Stavros Lawn Service

We have hired Steve Stavros and his crew to prepare our lawn and landscape for the last 3 summers. They never disappoint! His team works like a well oiled machine with everyone of his men working extremely hard the entire time. Everyone has a job and they rarely rest. They are very thorough and care for every inch of my property. I am always amazed at how quickly and efficiently that they work trimming and edging my landscape beautifully! Having them again next year is answered with a resounding YES!! This company always gets our summer off on the right foot!!

The owner of Stavros Lawn Service came out personally to my house to talk to me and to see what all needed to be done. They did an excellent job.

The calls went great, but I'm still looking for a good mulching/edging service.

He also does fertilization and put down weed killer at other times. It was fine. The staff is fine. They are very prompt.

They are nice and helpful. They do good work and clean up the mess. I have used them for a couple of years and I found them through Angie's list. The staff is great.The staff that comes out depends on what they are doing.

I am going to put my house on the market, and Stavros was able to get my yard done on short notice despite their busy schedule. Their work was very high quality, the clean up was great and the yard looks terrific.

Steve recommended starting from scratch on the backyard. He regraded and added a layer of topsoil to the whole area before seeding. In addition, he used straw mesh to prevent erosion said it would degrade within a few months. By summer 2014, we had very nice grass growth in the back. Steve even reseeded for free to fill in some areas. We were very impressed with his work. Our issues with this company came later in the summer. Some of his workers came to apply a weed treatment on a day that was very cloudy - I was home during all of this. There was thunder and his men were pointing to the clouds in the sky and looking at their phones - I'm assuming to look at the radar. They applied the treatment anyway. Within 5 minutes of them leaving, very heavy rain started. I called Stavros to tell them that I was concerned that the application was rinsed away, and they said to keep an eye on the weeds over the next few weeks. i did and noted that there was no change in the weed control. We specifically had a patch in the front yard that needed attention. Steve came out himself to reapply the weed treatment. However, he only spot treated a few areas in the backyard. He did not touch the front. I know this because I was home the whole time and work out of office at the front of our house. He never sprayed the front yard. He left, and the weeds in the front remained unchanged. I called again to complain, and Steve told me he sprayed the whole yard. My first clue at the dishonesty of Steve. He totally lied to me. I was staring at the front yard the whole time he was there and in addition, the weeds never went away all summer! The weeds in the back, however, clearly withered and were soon gone. Next, I called Steve to ask about the straw mesh mat he had placed the previous fall. The mesh was getting pretty torn up during mowings and my toddler was tripping on it when he played in the yard. Clearly the mesh did not biodegrade as Steve stated it would. You know why? The mesh was NYLON...which takes 30 some years to degrade. Steve said he would take care of it (made no mention of charging me), and he promptly had his guys come out to pull the mat up. Wonderful. Next billing cycle, however, I was slapped with a $300 charge for the labor in removing it!! I would have never had him use the straw mat if I knew it wouldn't biodegrade. I would have used regular straw like everyone else and saved a ton of money. And for $300, I would have pulled it up myself. So, back to the weed treatment. I decided I would not pay for the weed treatment until I knew the front had been properly treated. In response, the mowing crew did not show up the mow one week. Really? We don't own a mower...which is why we use a lawn company. Completely unprofessional. Steve said we were behind on payments, which he said were sent bimonthly. We only received statements monthly. Lie #2 from Steve. I can count the statements. We were current on our payments with the exception of the weed treatment. Regardless, we had already paid him thousands for previous work, we live in a very nice neighborhood in Carmel...of course we are going to make payments. I called Steve to see if our lawn would be mowed, and he was incredibly rude and unprofessional to me. I was shocked. So I was left scrambling on Friday afternoon trying to find a crew to mow because we were having a cookout that weekend. Thankfully Carmel Turf was able to promptly mow at 6PM on a Friday night! We now use for Carmel Turf for all of lawn needs, and we've had no issues. Our lawn looks great. Bottom line, Stavros is expensive, and I think they generally do a great job. But if I'm going to pay high prices, and I am going to expect good work and honesty. So think twice before using this company. You can do better and pay less.

We just have been with them for years. The owner is excellent. They have very good customer service and very personable. They have pretty reasonable prices as well.

Steve and his crew removed old brick patio and installed a new paver patio which needed to match as closely as possible with the brick existing on the screened porch adjacent. The job was difficult in that they had to make sure the patio was angled away from the house and the porch for water drainage and also tie the new pavers into the same pattern as the old brick which were different sizes. They did a great job with the installation and everyone was very professional.

This is the second time we have used Stavros and have nothing but praise regarding their services. They provide a professional service. We plan on using them in the spring to put in a new lawn and give the house more curb appeal!!

Stavros did an excellent job. They arrived as promised with 7 employees & all the necessary equipment. They filled a dump truck with a front loader and trucked the leaves away. Each time we have used their services we've been very pleased with the result. So I would recommend them to any Angie's List member looking for cost effective lawn or garden work.

We've been using them for a couple of years now. They're dependable, they do good work, and they're always professional and knowledgeable.

I have tried twice before to have landscapers rework/reseed my extremely shady backyard so that grass will actually grow there. Spent lots of money on these failed attempts. Stavros was the first company to understand exactly what was needed, recommend a course of action and execute it perfectly. Two and a half weeks later, my lawn already looks better than it ever has. These are very hardworking, professional people who do exactly what they say they will, and even go above and beyond what is expected. I will never use another landscaper!

I was so happy with work, the scheduling and the communication. They were fantastic from the start and followed up to make sure the seed was taking and that we were happy. Can't say enough good things!

The crew showed up on time, ready to roll. As in the past they were extremely courteous and efficient. The stayed on task and did exactly what we agreed on. As in the past they were meticulous in their clean up and in ensuring we were satisfied with their work. This was not the first time we have used Stavros, it will not be the last!

Brought very large group of workers and did all the work in a few hours and were punctual and courtios. They left the lawn spotless and all did followup.

They arrived at the scheduled time and did a great job. The crew was efficient and professional, completed the job quickly (in a couple of hours) and cleaned up afterward. We would use this company again and would highly recommend them.

Arrived on time. Trimmed all of the bushes around our house and carted away all the debris, edged the bed to create a trench to retain mulch, spread mulch. Staff was very pleasant and professional. Was very pleased with the appearance of the yard when they were finished. Will use their services in the future.

AWESOME! This company is great. Very easy to work with. Their work was so nice. My neighbors have said my yard makes theirs look bad. I have used this company before at both of my parents house. I would highly recommend this company. I will use them again!

The service went very well. I did have to call them to confirm the appointment. The crew was very efficient and hardworking. Also very honest and friendly. I would recommend them.

They are very good. They returned my calls, and tried to work me in as soon as possible. He has really tried to work with me within my time frame.

As usually they did a goo job. Cleaned up the old mulch, edged, and provided new mulch. Over 11 cubic yards.

This is an absolutely terrific company! From the very first call, their attention to detail and dedication to customer service was evident. The first person I talked with really took the time to get the details of what I needed done and what my ideal time frame for the work would be. Steve came out and gave me an estimate just a few days after my call and provided a detailed written estimate of the work I was requesting, along with estimates on other services they could provide. The prices for everything were very reasonable, and I'll likely have them do some other projects in the years to come! I was truly impressed with the care that was taken in making sure that a sump pump drainage pipe was not damaged during the process of grinding up the tree roots in the vegetable beds. Steve took a photo of the area, and then Karli sent me a copy of the photo to have me mark the location of the pipe. The week the work was to be done was very wet and rainy; I expected things would be delayed, but to my surprise, a crew arrived at 7PM during a relatively dry window and completed the work on schedule! The crew that came out to do the work was professional and efficient. The results were great! My vegetable beds were ready to go and my tomatoes are now settling in nicely for the summer. I am also extremely appreciative that the company was willing to cut my lawn for the three weeks I was on vacation without having a contract for the full season. They worked me into the schedule for those weeks and Karli called to confirm the dates prior to my vacation. I came home to a beautifully groomed lawn instead of the overgrown mess that would have greeted me (not to mention angry neighbors) if I had let it go for three weeks! It is just so refreshing to work with a company where everyone is so invested in quality work and customer service! I will definitely be using them again!
