone out right away. I am still waiting.Bottom line the system is an OK system, but the service is terrible. He overcharged me for the lights. My wife paid it thinking the price was set when he told me it was going to be $400 less.

After expressing interest with Affordable Sprinklers through the Angie List web site, I received a call from Penny (Office Manager) about 4 days later on a Friday afternoon. She quickly sent over the estimate for my property and after hearing that they could begin that coming Wednesday (5 days later) I was sold!! Most companies I had spoken to were estimating August as the earliest time to begin and had a higher price. The next day a city worker was out marking lines for gas/phone/electricity. Monday, Chris (owner) came to do a walk through to tell me expectations and where the sprinkler heads would be placed. Wednesday, around noon the crew showed up and by 8:30 pm everything was up and working and all holes filled back up, dirt swept away, and grass placed back in original spot (in Carmel the city requires you to dig a hole next to meter pit and tap water line instead of easily tapping from house..hence the hole, dirt, and grass comment). Finally the supervisor did a quick tutorial on the control panel, showed me where each head was spraying to see if I liked how it looked, and then they were on their way home. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality and level of service I received from everyone involved from Affordable Sprinklers. From the owner all the way to the workers (giving 100% in 90+ degree weather).

+ -1 moreSee above discription... Update: Chris and his crew can out yesterday (6/20/12) and fininally completed the wiring problem (a month later) The sprinklers in all zones now work. I was only able to get him to come back and finish the work by telling him I would be getting someone else to finish his unfinished job and charge the cost back against his final bill.
Description of Work: I first contacted this company (Chris) on May 21st for repair of a busted irrigation line and damaged wiring so my replacement concrete patio could be poured over it by Memorial Day ( a few days later). Chris came out on May 23rd and repaired the busted water line and the wiring, but didn't have time to make the wiring connections to the water box/control panel, as it was became too dark to finish. Still, Chris assured me that the concrete could be poured and he'd just come back to complete the wiring. So 2 days later I had the concrete poured over the repaired water line and ajacent wiring. Chis kept promising to come back to complete the wiring, always giving excuses like "things have just been crazy lately, but I'll be there tomorrow." This went on for 2-3 weeks. He'd always say he'd be back to finish on a certaind date/time, which meant someone was waiting around all day for him to show up, but he never did. I finally got him to come back late one evening, about 7:30 p.m. He managed to get only half of my sprinkler zones working. He apparently didn't do the wiring correctly before the concrete was poured over it, which meant there was no way to fix the mistake, given the problem was now under 4 inches of concrete. So he promised to come back the next day to run all new wiring from around the other side of the house, at no additional charge. That was 10-12 days ago, and he's yet to return. In the meantime, my grass in the watering zones that have yet to be fixed (half my yard) is almost completely dead (as brown as it can get). Still, he has yet to return. But he's full of promises to return "as soon as things arn't so crazy." I've been extremely patient with Chris (Affordable Sprinklers, LLC), but he's LIED to me repeatedly. He's quick to accept jobs that he's unable or unwilling (too busy) to finish. If the work can't be finished in one trip/visit, you could be in for a roller-coaster ride. He's cost me considerable time, inconvenience, and half a lawn. Now I have to try and locate someone that can come and finish/correct the job Chris started. Who knows how much more it's going to cost me over what started out to be a simple, straightforward job. There is no way in H*** I would ever recommend this company to anyone. BEWARE and be Warned of this company!!

+ -1 moreI hired them to turn the water system on in April and asked to have 3 new sprinkler heads installed on my system. First, when they were installing the heads they cut the water line and the wiring line disabling the entire system. They came back 2 days later and repaired the cut lines and wires....or so I thought. After they showed me the new heads working I p[aid them and they left. I found out later they had cut the MAIN WATER SUPPLY in another place and the entire system was shut down. It took more than 3 weeks to get them to come back and repair the damage tehy did. Worst of all, they missed 3 scheduled appointments without calling me or contacting me. Very unresponsive and unreliable. I am not sure they know what they are doing. But today they came and they fixed it. All appears to be working, but I would strongly recommend avoiding this company.
Description of Work: Chris turned on the irrigation system for the season and all was working. I asked him to install three new sprinkler heads. He came back a day later his crew cut into the main line and the wiring. They came back the next day or two and repaired where they cut the line. They installed the new 3 heads. They appeared to be working so I paid for the work. Later I found the system is leaking and one zone does not work. He has been scheduled to come and repair 3 times and has not showed up or called to cancel. He is supposed to be here today and he is now 2 hours late. I don't know if he is going to show up today. He is very unreliable. He showed up while I was typing this. They found and fixed the leak where they had installed my new sprinkler heads they had CUT the MAIN WATER SUPPLY LINE. So it took over a month to get 3 sprinkler heads installed and cost me $485 and he missed 3 scheduled visits. While they were here fixing their mistake they were in an extreme hurry. Very rushed at all times. They took a long time to correct problems they caused. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Now, he has kept me waiting for him to come repair my system and hasn't even given me a call to let me know when to expect him. I'm very disappointed in his lack of follow up and now even if he were to come out to fix it I wouldn't recommend using him again. He came back out and fixed the issue.
Description of Work: He came out recently based off a complaint I had with his system that has been leaking and I had to shut off the water to it.
