Scenic Green

They did a good job but I didn’t think that the quality of the much was that great. They got here real quick and spread it real quickly. I got a lot of fungus from it and I probably will not use that mulch again. It degraded quickly. I am sure if it was the summer or what.

We bought a Big Deal for fall clean-up. We have about 1/4 acre in the suburbs with several mature maples and oaks in the front and back yards. Scenic Green got to work immediately and cleaned out all the shrubs (many surrounding the house), too. They also cleaned the leaves from the driveway, deck, sidewalks, and even along the street in front of our home. We are happy with the result. We had anticipated additional charges/hours due to the amount of leaves, but this company was able to compete the work in two hours. Nice. Original work dates were delayed, but we have come to expect delays for fall clean-ups due to Indiana weather or surprise work loads. Good communication via email, too. (I never needed to call them.) We would use this company again.

I am always reluctant to use Angie's List specials and have rarely done so. The contractor is usually overwhelmed, has difficulty scheduling or can't do the job. Both times I have tried have been less than satisfactory, not because the contractor is not good, but because he doesn't have the time. In this case we had trouble scheduling and following directions. Weather didn't help. The job was eventually completed.

I explained I needed an hour in the front yard and an hour in the backyard. Because there were 2 guys, I knew they would only work an hour. HOWEVER... My neighbor said they worked 30 minutes. They did not do a bad job; they left small limbs in the yard for me to pick up. I'm handicapped and would not have needed them if I were able to do it. But the actual raking was an acceptable job. I called the owner to let him know they spent only a half hour, and he was pretty nasty on the phone. Said the other 30 minutes he spent bagging leaves, and they had done a perfect job and I had no right to complain. He would come back and do the backyard for three or four HUNDRED dollars. Yeah...no. I would have a much better review if the owner hadn't had to be right and justify the lack of actual time they worked. Thanks.

i explained we were mulching because we were putting our house on the market, so it was more for the visual. They were great! Great work, very professional, cleaned up the sidewalks when they were done. I will definitely use them again!

We are so pleased with Scenic Green and Brian Jones. From the start, Brian was an excellent in communicating. There is nothing more frustrating than contacting a business and having sporadic, little, or no communication. As a new potential customer, Brian made all effort to let me know he cared that I took interest in his business, and he maintained steady contact and communication regarding all of my questions and the dialogue of our landscaping/gardening needs. Brian was not "all talk" though, when it came right down to it, he followed through with everything we discussed by telephone. Because I am out of town a great deal and could not be there to check on the work completed by he and his crew, Brian sent photos of the completed job, just as I had requested. They arrived promptly on the day and time they promised and the work they did on our property was excellent. The pricing was very fair and unlike the other company gardening company we worked with, the book keeping was very clear and organized. Not only is the quality of work very high, Brian is personally a pleasure to interact with. Thank you Scenic Green, we look forward to continued work in the next season!

It was a windy day in October (sounds like the start of a novel, eh?) and the team used leaf blowers to round up my leaves on the ground. In the sense, 'you can't fight gravity' the Scenic Green team were using blowers that were at times 'blowin' against the wind'! Nonetheless, I was pleased with Brian's' (Scenic Green) good timing to take care of me - he also trimmed two ornamental trees, several rosebushes and two large evergreen bushes. I thought Brian's Scenic Green offer was a good value and good work. I can recommend him to you.

They did an ok job but they were not as detail oriented as I had expected them to be.

First time we've had mulch installed. We were concerned about all our flower beds but they did a very nice job. We would use them again.

This is the second year we have used Scenic Green for our mulch and they did not disappoint. They were very responsive and flexible when it came to scheduling. They cleaned up after themselves and the mulch looks fantastic. I highly recommend Scenic Green.

I have used Brian Jones and the Scenic Green group for several years. They have always trimmed my bushes and trees, mulched the beds around my home, planted bushes and trees, added needed top soil, and today, they began mowing my lawn for the first time. I am VERY PLEASED with the work they have done, and this is the reason why I added the lawn mowing to the list of outdoor jobs I have asked them to do for me. They are polite and friendly, and very hard working. They are just great guys, and I consider myself fortunate to have them caring for my home.

Scenic Green was extremely professional and went out of their way to do an excellent job. I have two dogs and the backyard had not been cleaned up in some time and the crew was professional and courteous about the dog's mess and did an amazing job of cleaning up all leaves in the yard. They even trimmed back some of the hedges and vines as an extra bonus during the allotted work time. I would HIGHLY recommend using them to anyone and will definitely use them again in the future!

It went OK. They didn’t complete the job initially via removing the leaves. They indicated the amount of time only allowed for the leaves to be put into piles. I later hired to them to complete the rest of the leaf removal project.

00Scenic Green arrived when they said they would. They raked the leafs prior to mowing the lawn. Also trimmed some tree branches that were hanging too low by our fence. They cleaned up all dropped branches and leaves. The yard looked really great when they finished. Scenic Green is very knowledgeable about lawn care and plants (shrubs, flowering plants, etc.). We have used them for many years and have always been satisfied with their work.

I dislike that they did not put all the mulch down. I wasn't home at that time and they told my husband that the front really didn't need any more mulch. According to the season, I needed it and didn't have it. I would not hire them again. They did show up on time.

Brian impressed me at first with his attention to our project. We paid him a significant amount of money to plant grass seed in a small area of our back yard (approximately 50' x 60') last April. I was worried that the soil was not very good, but Brian assured me the soil was good. We watered conscientiously per Brian's instructions. Per his instructions we fertilized the grass about 8 weeks from the time it germinated, which was in July. We kept a barrier fence up to keep our dogs out of the area until early August. The grass came in very patchy, with many bare spots throughout. Many weeds came in with the grass, which looks terrible. The lawn has a huge crab grass infestation, which would have to be due to the dirt underneath or the quality of seed used. Since Brian assured us that the topsoil was very good before he planted, and he also assured us he used only top quality seed, we are mystified as to the origin of the crab grass. Brian came out in late June or early July and added a little more grass seed. He said he thought the lawn looked great. About 2 weeks ago we applied weed killer to the lawn. Unfortunately the weed killer stressed the grass and now there are many brown spots to go with all the numerous bare spots that never sprouted. Upon our request Brian came out today and insisted the lawn looks good to him (!) He suggested we rent a slicer and slit seed the lawn for the fall. I reminded him that we paid him a great deal of money, and we have not had a good outcome. He deflected responsibility back to us, saying he has no control over how we cared for the lawn all summer. Meanwhile, he walked all over the lawn taking pictures with his cell phone to "cover his butt." I told him if he is not willing to do anything further for us he should just leave, which he did. I was quite surprised at Brian's attitude. I hired him in the first place because of good customer service reviews he received from Angie's List customers. He made absolutely no offer to at least help us in part with saving the lawn. Now we have to invest more time and money to fix the job that he did not do properly in the first place.

I thought the service was excellent , professional and timely. The mulch applied could have been a little thicker/deeper according to my past experiences . Overall I was pretty satisfied.

Brian and his crew showed at 9:30 and completed cleanup around 3:30. They weeded all of our mulch beds, trimmed bushes and trees in the back, removed three different ivy beds, and trench edged two beds in the front! Awesome work! Will definitely use scenic green again!

They came out and raked or blew the leaves onto a large tarp. Then loaded the leaves into their truck. They did a very good job.
