The Deck Store

We initially came to The Deck Store because we were looking at building a free-standing deck behind our house. We were mainly looking for materials. They had a lot of material options available (and on display) and Tom seemed very knowledgeable. Based on our rough dimensions, he put together quotes based on a variety of composite decking materials. We discussed different options and chose one that seemed to fit our needs. We decided to have him go ahead and put together a full set of plans for us for $200. Once we had the plans, we reviewed them with him and he gave us a number of tips on how to proceed. We also opted to have his crew dig the 24 post holes that we were going to need (cost around $400). At this point, they delivered the initial load of building materials. Once we were ready, they delivered the decking. They also delivered an additional load of materials needed toward the end of the build. Every delivery was made by courteous and professional drivers, who helped us to place the materials where they were needed. Throughout the process, Tom helped with advice and suggestions as to how we could succeed at this DIY project. We would highly recommend consulting The Deck Store before beginning any major deck project.

They did a pretty good job. There are still a couple of minor issues that need to be resolved that they haven't taken care yet, but they are coming. They came on time and cleaned up well. It was satisfactory.

It was very personable service. The owner was right there with easy access to get to questions. He was very punctual. We questioned some of the materials that we picked prior to installation and so he did a test to see how it would weather for us. We didn't question the quality but just weather it would fade.

This project was more involved than we anticipated. As the work progressed, we began to see some glitches in the construction. This company answered all of our concerns. When the job was completed, we were not satisfied with some of the work. This is the point where we found out just how good the company is. A company can always promise a customer a good job. However, when problems occur, many companies just ignore the customer. Not Decks of Distinction. Tom, the owner, took his time to personally discuss our concerns. Within two days, the problems were all resolved. We now have an outstanding deck that we are proud to show. How refreshing to work with a company that has high standards and follows through with the job until those standards are met. We are very pleased with Decks of Distinction.

Tom Booker was very responsive. He had the most detailed and professional quote that I received and took the time to draw out the details that I expected and unfortunately overlooked with the company I eventually picked to do the work. While his price was higher, he gave a very professional estimate in a very timely fashion.

We had an idea of what we wanted in the design of our deck. Tom Booker took our ideas and added some unique touches of his own. He was very responsive to any concerns we had and the two men who actually built the deck were very thorough and detail-oriented. When something didn't meet our expectations it was redone promptly to our satisfaction. They were very customer-oriented and always responded quickly when we contacted them. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who might need such services. They aren't satisfied until you're completely satisfied. We love the finished product very much!

TOM WAS EXTREMELY NICE AND HAD SO MANY EXAMPLES OF HIS WORK IN A FULL COLOR ALBUM. I HAD HEARD ABOUT HIS WONDERFUL REPUTATION THROUGH A LANDSCAPE COMPANY THAT I HAD WORKED WITH IN THE PAST. THE REASONS WHY WE DIDN'T CHOOSE HIM WAS BECAUSE HE WAS SCHEDULING 9 WEEKS OUT (WE WANTED IT DONE SOONER), AND A FAMILY FRIEND OFFERED TO DO THE WORK FOR MUCH LESS.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY. IT IS EASY TO SEE WHY YOU RATE THEM SO HIGH. WE DIDN'T CHOOSE THEM BECAUSE WE LIKED ANOTHER DESIGN BETTER. ALL THREE THAT WE CONTACTED GAVE US QUOTES AND WERE ALL PRETTY CLOSE IN PRICE AND TIME TO BUILD. WE WOULD RECOMMEND DECKS OF DISTINCTION TO ANYONE (AND WILL).

THIS COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL IN EVERYTHING THEY DID. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WANTING A DECK BUILT.

TOM BOOKER WAS VERY HELPFUL IN THE DESIGN PROCESS. HE IS VERY EASY TO WORK WITH AND COORDINATED THE PROJECT WITH OUR BUILDER WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY. THE QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP IS EXCEPTIONAL AND THE COST WAS COMPETITIVE FOR SIMILAR PROJECTS BY OTHER BUILDERS. WE WOULD USE HIM AGAIN FOR ANY DECK PROJECTS AND HAVE RECOMMENDED DECKS OF DISTINCTION TO OUR FRIENDS.

DURING THE PLANING STAGES HE WORKED WORKED WITHIN OUR BUDGET TO CREATE A VERY NICE OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE. WHEN WE HAD A LAST MINUTE CHANGE, TOM WAS AGREEABLE AND VERY FLEXIBLE. DID A GREAT JOB IN A TIMELY FASHION. HE HAS A WONDERFUL PORTFOLIO OF HIS UNIQUE DESIGN WORK DISPLAYING EVERY ELEVATION OF HOMES. SINCE THE INSTALLATION HE HAS MAINTAINED IT FOR US. HE REFERRED US TO SOMEONE FOR STAINING THE DECK. THE TWO TONE STAINING THEY DID WAS WONDERFUL.

I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND THE JOB THAT THE GUYS DID TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY. TOM BOOKER'S WIFE HANDLES THE SCHEDULE AND THEY ALWAYS MADE US AWARE OF ANY CHANGES IN SCHEDULE. THEY SENT US A CONFIRMATION LETTER AS TO WHEN THE WORK WOULD BE ACCOMPLISHED AND WHAT THEY WILL BE DOING ALONG IN AN ESTIMATE. THE BILL COMES A FEW DAY LATER.

TOM PROVIDED THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE BID PACKAGE, DETAILED WITH REFERENCES; COST WAS CONSISTENT WITH SEVERAL OTHER QUOTES AND MID RANGE OF SEVERAL QUOTES OBTAINED; PROVIDED SEVERAL OPTIONS WITHIN BASIC QUOTE; WORKED WITH US ON SEVERAL CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL PROPOSAL; ANGIE AND TOM KEPT US INFORMED AS TO CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE; NOTIFIED US OF ANY CHANGES UP FRONT; MIGUEL DID A EXCELLENT JOB ON THE PROJECT AND WORK AREA WAS CLEANED UP AFTER THE PROJECT; TOM FOLLOWED UP AFTER THE PROJECT WAS DONE, AND SEVERAL BOARDS NOT UP TO HIS STANDARDS, WERE QUICKLY REPLACED.

TOM WAS PROMPT WHEN HE CAME OUT TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE ON A NEW DECK. HIS QUOTE WAS COMPARABLE WITH ANOTHER COMPANY WE FINALLY WENT WITH. THE ONLY REASON WE CHOSE NOT TO USE HIS COMPANY WAS BECAUSE THEIR WORK LOAD WAS BACKED-UP BY AT LEAST 9 WEEKS AND WE DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT THAT LONG. HOWEVER, WE WERE PLEASED WITH THE COMPANY'S QUICK RESPONSE TO OUR CALLS AND THE QUICK TURN AROUND ON THE ESTIMATE WE ASKED FOR.

THE TWO WORKMEN WERE PUNCTUAL, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL IN EVERY ASPECT. WORK WAS COMPLETED AS QUOTED AND WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS.

TOM WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HAS HIS TEAM BEGIN WORK WHEN HE SAID THEY WOULD. HE DID NOT DO THE WORK HIMSELF, BUT CHECKED IN DAILY.

PROVIDE PROMISES THAT THEY CAN''T KEEP. NEED TO BE MORE RESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMER NEEDS.

THEY GET AN A+! THEY WERE VERY PUNCTUAL AND DID THE WORK IN A TIMELY MANNER, BUT WERE PERFECTIONISTS AS WELL. TOM, THE OWNER, CAME OUT EVERY DAY TO CHECK ON THE PROGRESS. THE WORKERS WERE VERY DILIGENT, NON-SMOKERS AND DIDN`T LEAVE ANY MESS BEHIND.

I`VE CALLED TO GET AN ESTIMATE AND THEY WON`T CALL ME BACK.

THEY GAVE US THE LOWEST BID. TWO MEN IN HIS CREW QUIT DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE JOB AND HE FINISHED IT ALL BY HIMSELF IN THE HOT SUN IN THE TIME ORIGINALLY ESTIMATED. TOM WAS GREAT AND DID A WONDERFUL JOB. HE WAS EASY TO TALK TO AND VERY PROFESSIONAL--THUMBS UP!

HE CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER AND DID A WONDERFUL JOB AT GETTING IT IN BEFORE CHRISTMAS. HE CALLS AND GIVES AN ESTIMATE WITH DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS. HE WAS VERY CO-OPERATIVE AND BUILT THE DECKS TO MY EXACT SPECIFICATIONS. HE EVEN CAME BACK TO CHECK UP ON IT AND DO FINAL TOUCHES. HE IS A VERY PLEASANT GENTLEMAN TO HAVE AROUND AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!
