Block windows were professionally done at an exceptionally reasonable price. Brick work wasn't completed per request and had to be completely redone at great expense by another company. No offer of refund was forthcoming. Your luck seems to be based on which workman is sent. Your experience

[Member Name Removed] was rehabbing a home, all work was done before foundation repairs, mrs went to sell house & an inspection was done & found foundation issues. Raspberry was hired & had an agreement (in writing) to work on 2 walls, work was completed & Raspberry was Paid in Full, another inspection was done & found more work to be done on other walls (Raspberry had not contracted to work in those areas & could not do work without additional funds), mrs hired others to do the additional repairs

It was horrific and they deserved an F. There was a terrible accident, the roofer fell off because they didn't used safety equipment. After many delays of the work, I had a leak, because they did a terrific work and initially they denied that they didn't do the work, but eventually made a repair of my roof. I did file of complaints with the Better Business Bureau.

Yes there was an accident (first one in 28 years, it was unfortunate but he has been back to work for a year now) & the work was slowed down because of it. We strive for perfection but sometimes things happen. We always take leaks seriously & try to repair them ASAP. [Member Name Removed] forgot to mention the leak in her basement (she blamed us for that), crew chief went out several times & finally found the problem (owners downspouts were clogged & caused water to back up). Alot of time, etc. went into finding the problem. Raspberry also installed windows for [Member Name Removed] (prior to working on the roof) & there are no problems.

They came out very well. It was great. They have a very well experienced subcontractor who is fully licensed, bonded, and insured who has worked with them for decades and his name is Bryce. It should be noted that, like anything else, what you buy is all about who installed and how competent they are. So, Bryce was extremely competent. He did a great job and there was no problem there. I was very pleased with him and he worked very hard. He is a Raspberry employee, but I think he is also a subcontractor for them.

It went very well. Royce has decades of experience & was entirely professional. I think this was the 5th or 6th installation that Royce/Raspberry have completed within Harbour Club.
Description of Work: I needed 16 total glass units (windows) replaced in my 30 year old condo. I spoke to several other vendors also on Angie's List. All were professional & responded promptly. I was very clear from the start: The vendor w/the highest installation success rate within MY condominium complex would have a clear advantage. Like most condominium associations, Harbour Club Homeowners has a very specific set of criteria that must be met before the job starts & after it finishes. Also, I did not want any subcontractors (unless they were willing & able to give me hard copy documentation that they are currently fully licensed, bonded & insured.)

Raspberry is a SUPER COMPANY with great employees!!! First of all I'd like to say THANK YOU to Paul (and BillyRay) of Raspberry for caring enough about my situation to come out on a rainy Sunday afternoon to inspect and write up a proposal for my roofing issue. Paul was urgently responsive, caring and understood my situation of dealing with dampness on the inside that could only get worse with time and rain. He sized up the problem and wrote the proposal ...including an issue on the roof that I wasn't aware of. I was comfortable with the amount charged because Raspberry completed another roofing job on another house for me previously. I asked Paul if he would be at the job site and he stated he would be. Even though this is the rainy season, he was able to come out on the first nice day......started and completed my job timely and beautifully. I am very pleased with the roofing job performed....and will definitely call Raspberry for any and all home construction needs I may have in the future. ....sorry I don't have photos, but, take my word for it....THE ROOF LOOKS GREAT AND I AM CONFIDENT there will never be another leak. THANKS RASPBERRY!!!!

Raspberry Building was one of several window repair/replacement companies asked to look at window condition and quote. They responded best to my desire for repair rather than replacement. Management came to house to complete contract after receiving quote.Outside work completed as scheduled before holidays. I agreed to delay inside work until after holidays. Sub-contractor for inside work thought job was directly with me, but Raspberry supervisor quickly resolved any payment issue per contract. Management follow up was great with contract and follow up issue. Quality of work completely met my expectations. I am considering using their services for basement work.

I have other documentation, emails, pictures, etc. to support all of this information, including documentation from Hurd National Office, who, while supportive, could not assist me with this problem since they did not know these people existed. Below is the letter I sent to a Hurd representative in Ohio who finally was able to get us the correct windows ordered. He never returned my email, but instead sent to Raspberry to deal with. I then contacted the national office since I was getting no response. From: Jane Hildenbrand <jane.hildenbrand@sbcglobal.net>; To: Mark.bolesky@hurd.com <Mark.bolesky@hurd.com>; Subject: Recent Window Purchase Sent: Wed, Sep 4, 2013 5:31:17 PM Hello Mark, I’d like to apprise you of a situation of which you might not be aware. When I contacted Hurd directly in January of this year my name was given to Raspberry Construction. Raspberry contacted me and I thought I was dealing directly with Hurd. I found out, much later, that this was not the case. In fact, Raspberry said they had never installed a Hurd Window. This order – Hurd 618173 - is actually a replacement order. This was an order to replace the wrong windows which were installed at my house. Unfortunately, Raspberry received the incorrect windows from your distributor in Indianapolis. I paid Raspberry for the windows before realizing that they were incorrect. He did not come out to oversee the project and to make sure all was well. In fact, I found out later, one set of windows had been mismeasured; the frame of the house had to be rebuilt. That was all for incorrect windows. I am out of the city and lot and have had to pay someone to be there while I was gone. We had to work around their schedule in order to get them in. I have requested some consideration for my inconvenience and trouble but Raspberry, while very cordial, has refused any assistance beyond installing the correct windows. They responded that they paid for two window orders and felt, despite the difficulties I’ve encountered, that they have taken care of the problem. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered they were returning the incorrect windows and the distributor, who we did not know originally was part of the project, was going to re-sell them. In fact, they were going to make money by taking my originally installed windows back right away. They even had cracked the windows and were going to take back and receive a monetary kickback for paying right away. To add to my disappointment the replacement windows were not installed as discussed. They are the correct windows, just not installed properly. Hurd, I’m sure, isn’t aware of anything other than they received two orders for windows from Raspberry Construction. The distributor really does not care anymore because, as I’ve been told, he is no longer in the loop. In fact, he lost his license to due poor service and I was told not to contact him again. He told me, in addition to a foreman from Raspberry, that the windows they put in were better than the ones I ordered. I did tell them they were still not what I ordered. I ordered restoration windows to match the decor. There were many other problems in this project. I was told by the contractor "Isn't life interesting" and "Well, life happens". The comments go on. The only person who cares and has suffered because of this mix up is me. No one seems very interested in my problems or the expenses I've incurred because of the mistake. We are now approaching the 9th month of an order of five windows that all involved said they could easily make and install correctly. This has not been done. Other work had to be put on hold due to this situation. While I still need to purchase 4 additional Hurd windows next spring, I’m unsure of whom to buy them from considering the seeming lack of care displayed by all involved. I am contacting Hurd directly because I need your help. I live in the Meridian-Kessler area of Indianapolis that prides itself on its historic homes and renovations. It ranges anywhere from bungalows to mansions, including the Governor's mansion across Meridian Street. I was told Hurd is the historic window to purchase for this area of the city.
Description of Work: Installed 5 restoration windows. I contacted Hurd Window Corporation via email in January of 2013. Rick Seidman of Raspbery Construction contacted me on behalf of my request to Hurd. I decided to go directly to the company in order to get the job done correctly. Raspberry Construction – Rick – examined the bathroom window and agreed that they (Raspberry & Hurd) could easily make the window and it would match. This window will be the model for the project. He was concerned with the construction of the window and wanted to be sure that the bathroom window was aluminum clad on the outside and painted wood on the inside. The divided lights and the lower sash were easily visible as well as the fact that the lower rail was only about 1/4 inch above window sill. The lower sash had an approx. 3 inch lower rail. Royce from Raspberry came out and inspected the bathroom window and measured the opening for the replacement windows. It was agreed that they would save the sash pulls from the old windows for reinstallation on the replacement windows. This wasn’t done – save two - but – the others were lost During the original installation it was learned that the windows which Raspberry had ordered were misplaced by the distributor and finally found. I thought I was working directly with Hurd and found out later he was misrepresenting himself. During the installation the front bedroom windows were found to be the incorrect size and the opening had to be restructured. The installation was completed and the windows appeared to be correct. Raspberry was paid for the work It was late that afternoon that I discovered that the lower sash was incorrect and the windows had a very visible 1 ½ inch “lip” which was not on the installed bathroom window, which also a Hurd window and custom made for that window. It had been perfectly made and installed with no problems within a short period of time when I was having extensive restoration done in the house. The windows, as installed, did not match the existing bathroom window. Raspberry agreed that the windows would match the existing bathroom window. Bottom line – the wrong windows were installed and installed incorrectly Second order Raspberry Construction agreed the installed windows were incorrect and a new order was placed with Hurd for the correct window. Raspberry refused to discuss the possibility of and compensation for the error and the time lost due to the error. He kept stating it was not his fault and he would take care of it. He blamed it on a distributor I did not know existed. During this process the distributor (Complete Windows and Doors, John Williams) had lost his license to carry Hurd windows due to poor customer service. The distributor came out once and told me Raspberry was reputable and then would never return my phone calls. A copy of the order and the window dimensions was received. He sent a draft drawing however no pictures of the product as requested. Delivery was promised August 18. Prior to this I had called Rick and asked for more information. I also told him I had someone working for me on my behalf since it had been such a long process and he had my money. He stated “Bring them on!”. I had been working with Angie’s List. He did keep saying it was not his fault. However, I always informed him he was responsible. During this time, he had said he would keep me informed every step of the way. I rarely heard from him unless I called or emailed. Windows arrived – according to Raspberry – on August 27. Royce from Raspberry sent a picture of the window on August 28. Agreed to have them installed on Friday, August 29. Seemed the only time they would have available – either Thursday or Friday – Aug 28 or 29 respectively. Was informed that the install was scheduled for around 9:00 AM. Didn’t show up until after 10:00. During this time was informed that Raspberry was going to return the wrong windows to the distributor for resale. I was told by Raspberry that they had to buy two sets of windows and that was the reason they wouldn’t do anything to compensate me. Obviously both the order acknowledgement and the resale to the distributor negate this argument. The single window frame was broken during the removal stage. The correct windows were installed - again incorrectly. Very visible lip on the installed widow not present on the original bathroom window which was to be the model for the project. Hired another contractor to correct the “lip” problem. Bottom line – even though the correct windows were installed, they were installed incorrectly. Raspberry was given every opportunity to correct the previous mistakes on the install and didn’t take advantage of them. Had to go to an outside agency to get the windows to look like the original bathroom window as I did not want to continually go through their “errors” in order to get the job done correctly. We are now in the 9th month of original contact. I took the information from the window – yellow sticker – about the correct touch up paint to Sherwin Williams. They told me that the information on the window sticker was old and there was a new number for the paint in Sherwin Williams’ catalog. I bought a gallon of the paint which should match the yellow sticker formulation. Also, the Sherwin Williams store didn’t seem to be aware that there was a specific color of putty that was to be used on the window as indicated on the sticker. I don’t know if the Sherwin Williams’ store was in error or if Hurd made the mistake. Despite the error, we had to rematch. This only happened a week ago. Received an email from Raspberry I had written to the person (a Hurd person) who never answered me. He sent the email to Raspberry instead. Raspberry disagreed with what had happened. Larry DePersia contacted Raspberrry/Hurd regarding the lip problem. He replied that it was not there policy to do this, even though he had come out originally, his foreman had come out originally, and the distributer had come out. Both Raspberry/Hurd and Royce said they could do the work and make it look exactly like another window I had. It was the same window and buried within the casing. They even took pictures. Now they say it is not there policy to do that even though he said he could make it look like the other window originally. I would have made other plans if I would have know this. Throughout this process, Raspberr y as never contacted me to find out if I was happy with my windows are not. I am also concerned that he works with CICOA on behalf of Senior Citizens, as well as with insurance claims. He also states on his websites he has an A plus rating with BBB I have written a letter to a Hurd representative in Ohio who has never returned my email and only sent it to Raspberry. I have discussed this with the Hurd Company at-large and they said they have never heard of him or the distributer he worked with. At at later time they did find out the dealer was no longer with them. We still do not know how Raspberry got my name in order to represent Hurd.

Response from Raspberry Building Corporation
Raspberry Building Corporation has been a licensed General Contractor since 1991. We represent many window manufacturers and install different brands. At no time do we intimate we are a manufacturer. On March 6, 2013, [member name removed] signed a contract with Raspberry to furnish and install 5 Hurd wood clad windows in existing openings. The windows were installed near the end of May 2013. A few days later [member name removed] advised the windows installed were not correct (they did not match the existing bathroom window), I got with my supplier and attempted to find out what went wrong. Apparently, Hurd has 2 different style windows available with simulated divided lites. Unfortunately the wrong model somehow got ordered. Many discussions later (with[member name removed] & the supplier), I was able to reorder new windows. The new set of windows came in in late August for installation and were installed. [member name removed] has acknowledged the new windows are the correct windows & they were installed correctly. The windows were to be installed 'in the existing opening' and were. Apparently [member name removed] is confusing the interior trim on the bathroom remodel & has nothing to do with the window (it is purely cosmetic). Raspberry installed the window correctly using the existing trim (Raspberry was not replacing the interior trim unless it was rotted). It is unfortunate the first set of windows were incorrect. Raspberry made it right & installed the correct windows & fulfilled its obligation under the contract. Th contract states 'Raspberry Building Corporation shall not be liable for delays or damages occasioned by strikes, war, riot, act of God, material shortages or any other conditions unavoidable and beyond its control'.

We had a leak in the roof, ruining the ceiling in the kitchen. They delayed coming out for so long and when they did come out to look at it, they never came back. We called multiple times and had the same response every time. The gutters we hooked onto the house in the wrong place, thus causing them to sag after some time. We have called multiple times about this - same response. They sent someone out, then promised to have someone come back out to fix it, and no one came back. After a while, they claimed we had waited too long. We finally had Bone Dry Roofing come out to fix it. On a better note - Bone Dry Roofing repaired the problem at a very good price. They were punctual, worked relentlessly until they found the leak, and repaired it immediately!

The job (removed member name) refers to was completed in 2006, we received a call from (removed member name) about a problem in February 2013 (the roof was out of warranty (6 years after completion). Crew chief was notified to go take a look at the problem, (removed member name) gave us a number to call (she advised call after 11AM), several calls were made & messages left to set an appointment to look at what needed to be repaired, did not receive a call back from (removed member name). The only response was this information on Angies' list. We did not give (removed member name) a price for repairs (we were unable to look at to give a price). I would have appreciated a call back from (removed member name) before a repair (by others) was made.

[member name removed] had storm damage to his home, he had the insurance adjuster information (a detailed list of repairs to be done). We gave [member name removed] our information to repair his home (pricing/materials, etc.) to repair the damages. [member name removed] felt it was not detailed enough for him & would not use our company. We apologized at the time & asked to resubmit with more details, he declined. We have worked with many insurance companies & homeowners with storm damage in the past & have always repaired homes to original specifications. We thank [member name removed] for his feedback & will strive to give more detailed information in the future.

Overall, the experience was great. They were prompt to show up to provide an estimate and nearly completed the job when they predicted they would (the only thing that slowed them down was the weather). It was tough to find a contractor that was willing to do or coordinate everything required to install abasement egress window into a location where one didn't exist - excavating the hole for the window well, cutting through the concrete, installing the window and well, and finishing out the interior of room where the window was installed (trimming out the window, moving electrical outlets, repairing drywall, and painting the room). The guys at Raspberry did most of the work themselves (save the concrete cutting) and really did an excellent job.

Again I want to be clear I did not have any work done by this contractor. He came and gave me an estimate. The way in which Rick presented himself was in my opinion was less than professional. He failed to listen to his customer and provide what I wanted. He showed me inferior products than the standard that I told him I wanted. Rick didn't build any confidence in me that he or his company would do an outstanding job.
Description of Work: Rick came for an estimate for enclosing a screened in porch to make it a three season room. We set an appointment which he was on time for. He was some what disheveled and a very old and beyond worn out briefcase that he carried. I explained the scope of the project, he took measurements and made recommendations based on what he thought I should spend. However he would not work up a quote during our meeting. He said he would go back to his office work it up and email it to me the next day. I was not impressed with the products that Rick had showed me, nor was I comfortable with Rick. He did email me the quote the next day, and it was less than half of the amount I ended up spending with another contractor, whom I have great confidence in and in his product.

Raspberry bid to install 2 ADA (American for Disability Act) toilets to his home & was awarded the work. Before the toilets were installed Member went out shoppping for toilets & picked out the toilets he wanted Raspberry to install (he felt we could install the upgraded toilets for him & 'still make money'). Unfortunately Raspberrys' bid was to install ADA Approved toilets & not upgraded models Member wanted (he was not going to pay anything beyond what medicaid was going to pay). Raspberry installed exactly what it was approved for & bid the job for. The care manager agreed Raspberry fulfilled it's contract & Raspberry was Paid by Medicaid for the job.

No services were performed. This company does not sell the product I want. DONT KEEP CALLING ME!!!!!!
Description of Work: I was looking for wood clad windows. I called the Raspberry Building Company. They told me they do not sell wood clad windows. That should have been the end of the story....but a couple of weeks go by and they call me again.....I explain I am looking for woodclad windows. The guy said I should talk to the owner. I thought great maybe they know how to get what I am looking for. When I am connected to the owner. He goes all into this song and dance about how wood clad windows are bad and I should buy some manufactured window. WELL since it is my money being spent....I should spend it on what I want. He is calling me while I am at work. If I have told you once, I should not have to repeat myself. I am so frustrated I hang up the phone. That was in October. It is now January they are calling again.....They know they do not have what I want and they are harrassing me now. DON'T KEEP CALLING ME!!!!!!

I believe [the member] has Raspberry mixed up with another company. Raspberry Does Install wood/wood clad windows. Raspberry had an appointment with [the member] in October to see what she needed, [the member] did not show for the appointment (noone home). Raspberry attempted to recontact to reset appointment & did not receive a response (no discussion with [the member] since appointment was made). Our office tried to contact her yesterday to see what her plans were. Again, a message was left (she went to Angies List & ServiceMagic to contact us about not contacting her again). Raspberry was attempting to help [the member] with her problem. Please advise [the member] to contact us if she wants help, otherwise we have removed her from our list.

They were the only firm I found that was willing to do repairs to the tile roof, rather than completely replace it. They were reasonably prompt in beginning work after accepting the job and they completed it in approximately 10 days. Raspberry builders charged me exactly what they had initially estimated, with a small addition after I accepted their proposal to paint the stucco walls on the dormer, as well as the wooodwork. The quality of their work appears good and they made minimum of mess that was adequately cleared up on finishing.
Description of Work: Raspberry builders replaced several tiles on my clay-tile roof, replaced a flat roof on a dormer window and repaired and repainted all of the facia boards and soffits.
