The project went well and they were willing to take back a few framing joist which were not needed.

Tom at the Deck Store helped us finalize our selection of materials to replace the surface, handrails and ballisters from our existing treated wood deck. We had very particular design concepts in mind and he and Angie were very helpful to work with us in materials choices. They offered many samples that we could take home and spent time in-store exploring options.We asked them to install the materials. Their crew was very detail-oriented, including scroll-cutting a contour board about 21 feet long so that the first deck board would sit properly against the side of the stone house (we didn't request or expect this). We were re-using the base structure, but the original installation wasn't standard, so they had to make several adjustments during the job to address issues this created. Tom authorized purchase of additional custom parts at his cost to address these issues and personally visited the job twice to discuss the issues and reach a solution that would address all of our concerns.Due to the issues and the recent hot weather, the job took longer than expected, but the result and craftsmanship exceeded our expectations.

Tom understands his business. He is a good businessman. He is very accommodating. He is very thorough and nice. He was great. He will be working for me in August.

Very pleased with the quality of work and the follow-up from this company. Even a few years after the installation they came out and made repairs at no cost. Would use them again.

Tom delivered everything he said he would and did it well. I liked being able to see decking samples in his retail store to get a better idea of what the new deck would look like. Tom worked with an outside roofing company to replace the rubber roof for our back deck as well as the porch. This was nice since I only had to work with Tom and not 2 separate vendors. A couple of times there were things that didn't look right as they were doing their work and Tom ensured that everything was done to my satisfaction and it was. The job took a bit longer than I had originally anticipated, and it caused some delays for siding that was being put up at the same time, but in the end everything was done well. Our new deck is beautiful and now because the roof is put up properly, there should be no more leaks into the house. I'd use them again and would certainly recommend them.

Workers were punctual and efficient. Did a good job of clean up. A year later when a few of the connectors came loose they returned and reconnected free of charge.

When we started looking at materials to build a deck The Deck Store which is the retail side of Decks of Distinction was the best place for us to see and evaluate most of the types of decking materials available all in at one time and place. They had a display of the Ipe decking and after discussing its merits and taking a sample home to see it against our home we were sold. We had Tom quote the deck along with another company and the quotes were similar but the other bidder had never built an Ipe deck and the wood peg construction used by Decks of Distinction was the look we prefered. Due to the weather there were many delays in starting our deck but since it was the front entry to our home we wanted it to be started and finished in a timely manner. It was started on Friday June 6 and they returned Monday June 8 and it was completed at the end of the day June 9th. Tom Booker was available during the process to answer any of our questions and concerns. We are very pleased with the results.

There was a little bit of a delay in getting the work started, however they let me know ahead of the day they were supposed to show up. I greatly appreciated that they let me know this far ahead of time. If it was any better, it would be beyond perfect. The workmanship was great; they cleaned up well when they were finished and they were very polite. Their price was very competitive. I?m very with the work they did.

We meet with Tom Booker, owner, at the showroom. We loved how he had examples of many decking materials and lots of options for composite decking. He has been in the business long enough that he knew the ins and outs of most them. He also had samples for us to take home. We emailed Tom measurements of our existing deck and pictures of the existing deck. He was able to come up with drawings and estimates without coming out to the house. We pulled all landscaping prior to the work being done. It took a full week for 2 workers to rework our old deck. They were hard working and very courteous. They used the existing support structure. It's a brand new deck as far as we can see.

The work was done OK. We had a slight communication and scheduling problem with them about when they were going to show up and such. Otherwise, they did show up on time and got the job done. My main problem I had with the company was they were using used beams on our deck, which they didn't discuss or factor into the price for us. Also, the two workers that worked on our deck, one did not speak very good English and the other one did not speak any English, so I feel that was the main reason why we had the issues we had with this company.

We chose this company because of all the good comments they had on Angie's List. They lived up to their reputation. They did a quality job and was considerate of our yard and plantings. They had excellent follow up when we had a small problem.

They did an awesome job with installation and moving stuff around. They showed us our options and helped us decide which would be best. They were very personable. They knew about their line of work, and could educate us about it in order to help us make the best decision for us.

They are very good. I have recommended them to other folks I know. They were on time and got the work done quickly. They gave me an estimate, which I was very pleased with. Tom, the owner, is a good guy to work with.
