I called May 11 or 12, 2018 to ask them to put me on the schedule to hang my awnings that they store at their company. I sent a text to Tonya May 14 to make sure they had my request. She replied "yes, I did". 3 1/2 weeks later on June 6, I sent a text to get a date for hanging, and no response. Another sent June 8 and no response. Soon after that I called and spoke to Tonya. She said they were busy and not enough employees, but it would be done, even if she had to hang them. On June 27, I sent a text saying "I hope the awning will be put up by the end of the month. Otherwise I don't feel I should have to pay full price when a 1/3 of the summer has passed." The awnings were hung the next day (one incorrectly). Two days later I received the bill and a letter notifying me that they can no longer provide service for me.
Description of Work: Hanging three awnings on my house.

Poor quality and service. Would stay away from this company.
Description of Work: Awnings were to be replaced including the drawstrings. A 50% deposit was to be charged to a credit card with the remainder when the awnings were installed. The full amount was charged to the credit card. The awnings were installed without replacing the ten-year old drawstrings (which were dirty and shortened after years of use). The awnings pulled and the edges of the frame causing stress at the seams. The scalloped edges on the awnings were reduced to four instead of six. The awnings were installed while I was away, despite a request to call me before installation to make sure I was available. Phone calls and voice message went unanswered. Bad news. Bad company. Thieves.

I completely agree with the other comments. This company is HORRIBLE to deal with. I will never work with them again. I originally had the awning installed in 2007 and had some trouble with them early on that was eventually resolved. After the ice storm in January 2011, I contacted them again because the frame and fabric were damaged from the ice. They were supposed to call me so I could meet them at home to discuss the damage and they were to provide an estimate for repair/replacement. They never called me, so without anyone being present at my home, they climbed onto my awning and pulled huge chunks of ice off of the awning and dropped it onto my landscaping - several very expensive shrubs and trees were damaged. I had not asked them to remove the ice - only to give me an estimate for repair. I am now working with another company to have the awning fixed. Stay away!!!
Description of Work: They originally installed a 10x12 awning over my front porch in Spring 2008. They were to return in January 2011 to a**** damage and provide an estimate for repair after the ice storm that month.

I was not contacted and the awnings were installed without my being home. Following installation, I spoke twice with Tonya requesting that Kevin call me. I left one message on the answering machine. No refund was given toward the purchase and phone calls were not returned. Quality Concepts has violated their own contract by charging the customer the full amount rather than the "required 50% down-payment" as stated in their own contract leaving no recourse for customers.
Description of Work: Kevin Drake with Quality Concepts Awnings & Signs was to remake seven retractable ten-year-old awnings including replacing broken hardware and all strings. My credit card was charged the full amount, even though the contract and payment terms "required 50% down payment." I telephoned Quality Concepts and spoke with receptionist Tonya who said that it is not uncommon for Quality Concepts to charge the full amount. Having little recourse after this, I requested that I be notified of the date when the awnings were installed as I planned to be at home. Some of the ten-year-old strings are too short to reach from the first floor without using a ladder. The second floor awnings are not reachable. The awnings cannot be opened or closed. Some of the awnings do not fit against the house by several inches and appear to have been cut improperly skimping on fabric and fit too tightly so the awnings will not retract without breaking the seams. One awning has three scallops instead of four.

At the time we placed our order we were told it would take 3 weeks to install our awning. In the first week of May, 4 weeks after the order was placed, I called to see where our awning was and was told that due to a bad shipment of support bars all orders were delayed. I know that there are times when issues like this come up and can deal with this type of issue when a company is up front and proactive in keeping in touch with customers to aprise them of the status. The responsibility of the company should have been to contact me to let me know of the delay and not wait until I called after our promised installation date. On May 13th (three weeks after the installation date and now six weeks into the order) the company sent a letter explaining the support bar problem and asked for their customers patience. It is now June 23rd and I still have no awning and no installation date nor has the company made any attempt to contact me to let me know the status of our order. My husband called them again this morning and left a message. While I was writing this my husband called and said he received a phone call back. Our awning is scheduled to be installed on the afternoon of July 8th. Twelve weeks instead of three but at least a date but that date was obtained only by calling the company and not by them contacting us. We'll see what happens on the 8th.
Description of Work: On April 3rd of 2008 we placed an order for a retractable awning and paid the required deposit of half the purchase price. The awning was a cover for our back deck.

This is a very nice quality awning and the company is very professional and do great work. This work was done a few years ago and the awning is a very large. It is 27ft wide by 12ft projection retractable with motor. They are family owned and operated and I like to support small businesses.

It is now Sept 19th and they haven't come to perform the work. I have called them six times. They keep saying they will be out but they have yet to show. They actually showed up the day I left the report on the 19th. They were very pleasant to deal with when they finally showed up

They were supposed to be at my residence at 9 a.m. to take down the awning. I called them at 9 because they never showed up the receptionist that answered said that she didn't know why they weren't there yet. Called a second time around 11 am and spoke to a different receptionist that told me the reason they weren't there was because they didn't get the job done yesterday and they were still there finishing up that job. I called them back and told them to not show up because I had the other service provider do the job.

THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS UNIT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED FOR REPAIRS/DAMAGES ON THEIR HOME. THE MEMBER DID NOT INDICATE THAT IT WAS NECESSARY THAT WE BE THERE AT A CERTAIN TIME OF DAY, ONLY THAT WE NEEDED TO HAVE IT TAKEN DOWN ON THIS DAY SO THAT THE CONTRACTOR COULD PROVIDE REPAIRS TO THEIR SOFFITT. IF THERE HAD BEEN A SPECIFIC TIME OF DAY MENTIONED AT THE TIME SHE REQUESTED SERVICE WE WOULD HAVE CALLED HER THE DAY BEFORE AND EXPLAINED THE DELAY OR WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TO REMOVE THE AWNING PRIOR TO FINISHING THE PREVIOUS DAYS WORK.

My first visit to the showroom/shop was an information/scouting visit. I was told by the sales person there would be a four week wait for the manufacture and installation of the awning. A bit long, I thought, considering no one was working on anything. A few days later I went back to the store to select fabric color and place the order. To place an order, one is required to make a down payment of 50%. A bit excessive. I placed the order anyway. Then I waited. Four weeks, Five, Six. During this time several calls were made. Just to see how things were going, you see! On the seventh week I picked up the awning for a self install and breathed a sigh of releif. Product in hand. At delivery I found the store/shop to be a beehive of activity, awnings and parts of awnings everywhere. They were very busy, so I forgave their tardiness. I will admit I was concerned for several weeks that I made a mistake in choosing Quallity Concepts. But all is well for now.
