Scott was very thorough and excellent to work with.

We met with Scott and his Realtor regarding a home we saw on Zillow. Scott was in process of building this home. During early discussions, my husband and I really wanted a 4 bedroom home, rather than the current 3 bedroom on blueprints. We asked if some of the storage space could be made into a guest room. Scott made it happen. He also changed the half bath in the basement into a full bath by adding a tub/shower. From the very beginning we knew what we were getting into. Scott is very detailed about his work and does his homework. He's developed very good relationships with other vendors/contractors around the city (and outside) in which they trust him and he's able to get the best deals for his homes. My husband and I knew where we needed to go when it came to tile, carpet, granite, hardwood flooring, bath fixtures, you name it. He had an allowance already outlined for us, so we knew how much we'd be able to budget ahead of time. If there was an issue with a vendor, Scott wanted to take care of it and not put us in an odd position. I had my heart set on a certain color of siding. Late into the project, we learned it might not be able to happen. With some research, I found something online and called Scott about it. He was able to meet me at the vendor's store within 15 minutes to figure out the issue. He understood my frustration and desire of wanting this color since it's exterior of our home! We were able to work it out and get the siding we wanted. It might have been a small detail for Scott, but much appreciated on our end. The entire building process was very fun! Scott is very easy to get along with and very approachable. I want to add that our closing process was very difficult, only at the fault of our lender. We planned to move boxes into our home after the closing, but it was pushed back 11 days. Scott allowed us to move boxes/property into our home regardless (without it technically being our home). We were showing our rental home that weekend, so it was very nice to get it ready for potential tenants. He didn't have to do that. Scott finds a way. We would absolutely recommend Pillar Homes to friends and family and have already done so. We already plan to rehire him to build our wet bar in the basement!

We built a new home on a vacant lot and working with Scott Schrader was a complete pleasure, throughout the entire process. We started by making a wish list for our home and Scott worked very hard to give us what we wanted within budget. The house was built while we were living out of state so all of our communication of via email and telephone. We spoke almost every day. He kept us up to date on all the happenings and even sent pictures as work was completed. Scott was always available to talk; I almost never had to leave him a voice mail. Not only that, but he was always happy to talk and never acted like I was a nuisance. The house was built and completed on time. Even 7 months later, I can still text him and he will make himself available. He definitely went above and beyond and I would not hesitate to recommend him. Building a new home is overwhelming and we were very lucky to have worked with a professional like Scott. Bonus: he is also a really nice guy and we enjoyed the entire 8 months working together!

I am immensely lucky to have found Scott and his company(Pillar Homes). I was in the market for a new home due to an upcoming job relocation. I had lived in Indianapolis before and knew the location where I wanted to live. With my Realtor I had toured one of Scott's most recent projects and had certain things I would have modified if it were up to me. At this time with a few inquiries my real estate agent found out that he had a new project coming along in a similar area. Well after a few preliminary meetings getting to know Scott and what he was looking to do, I was in. I was of course terrified since I would be five states away building a house. I heard nightmare stories from my friends about needing to stay on my builder/contractor--but how was I to do that from out of town? Well I enlisted an army of friends and future colleagues to assist, but in the end it wasn't needed. I talked directly to Scott every few weeks and he sent me pictures of the progress. An error did occur in the build and was caught by photo. I brought it up to Scott and he immediately corrected it. There was no haggling on pricing, he did what he said he would do for the price agreed to. I would 100% recommend Scott Schrader to any friends and family due to the immense satisfaction I have in my home and the process that entailed from beginning to end. It is impossible to get better than an A+ rating but for me Scott would be the exception.

See above, But we found an empty lot. Contacted Scott and discussed what was important to us in our new home. He listened, kept talking with us and then came up with a blue print. We met and slightly tweaked the print. From there it was easy breezy. Scott takes care of all permits, details, etc. It can be overwhelming to build, but he walked us through each step. We were told before this process that and quot;you won't like your builder by the time you are doneand quot;. Couldn't be farther from the truth! I actually liked the building process.

We initially got an estimate from two different contractors. Pillar Homes came in at the most reasonable and realistic for what we were trying to get done. Scott Schrader was very meticulous and personable. He was involved at every level, with planning, securing vendors and installation. We were very pleased with the efficiency and smoothness in which our whole home was transformed. All of the sub contractors were very pleasant and dilligent. If we had questions or concerns, Scott addressed them immediately. We appreciated Scott's no nonsense style and honestly when proceeding with each new step. He was experienced and realistic about what will work and be useful when remodeling. He was very specific when giving his bid. We got exactly what we wanted and couldn't be happier with the final product. Scott has followed up on several items after then job has been done, even coming out and helping my husband get the attic secured and hanging some pictures. He takes full responsibility for the whole job at every level. We would definately use Pillar Homes again and will refer him to anybody in need of a great remodeling experience.

Project went smoothly. Scott works with sub's who perform detail work and are very trustworthy and friendly. Scott is professional, prompt, and persistent in his work. He takes care of the project as if it were his own home. Initial challenges with zoning variance approvals and Scott was diligent in seeing that it moved along quickly. The finished product is a beautiful, quality, significant improvement to the home.

They did the work very well and it was for a good price. The owner was very good at communicating with us and getting us what we wanted and we would use them again in the future.

We were thrilled. Scott and his team were completely professional, efficient, courteous and competent. As mentioned above, we lived in the house the entire time. Even though there were numerous people in the house every day, they never left a mess. They were clean and courteous.
