Spivey Remodeling

EXCELLENT! We worked primarily with Tim Styles. It was a tremendous partnership on the kitchen, and we truly appreciated the outstanding customer service. Tim is a detail person, so when things needed attention, he was right on it. We appreciated the access by email, which cut down unnecessary interruptions during the day. The budget was reasonable, and the craftmanship on the cabinetry was excellent. The tile work was also outstanding. They were also willing to be flexible with our 'little person' schedule (school, naps, etc). Plus, they really worked with us to minimize the number of days that we would be without a functioning kitchen (less than 2). We will absolutely work with Spivey again, and we highly recommend them.

Greg Spivey is a very professional and courteous person with many realistic ideas and a good reputation as a contractor. Neighbors of ours had utilized his company with excellent results. However, the concepts and innovation that we were looking for in our remodeling job seemed to be only partially there for us.

This was also a project that had unique architectural challenges built into it. However, Tim knew immediately what would solve the problem. This was the first time using Greg Spivey Remodeling. I HIGHLY recommend Tim for your next home remodeling project! He's been a lifesaver!

I wouldn't ever let anyone else touch my house. He is a perfectionist. He is a man of integrity.

He told me he would call me back, but I haven't heard anything back and it's been 3 weeks.

Greg Spivey came out to the house and we told him what we would like to do and he wasn't sure it could be done, but the next time he came out he had a plan for exactly what we wanted. He had some excellent people working for him, we felt completely comfortable with them in our house for weeks on end. His tile man was superb and his drywall and paint man was great. His foreman Tim was also great. They were very receptive to all changes and additions that we made.

They were very professional and reliable. We would hire them for our next projects.

I have nothing but excellent comments about them and the work they did. No problems arose that werent taken care of.

Had Greg Spivey Remodeling come out to quote a job, and never got the estimate back. Called twice after 2 or 3 weeks leaving 2 messages with phone number asking to have my estimate. I still have not received an estimate. There has been no attempt made to contact me, even just to tell me the estimate will be delayed.

Design, framing, dry-wall, finish carpentry, tile, and glass block, well done. Completion time extended well beyond even original optimistic estimate.

Based on all the wonderful reports on Angie's List, I wanted to get an estimate from Greg to refinish our basement. I called on a Monday and left a message on a machine. I did not get a return call, so I called back on Wednesday to make sure he had gotten my message and I spoke to someone who told me they had passed my name and number onto Greg. They said he was extremely busy, but I should wait to hear from him soon. It has been several weeks and I have not gotten a return call from him. I have since gotten three estimates from other companies, who returned my calls within a reasonable amount of time. I understand that companies get very busy, but would have appreciated it, if they had just told me that Greg was too busy at the time to take on any new business or to give estimates instead of leaving me hanging.

This is the second time I have worked with Spivey. I was again very pleased with the outcome. For the most part all of the contractors were very neat and respectful of my home. I did have issue with one carpenter and this was taken care of promptly. Although Greg was initially slow in returning phone calls, once we connected, he provided many design options and solutions to get the most from the space. Tim was again my main contact for this project. He was always quick to respond and worked around my difficult schedule to meet with me whenever necessary. Tim has a great attitude and is very easy to communicate with even in the midst of difficult situations. Having worked with Spivey twice, I look forward to working with them again and would definately recommend them.

WOW! We can say without ANY hesitation that if you are looking at remodelers/builders, you do not need to look any further! Not only does Greg Spivey(do not confuse with his father, Spivey construction) run a no-nonsense, tight ship, but the quality of his sub-contractors is UNMATCHED. I will admit(Greg and Tim don't listen!) that we tend to be VERY, VERY particular about the quality of a job done and we were awed by the Glenn the backhoe man, Gary the concrete man, Rudy the tile guy, Paul the jack of all trades, Tim H. the carpenter, Kevin the plumber, and the list goes on. These gentlemen showed AMAZING skills at what they do and were incredibly professional and polite. We did have some disappointment with the initial plumbing company but so did Greg and Tim and they dropped them as a sub and hired Kevin. Our house is on a main road and many folks watched the 7 month process and have graciously stopped by or called to say how incredible the house looks. Thank you, Greg and Tim!

Overall very happy with the outcome. Greg and Tim are great to work with. Greg gave us help with design when we needed it. My only complaint is the amount of time it took to complete the project (over 3 months). The capenter worked from 9 - 3:30. Some of the windows required 2 people to move them, and it seemed to rain the days they were scheduled. Then we would wait 3 more days, etc. There were several non productive days with our windows out. Other negative is that the drywaller was chronically late/did not show sometimes. The finisher/painter (not included in the price) did comment on what a nice job the carpenter did.

TIM THE FOREMAN WAS GREAT, WAS AT MY HOUSE EVERYDAY, SO CREATIVE, VERY GRACIOUS WITH LISTENING TO MY SUGGESTIONS, VERY IMPRESSED, GREAT CARPENTER

Very easy to work with, and they allowed us to do some of the work ourselves.

HORRIBLE!!!! A REPRESENTATIVE DID COME OUT. IN ORDER TO GET ANYWHERE, THEY WANTED A $250 DESIGNING COST. I INITIALLY PAID IT WITHOUT REALIZING I HAD AN ANGIE'S LIST COUPON FOR A FREE ESTIMATE. AFTER THEY LEFT, THEY WERE WILLING TO RETURN MY CHECK. I GOT ONE INITIAL DRAWING FROM THEM AND THEN NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!!! IN ADDITION, THE DRAWING DIDN'T EVEN INCORPORATE EVERYTHING THAT I WANTED IN MY BASEMENT. I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

I LEFT A MESSAGE, REQUESTING A CALL BACK, AND IT WAS NOT RETURNED IN THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I HAD BEEN SEEKING ESTIMATES FOR A FOUR SEASON SUNROOM.

MY WIFE AND I WOULD COMPLETELY AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND GREG SPIVEY REMODELING. THIS IS THE SECOND ADDITION THEY HAVE DONE FOR US AND THEIR WORK AND WORK ETHIC IS ABOVE REPROACH. THEY WILL DO WHAT YOU ASK AND ALSO GIVE GREAT SUGGESTIONS TO MAKE YOUR ADDITION AN AWARD WINNING PROJECT. GREG AND TIM ARE VERY INVOLVED WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT AND WERE ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR ANY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS.

THIS WAS AN EXTRAORDINARILY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE, FROM THE INITIAL SALES CONTACT WITH SCOTT, WHO GAVE US EXCELLENT SUGGESTIONS, TO TIM (THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER), WHO RESPONDED QUICKLY AND SATISFACTORILY TO EVERY CALL, TO JACK (THE CARPENTER), WHO DID A VERY CAREFUL, FIRST-CLASS JOB. WE WERE PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED WITH QUALITY OF PEOPLE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COMPANY -- IN EACH AND EVERY CASE, WE WERE TREATED WITH HONESTY AND RESPECTFULLY. I GIVE THEM MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

SUPERIOR CARPENTRY, TILE WORK AND PAINTING. THEY WERE OUTSTANDING. THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE OF THE TIME OF COMPLETION WAS EXTENDED.

I APPRECIATED HIS PROMPT, RESPONSE AND CANDOR. WE WILL MOST DEFINITELY RECONSIDER HIM IF NEEDED.

HE WOULD CALL AND LEAVE ME MESSAGES THAT HE HAD THE PRICE FOR ME, BUT I ASKED HIM FOR A WRITTEN ESTIMATE. HE SAID 'WE HAD EVERYTHING COVERED' AND JUST GAVE A VERBAL ESTIMATE WHICH I DIDN'T FEEL WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS EVIDENT IN THE PROJECT. THEY USED ONLY THE BEST MATERIALS, LABORERS, AND PROFESSIONAL CRAFTSMAN. THEIR CREWS TRIED TO BE AS LESS INTRUSIVE AS POSSIBLE. THE CREWS WERE ALL PROFESSIONAL!
