Description of Work: Super Handyman Services LLC was not selected to perform work. I am looking for someone to replace a sliding glass door with either a salvaged door that is wider or a new french door. On 11/1 I called and left a message asking for a consultation. Within 2 hours I received a phone call from a contractor and one from his office. I scheduled an appointment for 11/3. There must have been confusion at the office because Jay (contractor) arrived an hour earlier than scheduled. I didn't mention this at the time because it didn't seem worth mentioning as I work from home and happened to have the time available. Jay was very courteous and discussed what he saw as areas of concerned with using a salvaged door. He verbally stated his price to install a new door. I asked if I could have written estimates to install the salvaged and new door. He stated he could provide both and would provide them within a week. I waited and received no communication. I called and left a message on 11/15 asking if estimates would be provided. To date, I have received no communication from Super Handyman Services. If they can not provide me with what is requested during an consultation what will service be like if hired? *Update 12/5/11* Received a phone call from Mr. Foltz. He apologized from the above mentioned incident and offered a discount if we did choose them for future work. This apology is greatly appreciated. This is the only company from which we've received communication regarding further possible work.

Description of Work: Labor charges to replace a sliding patio door. Jay Green, and his assistant, removed the old door, installed a new door (which I had purchased seperately), and finished out the trim work. The spent about half a day and did an excellent job. I plan to use them again soon to replace an exterior door & storm door.

+ -1 moreElden gave my husband a quote to install a new screen and storm door including the door frame over the phone honoring the Angie's List discount. He came out on a Saturday afternoon as scheduled to do the work. My husband had forgotten his wallet (we haven't completely moved in yet so are traveling to the house) and so Elden took a credit card over the phone from me and was very nice about the whole thing. He was there before my husband arrived and was there for literally HOURS. He did not go above his estimate at all, in spite of all the hours it ended up taking him. He maintained a good attitude about the whole thing. He didn't have his laptop with him to give us the invoice (I had given him my credit card # and he had advised he'll charge off the invoice) but he had faxed it to us the SAME night. What service! We will need to replace toilets etc. and so we will DEFINITELY use him in the future. I HIGHLY recommend him.
Description of Work: Installation of a front/entry door and screen door including new frame, locks/hardware, and removal of existing doors. We supplied doors and hardware we purchased at Home Depot. He was there for several hours (at least 5 hours) since the deadbolt didn't fit right (hole allotted in door wasn't large enough) and also there was never a deadbolt so he had to set up the deadbolt lock as well brand new. There were only 3 out 4 hinge screws for each hinge for some reason that came with the Home Depot doors so he used screws that came with the lock that would be used for another type of door to make sure we had a 4th one. He used his own initially until he discovered we had spare screws with the lock he could use. He demonstrated the door and explained everything about it to us when he was done. He had us test it as well.

Unlike other estimates (which were just going to replace ALL the tiles in the entire basement and attic rooms), Elden Foltz of Super Handyman Service bid to just replace damaged tiles and found tile that matched the remaining, undamaged tiles. He clearly worked hard to find tile that would work (there were 3 different patterns), did a perfect job on the unusual cuts required to accommodate the can lighting and odd roof lines, and saved me a LOT of money in the process! Also, this job was completed while I was on vacation and all rooms were spotless and completely repaired when I returned. I have used Super Handyman Service for several types of repairs, and continue to be impressed with the professional standards, honesty, work ethic, and versatility of this company. So far, Elden Foltz has been able to do anything I ask!
Description of Work: Repairs to ceiling tile damages by roof leaks and leaks from old washing machine. This included exact cuts to accommodate multiple can lighting units and to fit around unusual wall cuts.

+ -1 moreThis was such a small job that many would not take it on, but Elden Foltz of Super Handyman Service treated my home with great care and certainly went the extra mile to make the woodwork repair match with the rest of the rooms. I had numerous trim pieces that needed repair and many that had to be completely replaced due to scratches from my dogs. Each room had slightly different color tints, but Elden was very careful to make everything blend in perfectly. Also, a new door had to be installed and stained, and it also looks perfect. Kudos to Super Handyman Service for providing superior service at a very reasonable price!
Description of Work: Repaired and replaced many pieces of woodwork throughout the house which were very scratched due to dog damage. Super Handyman Service did a great job salvaging pieces that could be reused and stain matching new pieces to the existing color. This job also included replacing a door that was previously damaged and stain matching the new door to the surrounding woodwork.

Description of Work: Super Handyman came and assembled a wooden four drawer file cabinet that came in a box in many pieces and included hundreds of hardware pieces as well. I called Thursday, he came out Friday morning and was done in about an hour. He gave me an estimate on the phone and charged a little less and did an excellent job. I would certainly call them again.

+ -1 moreExcellent. I had a terrible, disgusting problem with a toilet being completely clogged and spewing sewage into my master bathtub whenever I tried to drain the bathtub. Believe me, it didn't make much sense to me, but Elden Foltz of Super Handyman Service diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a few hours. He also made time in a very busy week to come out quickly and make sure it got fixed. He even followed up a few days later to make sure everything was OK and that it was taken care of to my satisfaction. This is a truly service-oriented company!

+ -1 moreAmazingly easy. Elden Foltz of Super Handyman Service designed and constructed a custom-built dog kennel for my two very big, very spoiled dogs. I needed a place to keep them safely in the garage during the times I was not at home, and they now have a luxurious, spacious, safe kennel that they love going into. Elden even used scrap carpeting for one section to make sure they are comfortable, and he moved the dog beds and crates into the kennel as well to make sure my pups were secure and happy. Since I was fearful of them getting out and harming themselves, the kennel has a roof and an easy-to-lock gate. It can also be deconstructed if necessary to move it. Love it when someone spoils my dogs besides me!

There were surprises in the basement wall that he repaired, such as mold remediation and he took care of that at no extra cost.
Description of Work: He came out to fix a garbage disposal and fix a leak under the kitchen sink. He also fixed two leaky water spigots on the exterior of the house. He also repaired a water damaged wall in our basement.

+ -1 moreElden returned my call quickly and was prompt & professional when giving the estimate. He also was punctual on the day the work was done. Elden is a hard worker and takes pride in his work. This was especially shown when he had to spend extra time removing the original faucet in our guest bath because rust had apparently made it more difficult to remove. He had to try several options before he was successful, but he did not give up! Elden also took the cabinet door home to work on the wood there, restained it, and then returned it in a timely manner looking good as new. As he worked, Elden covered his work areas with cloths and cleaned up each area when he finished. We are extremely happy with Elden and his work, and we plan to hire him again in the future.
Description of Work: Elden performed several handyman repairs for us. He replaced our leaky kitchen sink faucet and our original guest bathroom faucet. He repaired a loose office door handle and also repaired & stained a cabinet door that was off its hinge. In our family room, he stained the window seals to match the existing stain. He removed the old weather stripping and replaced with new weather stripping on our front door. In the kitchen, he painted the trim on a French door, and also removed & installed a new base under our kitchen cabinets. Additionally, he fixed a light fixture in the master bath.

Elden Foltz of Superior Handyman gave a very detailed estimate, provided assistance on options for the tile, and was prompt, courteous, professional, polite, and kind to my dogs! He worked very hard each day, explaining to me what he was doing and why and laid out the entire project on a time line I could understand and count on. Since I was in process on repairs to sell the home, it was very hectic around here, with work going on inside and out and two big dogs to deal with as well. Elden just found a way to deal with all the confusion and complete the job, cleaning up each day, and making sure I still had access to the kitchen. He even became friends with my dogs! The tile is perfect and it has changed the entire room. Although this is a small job to many, it was important to me that Elden handled this with the utmost respect and professionalism. Thank you Superior Handyman!
Description of Work: Superior Handyman was hired to install tile in my kitchen and sun room area to prepare my home for sale. They cleared the room of furniture, removed the existing carpet and baseboards, installed backer board, laid the tile, and then replaced all the furniture and fixtures. And all of this with a smile! The tile looks excellent, is very level and secure, and the whole room looks bigger and cleaner after completion of the project.
