+ -1 moreSince we had never filed an insurance claim or replaced a roof, we wanted to go with a personal recommendation. Russell Hill was referred to us by a neighbor and we were very happy with the professionalism and attention to detail that was provided by Ramsey. Ramsey met with the insurance adjuster and was able to show him the areas of concern- the adjuster even commented that Ramsey was very easy to work with compared to other companies. We were explained the process by both the adjuster and Ramsey and felt comfortable moving forward. The roof was installed on the date promised. Naturally, due to weather there were minor changes, but Ramsey always kept us updated. The roof, gutters and window screens look amazing. We arereally happy with the quality of work and wouldn't hesitate to call Russell Hill again.

Half in advance and the rest when the work was done. My tenant felt they were very personable and professional. We definitely would hire them again.

+ -1 moreI paid for a "deal purchase" which included a full inspection and minor repairs to be done. Then the deal stated I would get a $200 credit for larger repairs that would have to be done at a later time. The guy came out to my house and could not pinpoint the reason for the leaking. He went through various possible options and said he would quote me on all of them but never found the real cause. He also only went up on a ladder and looked at my roof for MAYBE 15 minutes. The deal said they would go in my attic and do a full inspection as well as minor repairs which both were never done. Anyway, I never received the quote so I emailed them 4-5 weeks later and they said they would look into it and send me the quote that day. They finally sent the quote the following day (dated for that day) and said they had done the estimate the same week they came out but maybe sent it to the wrong person. So basically I paid for a crappy inspection when I could have gotten a free inspection from other companies that would do what you paid for as listed in the deal.

+ -1 moreAfter placing an offer on a home to potentially purchase, our home inspector found that the roof was not in good condition. To get a better idea of what we were getting into, we called in the roofing professionals of Russell Hill Contractors. A couple of the owners came prepared to get their hands dirty and give us a full inspection of the roof. They did a great job of talking us through their process, as well as giving us insights on exactly what they were doing and looking for, specifically. After the on-roof inspection was complete, we went into the attic and lower levels of the house to look for other signs and symptoms of other issues stemming from water damage. After it was all said and done, we were very grateful for their professionalism AND thoroughness. Due to their findings, which we totally agreed with, based upon the pictures, moisture measurements, insights, etc, we decided to not move forward with this house. If it were not for their completed inspection, this could have been a great financial burden to us, as we later found the seller was not going to work with us regarding the roof.
Description of Work: Roof inspection for a potential home purchase. Based on this experience, I will definitely look to Russell Hill Contractors for all future roofing needs.

Ramsey and his team have been phenomenal to work with and are extremely knowledgeable about the entire process including the insurance claim process. I would use them again for sure. Don’t trust anyone to do your roof, it is much more technical than you think and Russell Hill is very experienced and trustworthy.

+ -1 moreWe had a water stain on our ceiling. I called Joe and he talked me through the situation and sent out his partner Ramsey to work with the insurance adjuster. It was nice to have someone championing for us. Joe was prompt in responding to all of my many questions as I'd never had a roof replaced before and didn't understand all of the terms. The insurance adjuster was a bit slow so Joe called to check on everything and make sure we didn't have any further questions. Once all of the insurance information went through and I got the choices picked, the supplies were delivered that week and the job was completed on the Saturday. The crew was here early in the morning and gone by 3pm. There was one hiccup where they accidentally dropped a tool and it caused a little bit of damage. He rectified the situation and was quick to get it fixed. After the job was complete Ramsey came out and did a once over to make sure everything was cleaned up well. They did a great job with their customer service and follow-up/through. Thank You for a job well done.

When I brought my concerns to Joe Hill, he seemed basically unaware of what the Angie's List Deal included, and stated, "I'm not sure about what kind of written report that you were wanting". He replied in writing to my email and a voice mail with the following: "I listened to the message and decided you were not a customer that we want to do business with". Nuff said!
Description of Work: I purchased a Roof Maintenance Package, including $200 repair credit, an Angies List Deal for $79. The Angies List Deal package was to include: a roof inspection, minor repairs, caulking exposed nail heads on flashing, resealing around any unsealed pipe collars, exhaust fans, vents, and chimney flashing up to 4 penetrations, any other general maintenance, checking for interior leaks that may not be noticeable from the exterior of your home, providing photos of other areas in need of repair, a summary report on any potential plan of action. We received none of this except the inspection. This company rescheduled every appointment we set, and I had to ask for their follow up report. They did a cursory roof inspection, and furnished us with a quote for $10,000+ of work that 'needed to be done'. We received only a brief inspection and a proposal (which they say is their inspection report). We have met with three other roofing companies, all of whom did a more thorough inspection, provided us with more information, as well as a quote for work to be done, all for FREE. So, I deduce from this, since no other service was provided by Russell Hill Contracting, we paid $79 for what should have been a FREE quote.

After getting quotes, I chose them because they had the clearest idea of what I wanted in regards to improving the look & performance of a new roof. I have a lot of trees on my property and the roof has a lot of peaks & valleys. They helped improve a problem area behind my chimney to install a V-shaped section that would divert sediment from ending up in the valley behind my chimney. All the work on the roof was done in one day and everything was done professionally and cleanup was excellent. The skylights were replacements of three 30-year-old skylights and the wood casings the old skylights were set in are not available anymore. Instead they came with a team about a week later and put in new trim underneath the skylight and it looks better than I even imagined. They also got rid of some overhanging branches above the roof. Since this was a large purchase, it was very important to me that I get a crew that would get everything right the first time and clean up what was replaced. Russell Hill Contracting more than met my expectations and I have been recommending them to anyone who needs any work completed like this.

They were very tidy, draping the entire room, before beginning. They not only repaired the major area that was concerning me, they addresses all smaller damaged areas in the room. The workers were courteous and hard-working. They cleaned up beautifully and now all I need to do is to repaint to feel like I finally have a safe and nice living room!
