STARKS PLUMBING SERVICE INC.

After having a stressful experience with another plumbing company, I looked around on Angie's List and called a few checking prices. I found Starks and they had a lot of good reviews. I talked with Steve, telling him of my "sad plumbing story" (poor guy). He was very friendly, easy to talk with and gave me an idea of what the cost might be. I was happy with that and after talking with my husband, I left Steve a vmail (it was after 5PM) with my information and asked to schedule an appointment. Steve called me back first thing the next morning and we schedule an appointment for the following day. Steve called 30 mins before arriving. He was prompt, professional and very pleasant. He gathered all his tools and made his way to replace 2 bathroom lavatory faucets which I had already purchased. My dog and I sat and watched Steve do the work and I talked with him as well. I was still complaining about my bad experience from Monday and asked a few questions about his business which he seemed happy to discuss. In no time, the first faucet was installed and he moved on the the next one. I decided to give him some peace and quiet while he worked. Again, it took no time at all and the job was complete. Everything was installed and worked fine. It was a pleasure meeting Steve and to learn a little bit about his and his brothers business. I know who I will be calling if/when other plumbing issues arise. Steve left me a couple of his cards.....1 of them made it to the refrigerator and that is like the Wall of Fame in my household. Mr. Starks arrived when expected and installed a new water heater without difficulty. The service was excellent. He was polite, prompt, thorough, and made sure the area was cleaned up before leaving.

The garbage disposer wouldn't drain and filled one side of the sink with yukky water and a lot of stringy pieces from bean pods. I worked for about half an hour picking out the pieces from the disposer. The water still didn't drain. I knew I didn't have the tools or the skills to take it all apart, so I went to Angie's List to begin trying to find a plumber somewhere nearby that might be able to come this afternoon. There were a few businesses that we had worked with before. I phoned one of them but they couldn't come out until NEXT Wednesday. That wasn't an option. Checking the list for location, I picked Starks to try because they were not too far away. When I called I got their answering machine. The voice of Steve on the machine said we could reach his brother at another number. When I dialed that number Bob answered. I explained the problem and he talked me through a couple of attempts to clear the drain with water pressure. When that didn't work, he said he was on the way. Fifteen minutes later he was here. He took apart the drain pipe and showed us the yuck stuck in that pipe. Then he cleaned it out, put it all back together. It worked perfectly. Between the time I spoke with Bob, and when he arrived here, brother Steve phoned. He had seen my number on his phone and called to check if I needed help. I told him I had spoken to Bob, and Bob was on the way. This experience renews my faith in people. I don't think I've ever had any service people respond so quickly, work with such efficiency, and be as pleasant as Bob was in dealing with such a mess. When I asked what I owed, he told me $50. I said I had a coupon, and the final charge was $40.

The valve on the refrigerator water line would not completely close. We needed to be able to disconnect the line from the refrigerator so that we could move the refrigerator for a floor repair. The flooring company had called with an earlier than expected installation so we needed to get the water line shut off immediately. I called Starks and they were at our house about an hour later and quickly replaced the shutoff valve. While they were here, I also asked them to see if they could repair a kitchen faucet (occasionally dripped). He had the parts in his van and quickly repaired it as well. I was very pleased with their service.

Ok.They showed up as scheduled. I used Stark Plumbing twice, September & October 2012. Their price is fair, clean,and friendly. Brothers own this company and I have hired both men for plumbing work. I will use them again when needed.

I had called Steve Starks initially for an estimate to repair shut-off valves and spickets, and for a new spicket. He was kind on the phone. Then, Steve called before he arrived and came on the appointed day. His original estimate was $635.00, but he worked so efficiently that he saved me money. Steve was able to use new outside spicket parts in order to repair two outside spickets that weren't working. I was extremely amazed how well-prepared he came for the job and I had never seen a plumber work so quickly. My son shadowed Steve for the three hours while he worked and I can say that Steve loves children and their inquisitive minds. Steve answered all of our questions with enthusiasm for the trade and I was able to answer his questions, too, like where's the main shut-off for the house and where's shut-off water from the street. He successfully repaired nine shut-off valves that weren't working, repaired outside water spickets, and installed one new outside water spicket. He put new hoses behind the toilets from the tank to the new shut-off valves. He did all this work in three hours. He knew his job and he knew how to do it right. He was very efficient and the job was worth every penny. I would definitly recommend Steve Starks of Stark's Plumbing.

Steve Starks was here less than 15 minutes! When he left my tub drain was OPEN. Such a friendly, professional, high energy type of person - very helpful and polite. I would call him for another plumbing problem in a heart beat! When he realized he was already in our area on another job he popped over, fixed my problem, and was gone before I could worry about how my day was going to be compromised! Thank You Steve!

Great! Was there when he said he would be and job was done well.

Showed up on time. Did an excellent job fixing a faulty toilet gasket. Also replaced the water valve and hose to the toilet. I asked him to check the flushers in the other toilets. He did that and fixed some worn flappers, etc. He was very through and professional. His price was very reasonable, much less than I expected. I will use him again for any plumbing services.

We had been tolerating a couple of leaks under the sink with the knowledge that we needed to get a plumber in to find them because we couldn?t. When the garbage disposal went out we knew that we couldn?t put it off any longer. We chose Starks Plumbing because of their Angie?s List rating and their coupon was an added bonus. We called Starks on Monday and told them what was going on. After asking their opinion on the garbage disposal we were planning to purchase, we scheduled them to come to the house on Wednesday between 12 and 1. We loved the one hour time frame instead of four! Late Wednesday morning they called and let us know it would be closer to 12 to 12:30. Since they got our answering machine they called the cell phone to confirm that it would be around 12:30 and apologized because of the delay and not being closer to 12. When they arrived they verified what work needed to be done, gave an overall look at the setup and got to work. At first he thought the leak was the need for a new faucet but found that an ?O? ring needed replaced and not a new faucet at all! (darn) He also replaced a supply line that was rusted and damaged and then put in the new garbage disposal. The piping to the garbage disposal was a little odd so he worked it all in as tidy as possible and checked to see that it worked. Then he double checked to make sure all the leaks were fixed. The total bill was 141 before our Angie?s List discount. All of our questions were answered politely, professionally and thoroughly. We are very pleased with Starks and will most definitely call them again when we have any plumbing issues. Thanks!!

Steve the plumber came to my house 30 minutes after I called him. He gave me a quarter that I thought was a very reasonably priced. He was very clean in uniform. Wore shoe covers, was very nice.

This was a non-emergency repair. Steve came on the day/ time he said he would. Found the problem immediately, installed new part in 5 minutes, cleaned up after himself. Also answered my questions and advised on several other plumbing issues I have. I will definitely have him back to correct those at a later date. Very impressed with his professionalism, pleasant demeanor and reasonable prices.

They were excellent. I think the price was fair.

I left a message for Steve to call me, and he returned my call the next day. We made an appointment for him to come out to look over the job. He initially did not have the parts he needed to repair the leaking faucets, so he returned the next work day with the parts to do the job. He fixed the two leaking faucets, then capped the yard hydrant and installed the new faucet near where the existing water line had been. Lastly, he "snaked" my garage floor drain and got it flowing freely. The jobs were all completed in about 2 hours, and he did a great job as usual. I thought the cost of the parts, and labor for the time he was here was very fair. He even gave me an Angie's List discount without me asking.

They're friendly. They showed up on time. They have very reasonable labor and parts rates. I was very pleased with them. I intend to use them again whenever I have a plumbing issue.

Stark's plumbing was recommended to us by my wife's father who has patronized the company for several years. The ideal solution to the valve seat not closing fully was to use a newer type of valve configuration, but worked with us to replace and repair the existing valve and valve seat sets. This is the most reasonable price for plumbing services we have experienced. Recently we had a well advertised large regional company replace a toielt tank flapper and pull and reset the toilet to replace the wax ring for $358. Look for my review on that company. .

Our house inspector recommended Stark. Service was prompt and courteous.

At about 9:45am I called Steve at Starks Plumbing. Told him my master bedroom shower was not working (very little water coming out with no pressure). He asked me how old my house was (11 years) and he said it was a common problem about every 10 years with shower valves. He asked me to see if I could read the make of the valve on the handle or cover and call him back (he was in the middle of a job). I called him back and left the information requested on a voice mail. He called me back in 15 minutes and told me that only one plumbing supply store in Indianapolis carried my particular brand of valve (Mixet). He was booked pretty tight today already and said it would take him an extra hour for him to go and get it and he just didn't have time today. I told him I was off work today and I could go get it. He told me what to ask for and how much it should cost ($40 with new knob) and to call him back if I could get it today. I called ahead and they had the part. After I purchased it (about 1:45pm) I called him and left another message. He called me back about 3pm and said he would be at my house in 5 minutes. He came and fixed the shower, and an additional last minute project I asked him to fix, a leaky Delta bathroom faucet (with a part from his pickup), all in about an hour. Very professional and at a very good price.

See above. I rated price as a B only because I am always in sticker shock at contractor prices, not because I feel Starks Plumbing is outrageous.

Our outside spicket was leaking. We contacted Starks Plumbing and everything went as well as usual. I called Steve, he scheduled our appointment, and everything from start to finish was handled exceptionally well. He had to shut off the water from the house, he cut a hole in our drywall in the downstairs closet, then put on new valve for the outside spicket. I would feel comfortable using Starks Plumbing again in the future, even if I had to let them into my house without me being there. Great Company!!!

As soon as we had completed the framing, Steve came out and completed the initial pluming rough-in, including setting the toilet and bathtub. Once we had the drywall completed, he came back and finished all the work in the bathroom and laundry room. Then when the cabinets were in, he did the final work to include installing the kitchen sink and dishwasher. Steve did a great job each time he was here. He was responsive to all of our questions and to any calls I made to him. A few weeks after the work was completed, we noticed a water backup in the laundry room. I called Steve and he came out the same day. What he found was actually due to something we had done and not part of his work. Overall, we could not have been more pleased with the work done by Steve. He was courteous, responsive and professional. We will definately use him again for any plumbing needs.

The service described above was done in conjunction with the finishing of kitchen marble tops and Mr. Stark arrived before they were completely done, but he worked around the congestion and did a beautiful job.

Called Steve with problem with lack of water.Gave me solution for difficulty with water softener being the problem. Replaced commode in second bathroom. I nstalled faulty tub spout. Repaired leaky kitchen faucet.. All in a timely manner.

Very well. The serviceman evaluated the situation and suggested a course of action that solved the problem the first time.
