Because of their program, along with an extended warranty, service is basically cost-free other than the annual contract. I've had thousands of dollars of repair done for "free" other than the initial cost. Service techs are fantastic. Polite, professional & clean.

Description of Work: We had a seasonal inspection of our AC on Wednesday by another company. They advised that our AC and Furnace needed to be replaced. We were not comfortable with their opinion or pricing, and called in Airtron for an opinion. What a great decision! From Rachel in the office, to Ryan who came out to look at the system on Thursday, to the two gentlemen who installed the new furnace on Saturday morning, we were very comfortable with this organization. They were all great at explaining what we needed, and what they were doing. Truly a top-notch group that I highly recommend. We ended up getting a 96% efficient furnace and a 16 SEER AC unit and a whole house humidifier for about $1000 less than what we were quoted for a 90% furnace and 13 SEER AC. We'll get another $950 back on utility company rebates and tax credits. Airtron made a crappy situation a much less crappy. Thank You Airtron!

Description of Work: Airtron came to our home on 6/5 per the maintainence agreement. This service went OK, but I asked the tech [Ron O] to check for a gas smell in the furnace room. The gas leak was still present when he left. He indicated the coil in our a/c was shot and should either be replaced [or perhaps the entire unit].Airtron sent a salesman within one day and I agreed to replace the a/c unit.On 6/7, 'Dave R' installed the a/c unit. I also asked him to find/fix the gas leak. He said he could not fix it and I should call someone else; this surprised me that on two different occassions, a heating/cooling company didn't/couldn't fix a gas leak inside the house....concerning! A few years previous, Airtron had drilled a hole in our basement floor for water from the condensor to drain to. Subsequently, we have had a foul smell coming from this area [separate from the gas smell]; this too was not addressed by Airtron. After researching, I found this method of drainage is, at best, a bad idea. Over the years, it had leaked onto the floor, damaging our trim and wallboard. The next day, I called Summers heating/cooling/plumbing to address the issues Airtron did not. They quickly found/fixed the gas leak, discovered the condensor pump was not operating [again, not detected by Airtron], re-routed the condensation drainage to our plumbing, and sealed the hole Airtron had made. Since then, no smells and everything is going well. I returned [sent on June 29], the customer service card they provided, giving them a '0', 'definitely would not recommend' and noted I would be writing a review on Angie's list. Three weeks have passed and no contact by them. Needless to say, I will not be using Airtron ever again.

Description of Work: Airtron was called out to do an inspection and cleaning of two furances and two a/c units. There was at least one item that they stated worked that acctually did not. And all four units were supposed to be cleaned. One furnance was somewhat cleaned and I had to go back and finish what was not completed. The other furnance was never touched. One a/c unit was hosed off but not brushed off. the other one was not touched. I was told that the service would take 45 mins to one hour per unit (x4) and the guy was gone in 1 hour. After they left I had another company come out to inspect what was done because I could believe the guy did his job correctly. And the other inspector found that the units were either not touched at all or poorly cleaned and he found items that needed to be replaced. I called the company three times and left two messages. Noone returned my call. I would not recommend this company for several reasons. I've hesitated on filing this report and wanted to just wash it under the rug, but two months later I'm still thinking about the poor service and I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Description of Work: Our AC was not working, we called Airtron. They came out, did a test and determined that there was a leak in the line somewhere, and it would cost $1500 - $2000 to test the line and repair it. Then they suggested that we should put in a new system. The tech arranged for a salesman to come by...they didn't come on the day they were supposed to, and I had to call them to figure out where they were. When the salesman got to my house, he wanted to install a heatpump, new duct work, the works...between $7,500 - $10,000. I got a second opinion. Another company figured out where the leak was right away and fixed it that day for $675.00 to replace the line and put in new freon. I won't go back to Airtron...scam artists! $89 to come and and they will apply it to a ridiculous price for a repair or they will try to sell you the moon. This other guy came out to give me a free quote and cost a lot less. DO NOT CALL AIRTRON!!!!

Description of Work: These folks have made three trips to one of my rental properties and never figured out the problem. The first fellow that came out never even looked at the AC unit. He just showed my tenant how to program the thermostat, which wasn't the problem. The second guy came out and said he needed to come back the following day because there was ice on the unit. I had asked the service coordinator to walk the tenant through the checks that needed to be done before the technician came back out when she called to schedule the appointment. My tenant said no one ever gave her instructions. The third time a technician came out he told me the unit was low on freon, and quoted me $120 for the first pound, then $65 for the second. But went on to say he thought I should have him do a test to check for a leak. He then quoted me $229 for the test and $1,000 for the probable repair! I told him to put the freon in and leave it. The house is only 7 years old. Then he called me back to say that the pressure readings weren't right on the unit and he was going to have to come back out with his supervisor since he couldn't figure it out. Meanwhile, my tenant is hot. I told them forget it we would hire somewhere else.
