Stavros tends to be booked near year round. If you would like a job done, it's always best to contact them well ahead of time. But once you are on the schedule, they are reliable. They usually call the day before to make arrangements, such as making sure your back yard gate is unlocked. Their price is fair, based on other companies I've used. They are very efficient. Even when charging by the hour, they complete the job in a reasonable time frame, and don't charge you while they take breaks or eat lunch. All of their staff are professional and courteous.

Although it ended up being a couple weeks later than promised the work was excellent. The rain had made it delayed getting fill and a dry yard. A large crew made short work of the project. The grass look beautiful now. Wish I had had the entire front yard redone.

Steve seemed very professional and informative. Seems to really knows his stuff.

I've been using them for 8 years. The are prompt, reliable, and very competitive in their price. They even do other jobs for me. They are also very responsive on the phone if I have any issues.

My experience overall went terrifically. They were responsive when I contacted them. They were very punctual and arrived on our scheduled time. The staff worked diligently for a solid six hours. They did an outstanding trimming job on my plants. The staff was very friendly, enthusiastic and cordial. They made sure we were happy with the job and asked if any adjustments needed made before they parted ways. I would highly recommend Starvos to others in the future.

We were told someone would come out Monday or Tuesday to look at property for an estimate. We had not seen or heard from anyone as of Wednesday morning, so my husband called back. He was never given an explanation, but about half an hour later, someone called back with an estimate. He told them he would like to proceed, and was told they would call and let us know when they would be out. Then, a few hours later, the crew manager called back to let us know they couldn't do the work, as they didn't have any other jobs near us. It seems that upon the initial call, someone could MapQuest and know whether or not this was in their area. We live in Marion County near Southport (and they go to Johnson County which makes it even more confusing).

Edging was a big mess before the work was done - grass had invaded and numerous weeds had taken over. Stavros did a great job and the landscaping has never looked any better. We had some delays in getting the project started because of weather but once the weather cleared, they executed exactly as we had discussed. I'm VERY PLEASED.

When winter went away, I had numerous bare patches and lots of weeds. Three weeks ago, I contacted Steve and he came out, gave me some great advice about spraying for weeds and gave me some commercial weed and feed in bags. Taking his advice, the weeds are gone and the lawn is coming in nicely.Today, 3 May, two of his workers came out before 9am and aerated my whole lawn, over seeded my whole lawn and put soil and seed on the bare spots. This was way over and above what was needed. It was very much appreciated as he takes great pride not only in his reputation, but I know that he cares about my property. If you want quality work, look no further.

Not exactly sure how to "rate" them but did want to put this information out there. Was looking for weekly lawn mowing to be done and had some estimates and responses. had made this company my first choice due to their apparent ratings all beings A's seemed impressive. They quoted my $35 a week which is slightly higher than other bids I had one company bid 30 and a person not with a company bid 25 but again becasue of their seemingly good reputation I agreed on the 35/week. First issue was that I emailed them three times three seperate days agreeing and wanting to get lawn mowed. No response- I then called and kinda played voicemail tag and apparently they are having email/computer issues- seems strange it wouldnt be fixed for so long but whatever I was annoyed but still wanting to go with them. They then tell me the bid is 40 not 35 so Im thinking what the heck how did we go up? Went back to my emails to make sure I wasnt crazy and it turns out they had sent me two emails within an hour of each other nad one said 35 and one said 40. I had only opened the one that said 35 but what the heck is that about. Frustrating on two levels for one total lack of trust or communication there two send two different one. Issue beyond that is that 40 for my yard is a joke- even people who do my yard say its more like a 20-25 dollar job because there is so little yard and grass but they have to charge 30 to come out. Anyway not impressed. Im sure based on their ratings on here they must be good but there are definately some communication/trust/organiztion/responsiveness issues going on there. Frankly wanted to give them an F rating but am feeling generous.

I have used them before. They are on time and do what they say. They are basically pretty competitive with the price. They just do their job and don't bother anyone. They do a good job and just leave. I didn't have too much interaction with the workers. The work is good and I am satisfied with them. The price is competitive. They will be coming out this week.

Sorry this isn't interesting or romantic. Pretty simple, overall. I've used Stavros before. They've done a good job in the past. This particular time, the yard and drive were torn up during the installation of new sewer lines. Stavros had done landscaping in the yard in the early fall. After some other things were done, it was time to have Stavros back to spread gravel in the drive. The gravel portion had been quoted with the earlier work, so I was aware of the price. When it was time for the gravel, I called to have it scheduled. They arrived and did the work as promised. Everything worked out fine. No issues or problems. Every time I've worked with them, they've done a professional job. They'll be back in the spring to make repairs to the newly seeded lawn from someone that drove on the new grass earlier in the winter. Stavros has already quoted the work. I'm just waiting for the weather to improve.

They did excellent work. I recommend them without reservation.. Their leaf removal services were on the agreed upon date, competitively priced, & high quality. plan o use them again for leaf removal & I would hire them to mow if I didn't like to do it myself.

Steve is always prompt and immediately responded if I had questions or concerns; when i sought a competitive quote, Steve matched the quote in order to keep my business. Steve is his own best salesperson and always made certain we were happy with his teams work.

Steve set high expectations for his team’s work and then he exceeded them. It is very rare that we don’t have to have a contractor come back out to the house to address some issue with the job. However, Steve’s crew did such a great job that we found nothing they needed to correct. To ensure they identified all the spots of dead grass in the yard, they even had the crew use the leaf blowers to remove all the fallen leaves (an unexpected bonus). Steve’s quote was detailed in terms of both methods and materials that would be used. He delivered according to the quote. We would definitely use his services again.

Stavros was very helpful and patient since we also had contracted with a curbing contractor to install edging around our shrubs and flower beds. We were also working with an irrigation company to install a sprinkler system. We wanted all of this completed before Stavros started the landscaping repair. With the rainy Fall we still do not have the irrigation finished but we went ahead and had Stavros do the landscaping before it was too late in the season for the new grass to grow. I am looking forward to next Spring to see the results of the turf repair. I enjoyed working with Steve. He was most understanding and helpful.

From calling them to the finished job, it was smooth. We even changed it slightly and he rolled with the flow.

IMPRESSIVE! Steve and his crew of 6 or 7 (I couldn't get an accurate count because they never stopped moving) arrived about 7:45 AM and hit the ground running. The entire operation reminded me of military maneuvers. They were finished and pulling out at 2 PM. Old splash blocks and downspout elbows were removed and trenching around utilities was dug carefully with spades. A gas-powered trencher dug the two main trenches on each side of the house while the trench for the extension of the deck drain was dug manually. Pipes were installed and trenches re-filled with tamping at several intervals. A dump truck load of topsoil was dumped on the street and transferred to wheelbarrows by a Bobcat with a front-end loader. Topsoil was delivered to the lawn by wheelbarrow and graded perfectly. Grass seed and starter fertilizer was applied and straw mats stapled in place. Cleanup was impeccable. This is a first-rate contractor you should always consider for drainage issues, lawn seeding and grading. From the first visit to scope out the project to the final watering and maintenance instructions and a couple of follow-up questions from me, Steve's communications were professional, thorough and clear. Proof of insurance arrived from the agent the same day as the bid ... I only had to ask once. Before and after pictures may tell the story best and they are attached.

Arrived when expected back filled yard graded and seeded . worked very promptly and hard Had a beatiful yard in two weeks would not hesitate to use again or reccomend to anyone

I am amazed at how consistently pleased I have been with all Stavros personnel--Steve, anyone answering the phone, and everyone who has been on the premises through the years. I am extremely particular about my landscape, and in the last few decades I tried just about everybody out there prior to using this company. Stavros Lawn Service personnel are unfailingly knowledgeable, dependable, and pleasant, and I give them my highest recommendation. Kudos to this group of hard-working professionals.

They were very personable. They contacted me right away after I contacted them. They were very easy to get a hold of. They did a very fast job and so I appreciated that.

Stavros and his crew are THE best landscapers around - this is the third time they have been to our house in two years to landscape/clean up/trim and he also does my weekly mowing. Long story short - hire him once and you won't want to call anyone else ever again. He has all the equipment, the manpower, and great taste on top of it all!

They are fantastic. He is very well organized. I am just so very impressed with their service. They are very protective of your property. I have been using them for many years. They are very ethical. The work they do is of high quality. They are very professional. They all work together as a team. They leave the premises neat, clean and everything and it's like they haven't been there. I would continue to use them.
