Screen porch addition in Carmel,Looks like it was built with the original house
Remodel completed in 2016. Greg, Tim, and crew were excellent. They rolled with change orders with grace. Timely. Helpful. Polite. Beautiful work. Almost 2 years later, and our kitchen/dining room combo are, by FAR, our favorite areas of the house. Worth the expense. I would do it again with no regrets.

We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Greg, Tim and crew were so enjoyable to work with. We never hesitated leaving our home while they were working, because we trusted them as if they were family or close friends. The quality of the craftsmanship was beyond what we hoped for. They were always punctual and communication was never a problem. We appreciated that the were conscious of our budget and made suggestions based on what we could afford. Although this project took over 3 months to complete, I can honestly say that I can't think of one issue we had with these guys. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future and we would recommend them to anyone considering a home remodel.

The work started as scheduled and progressed well throughout the project. There were only minor glitches, and overall every step was perfectly timed. Tim S., who also managed the project, was in frequent contact and kept us informed as work progressed. The craftsmen that they used were top notch, very detailed, and kept the site very clean. The most intricate of the work involved the tile work which is quite elaborate and detailed. Tracy, the tile craftsman, was very detailed in laying out the pattern and involving us in the decision process. As a result of a suggestion by Tim, we added a Barn Door entry to the bath, solving an issue with the old entry. The project was completed in the agreed upon time frame and exceeded our expectations!
Description of Work: We contacted Tim Steill requesting a consultation regarding the remodel of our master bath. We wanted to remove a very oversized garden tub, tear down a wall separating the shower and toilet from main area, and remove all current fixtures - in other words start from scratch. We picked a general theme. Tim prepared several drawings of options and provided resources to pick out material. The suppliers were helpful and offered useful suggestions, which helped us quickly make decisions. Although the amount we ended up spending was higher than we anticipated, we decided on very high quality material and fixtures, because as we all know, you get what you pay for!

Fabulous! Since Greg Spivey Remodeling had remodeled our master bath two years ago (see additional review) we knew we wanted Greg and Tim Steil back to remodel our kitchen. We worked with Greg on the plans, then Tim took over the project management. They connected us to all the providers we needed for the various parts of the new kitchen. Working with Campbell Cabinets for our custom cabinets was fun and Custom Floors provided gorgeous granite counters (thanks Rodney Johnson!) When the job was finished I had the beautiful updated kitchen you will only see on an HGTV show! There are only a few more small jobs to be done on our home, but we will always call Greg Spivey Remodeling to do the work. I will upload pictures soon.

The workmanship for all the work completed was outstanding. The contractors engaged for each stage of the project were professional, friendly, hard working and they in all cases provided the highest quality of work. They offered suggestions on items where I was not sure, and they helped me achieve a beautiful living space likely to be enjoyed year round. There was one project hiccup caused by a delay in receiving an important item, at no fault to Spivey. But they worked with me on re-arranging priorities to get the project done on time. From quoting through project completion, they made me feel like I was the most important customer! I would recommend them for any home improvement.

The entire project from start to finish was seamless. Greg had the vision of exactly what we wanted and we trusted him with the concept and design. I could not visualize where walls were going to be etc. and I just made Greg promise that the new addition would not look out of place. We wanted it to appear as though our home always had 4 bedrooms. The project took about 5 weeks and Greg's crew had a very efficient timeline of when the electrician, hvac, drywaller and carpenter would be there. We wold recommend Greg and his crew to anyone! Glad we were able to find them!
Description of Work: Greg and his team added a 4th bedroom to our house. We had a 2 story entryway and wanted to utilize the space to create a 4th bedroom. We also had Greg's team rebuild and update our stair case banister.

Description of Work: New pantry, bathroom remodel, bedroom remodel.
Very High Quality. Fair and honest. Talented and nice group of guys to work with. We selected Greg Spivey Remodeling after interviewing several different contractors for this extensive remodel project. A neighbor had used Greg Spivey for a recent large project and they were extremely pleased. We are very happy we chose him too! Greg has excellent design and spatial sense and he helped solve a number of challenging space issues in our 90 year old home to create a stunningly beautiful and highly functional kitchen. He presented very detailed drawings of potential layout options and was very flexible with our suggestions. It is clear Greg has extensive experience remodeling older homes, and he and his team confidently put together a great new space out of our formerly cramped galley kitchen. The specifications of the work to be performed in the contract were extremely detailed and complete. The onsite project manager, Tim, is the co-owner of the company and he is extremely detail oriented and responsive. Carpentry: fantastic master carpenter and assistants. Custom wood cubbies are beautiful. Custom walk-in pantry. The carpenter also deftly tackled a number of challenges presented by our 90 year old home. Cabinets: Carter Cabinets made absolutely beautiful custom cabinets. Electrical: Excellent lighting. Also, the electrictian placed under-cabinet lighting, switches, and outlets. This allowed the backsplash to be uninterrupted. Plumbing: Excellent. Masonry: Teethed in new brick with the existing brick and did an excellent job blending it all in. New brick exterior walls look seamless. Drywall: This was the one hiccup. A second drywall team came in and all was good. Painting: We hired our own painter.
Description of Work: Complete custom kitchen and bathroom remodel. Moved bathroom to a better location. Bumped out exterior wall. Opened up and spanned load-bearing walls. New architectural series Pella windows and patio door. Created custom cubbies/mud room and a walk-in pantry. Created a beautiful custom maple built-in buffet that blends right into the 1920's period home.

The clients were young professionals, they were very busy. The clients didn't even seem to be phased that we had the whole first floor in what seemed like a war zone. The clients had a temporary kitchen in the basement. The total crew bonded with this family. The client had tears the last day, hugs all around.
When Greg came by and spent a long time analyzing the area to determine how we could accomplish this, it was obvious why the company has such high ratings on Angie's List. He was so thorough and knowledgeable that we were confident that we could trust his work. We also appreciated that he was as interested the necessary underlining structure for the new room as the design. He also designed a clever way to get the heating and cooling up to the new room through an existing column which prevented having to add a clumsy chase in the lower room. When the estimate came in well within our budget, we did not even consider looking at other companies. Our confidence was not misplaced. Construction started on time as planned and was completed quickly. All of the people who worked on the project were very talented and professional. Tim(2) is an amazing carpenter. Paul did a beautiful job on the drywall especially the ceiling in the lower room. The electricians, painters and HVAC teams were skilled as well. When we had questions and concerns, the project manager Tim(1) was helpful and responsive. On a couple of occasions we asked for some additions and changes to the project and they were very flexible and accommodating. They were also very good about protecting the carpets, wood floors, and other areas of the house. In general they cleaned up after work every day. Unfortunately, drywall dust can find it way into everything but was mostly limited to the construction area and a few connecting rooms. We did asked for additional work ( a cold air return, more lights, some drywall repair elsewhere and painting) which added to the original estimate of $12,000, but feel the cost overrun was reasonable. We would not hesitate to use this company again.
Description of Work: We had a two story great room in our house that while dramatic always seemed like wasted space. In fact when we built the house in 1999, we had even gotten a quote from the builder to make that area into an additional room. It was beyond our budget at the time. Fast forward today we asked Greg Spivey to build that room at the second story level which added an additional 200 square feet of usable space for a much wanted sewing room and relaxing space just outside the master bedroom.

Because we had engaged Greg Spivey Remodeling about three years ago to significantly remodel the house which we had just purchased (and had a very positive experience with that project), the company and its very professional staff was known to my wife and myself. During this new project, which was completed this past July, the workmen had to be very careful to not damage the home's interior finishes which were not part of the project and to be respectful of us ,since we continued to live in the home during the construction process (that was a mistake for us). It should be noted that almost all of our home's furniture on the first floor had to be moved to storage during the construction work. Other than finding that living in the middle of a major on-going construction project to be very difficult and not recommended for any similar future projects, we found that due to the carefully thought-through design and construction planning, there were virtually no major surprises or unexpected issues (there was actually some cost-savings). It seemed to be helpful that in the construction agreement which we executed with Greg Spivey Remodeling that an approximate date for project completion was stated. This completion date, which was met, provided a clear end-goal for the construction and helped to provide an incentive to keep things moving.
Description of Work: At our formerly one-story home (with a high roof line), Greg Spivey Remodeling designed and built a large bedroom, full bath, and closets in what had been unused attic space. This work required carefully replacing the existing truss system, which had been holding up the roof, with a rafter and floor-joist system including large structural beams. This construction also required designing and building a stairway from the first floor to the new second floor living space.

This was our second major project for this client. We had just finished a first floor renovation about two and a half years ago.On this project we had to remove the ceiling in most of the condo to be able to install support for the new second floor. This left the client with a one room sanctuary for a three month long project.I will say they weathered the storm very well.Due to the clients living situation, there were daily text and emails as to the project time line.I was promised a boat ride if we completed on time.Last saturday I was on my clients pontoon enjoying a nice fall boat ride. This was our 16th project in the neighborhood. Thank you Mr. and Mrs client

The team started around the second week of March 2015 and the project was complete at the end of May 2015. They were professional and we were happy with just about everyone. If there were any issues, they didn't hesitate to take care of it. They made our house so much more efficient than ever before. The only thing we didn't like is that we had to often clean up the mess. We did have to take care of appliances, lighting and painting on our own, but Greg and Tim worked well with us and the other vendors to make sure we were happy with everything. It takes a little longer than normal for projects, but Greg Spivey works with the same subcontractors every time, so they can ensure good quality work. I would definitely work with them again! Thanks Greg, Tim and the rest of the team!

The entire process took about 3 1/2 months. The Spivey crew was a dream to work with daily. Greg was on site for major excavation and Tim, the project manager, was always available and kept us up to date with what was happening and what to expect. The entire crew had been together for years. Each member of the crew was an expert at what they did and were meticulous about their work. The very few problems that came up were handled immediately and easily resolved. The crew came when they said they would, worked hard and kept to a schedule. Again, Tim was accessible at all times, even on a weekend when his crew was not working. The results far exceeded our expectations. The front of our home is beautiful, functional and has generated a lot of cars stopping to admire the work. We highly recommend Spivey Remodeling and will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Our home was built in 1929 and totally made out of concrete. Greg Spivey Remodeling built a three season room on the front of our home over an existing patio on top of the garage under the home. They poured a new foundation to accommodate an enlarged front porch and reconfigured the front yard to build a new approach to the home. They excavated the front yard to decrease the approach, built a tiered set of steps, widened the driveway and rebuilt the crumbling garage walls. Existing retaining walls on either side of the garage were removed and were redesigned. They poured all new concrete for the drive, walkways, sidewalks, steps and front porch. They replaced two lintels that were crumbling on the side of the house. They rebuilt the drain from the driveway into the garage. They designed, manufactured and Installed custom iron railings on the porch. They placed 16 casement windows on the porch, did custom bead board work and ceramic tiling inside the porch.

Tim was our single point of contact from day one until completion. We really appreciated the way he worked with us. He started with out with our drawings and photos of the desired look and took it from there, filling in all the details. He effectively dealt with a curve ball when the foundation installed by our prior contractor failed inspection and required it it be torn out and redone. Tim is very knowledgeable and brought us great ideas, coached us through decision-making with never making us feel rushed, was flexible to meet with us around our work schedules, was immediately responsive to texts and calls, and communicated well such that's we knew what to expect. He is a true professional and sets a high bar for what customer service should be! The daily work crew were really outstanding as well. Always on time, cleaned up after themselves, and worked hard while here. Of special note, the brick guy was so meticulous - flawless! The project was completed on time and on budget!
Description of Work: After a nightmare with another contractor who we hired to build a screened porch onto our home, we were nervous about selecting a new contractor to complete the work. After meeting with Tim Steill with Greg Spivey Remodeling to discuss our plans, we were convinced they would do a good job ... and they did not let us down! We are attaching photos and hope they speak to the high quality of the workmanship. We love our new porch and are very happy we selected Greg Spivey Remodeling!

I was nervous taking over a job another contractor started. The people seemed nice on the phone so I decided to help. This was a hard porch, interior was a post and beam brown county look with the exterior to match existing. The first meeting it was winter with sub- zero temperatures, seemed strange talking about a porch.I knew from the start that the client was not the problem causing the previous contractor situation. The project had to wait till warmer weather. The porch was completed Just before the pool was opened.I feel it looks great and added alot of value to their home.

Everything was excellent. Greg came to our home on two occasions, first to find out what we wanted and second time to bring proposal, samples, etc. When he said he would be here at 4:30 PM, he was here at 4:30 PM. Stayed each time until all questions were answered. We had used his father's construction company about 28 years ago, and that work is still in great condition. Greg had an excellent suggestion regarding the shape of the new shower, because the room is rather small, and it has worked out tremendously. After Greg finalized the contract, he then effectively turned the job over to Tim. Tim was constantly in contact with us and keeping us updated on each of the stages of the work. Workmen were there every day and it went as promised except for one needed item that was delayed, but it was coming from another company. We are very pleased with the results, and would absolutely recommend them and use them in the future. Dick & Brenta Clem

Nice Job in meridian kessler area, nice people to work with.( empty nesters downsizing). We added a new front porch and put a pitched roof on a previously added flat roof addition. The problem was to add the two roof areas we had to change the roof on the entire home. This was very risky because of the roof being removed while the people were living inside. We put two crews on the first stage to try to go fast enough to beat any rain storms.I lost a few nights sleep wondering if our tarps would hold out.The project turned out very nice.I will have before and afters on the web site. We have been in our home for 30 years, and had never done any substantial work on our master bath area. It was time. According to Angie's guidelines, we found 3 providers through Angie's List, interviewed them, got estimates and then chose Greg Spivey Remodeling to do our project. We chose Greg over the other two well qualified contractors because he had great ideas beyond what we originally expressed to him. He had suggestions that ultimately made our remodel what some friends have described as "spa quality." The project had several aspects: Tear out and completely remodel the bathroom; tear out the insides of our closets; gut and rebuild the his/hers dressing areas. Greg had great suggestions for all. The actual work was overseen by Project Manager Tim Steill (Tim 1) and executed in great part by employee Tim (Tim 2). These guys became our new best friends over the coming weeks. We wanted the new master bath to be 100% accessible, as we plan to stay in our 3 bedroom ranch until forever. The project included installing a beautiful wall-hung granite counter supported by a steel frame fabricated by Greg. (One of his super suggestions.) We also had our old bathtub (which for some reason was on a raised platform??) ripped out and a no-threshold door free shower installed. It is fantastic, with tumbled stone floor, glass half walls, and Italian ceramic tile on the walls. The folks Greg contracts to do the tile work, plumbing and electric are the best craftsmen ever. Greg also suggested putting a linen closet in where there was a superfluous second door. It was a manufactured linen cabinet, which is beautiful but saved on the cost of having it custom built. We absolutely love our bathroom and show it off to everyone who comes over. In the dressing areas, Tim 2 gutted the existing vanity on the "hers" side and the never-used extra sink and vanity on the 'his" side. He widened the entry to the area (accessibility) and the bathroom door, then installed a wonderful storage area where the sink had been. Again it was a great quality manufactured piece, saving us on custom costs. When all the work was done and the dust was settled, we ended up with a fantastic new bathroom/dressing space which will serve us beyond all our expectations. Working with Tim 1 was a wonderful experience. He is friendly, yet professional. He actually responds to your texts or phone calls immediately! He works far beyond the usual to make sure you get exactly what you want. This was demonstrated in one instance when I decided that the tile I had picked for the floor just was not what I wanted. The Tile Shop said they would return the tile, but they had to have the original cartons so they could have the lot numbers, etc. Not an unreasonable demand, however when we had opened all 6 of the cartons (just to make sure I didn't like it ) the cartons had been thrown in the construction dumpster. Knowing how much money this would ultimately cost me, Tim 1 went dumpster diving and retrieved the cartons and then he took the tiles back himself, saving us SO much time, trouble and MONEY. THIS, dear consumers, is service! I am going to try to attach pictures to this report because I really can't describe what a beautiful bathroom we now have. The before and after pictures are HGTV worthy. Thanks so much to Tim 1, Tim 2, Greg Spivey and all their crafts people for giving us this wonderful improvement to our home.

Our home turned out beautiful. Greg and Tim so easy to work with as well as their entire crew. Will definitely use in the the future as we have already discussed upcoming projects. Definitely the most professional contractors we have ever worked with. Thanks again for exceeding my expectations!!
Description of Work: Work has not started yet. To start in approximately 3 weeks. We are getting a new porch on and a flat roof on back of house is going to be removed. Basically a whole new roof line. So far Greg and Tim have been excellent to work with. Can't wait for project to start.

Greg and his team were excellent to work with. High levels of professionalism from each of his employees. Quality of the work was top notch. We would definately use them again. In fact, they're now doing about 5 more jobs within just a few houses of ours. Highly recommended.

They removed the existing plumbing fixtures and appliances. Removed existing counter tops, cabinets, drywall and plaster from the kitchen ceiling walls and affected dining room walls and ceiling. Removed crown molding and plaster from dining room and kitchen. Removed flooring and underlayment in the kitchen and removed tile flooring in the sunroom. Removed partial wall into the dining room and removed partial brick wall into the sunroom. Installed new support beam spanning the opening between the kitchen and sunroom and installed new or repaired ceiling joists in the dining room. Installed new electrical ceiling can lighting with 3 way wall dimmer switches in the sunroom, kitchen and dining rooms. Installed new ceiling fans in the sunroom with remote controls. installed new insulation in the kitchen and dining rooms. Installed a ceiling vent fan over the new induction stove top that was given free as an incentive to buy. They added flooring and lighting to the sunroom. Completely remodeled and rewired the kitchen and added new floors, subflooring, custom cabinets, wall trim, countertops, lighting, and installed new sink, appliances and plumbing. The carpenter, Tim Huber, faced many challenges and met each one head on and did an outstanding job. He kept us informed and worked with us every step of the way to see that we got exactly what we wanted. And if we didn't know what we wanted, he helped us figure it out. As with any major project there were a few problems and minor delays along the way. However, the project manager, Tim Stile, did whatever it took to make things right. The only reason that I have not posted a review until now is that I wanted to look back a year later and see if I was going to still be happy with the quality of the workmanship and the project overall. I can say only this... we spent three months living in total disarray and I would do it all over again ONLY if the work was done by Greg Spivey Remodeling.
Description of Work: They remodeled the existing kitchen and adjoining sunroom porch and dining room.
