These guys are really great. They were recommended by Angie's List and now I can see why. Hey, I have the best looking driveway in mhy neighborhood now! Their prices are much lower than other quotes I received and their work is truly impressive. They have very expensive and heavy modern equipment, which allows them to provide much better professional services than some of the fly-by-night operators in the area. Also their workers are very professional, nicely groomed, and obviously know what they are doing. No kidding, my driveway is now the talk of the neighborhood and everybody wants to know who I hired to do this job. My driveway was huge with a great deal of surface area. It was in terrible shape and this company made my driveway a showplace for the neighborhood. This company did not try to sell me more than I needed, but felt that I could get by with 2 inches of new asphalt as opposed to tearing the entire drive up and starting over. The result was that I got by with only $5000 as opposed to $10,000 for a tear down. Their price (even for not tearing the old drive down) beat all of the competition by more than 30% and their finisthed product is really superior to all of the others pavers that have worked in the neighborhood. Don't go to anyone else by Phillip's Paving if you have to have an asphalt drive repaired. They are honest, very professional, and know what they are doing. We are 100% satisfied.

Joe Phillips crew came out on time to tear up our existing driveway, got all the prep done quickly and came out the next day to lay new asphalt. They did a super job and I would use them again. I was a little unhappy about one section of the edge not being straight, so I called Joe, and he came out himself and re-did the edge for us. Its looks fantastic and Joe is one fantastic guy. All my neighbors wanted to know who did such a super driveway renovation! Use this company, they had the best pricing of all our quotes and the best service.

Very well ... both teams were efficient and thorough in their work as well as congenial with me as I watched everything they did.

They couldn't get us on the schedule until next month, so we decided to go with Angie's list company.

It went perfectly. Both crews that came out were very professional and cleaned up so well that you would have never known they were here. Steve who gave me the estimate and went over the details knows the business well, and is very knowledgeable. One thing I'd advise other members of doing is to check to see if there is a permit charge for this type of work. There was for me, and it had to be added on top of the quoted price, which is fine but I would've liked to know that upfront. But, they were absolutely amazing overall and were always at my house at the time they said they'd be. I'd highly recommend their services!

They provided a wonderful experience. They quickly provided a quottion after our request wich was very competatie with others we obtained. Then, despite a two month delay which extended well beyond the 30 day period for which the quote was valid, they honored the quotation and began the work promtly. The entire crew was professional and polite (for exampe, they needed to park their vehicls near a neighbors and sought out the neighbors permisson before doing so), they communicated well and did a supberb job. They were careful around our plantings near the driveway and the drive looks wonderful. They day after they finished it rained and there was only a single puddle on the entire 1/4 mile of driveway. We will certainly use Phillips again and would recommend them highly.

I liked them. I thought they were fine. I have no complaints about them. I called them. They made an appointment. They kept the appointment. They came and I watched them while they sealcoated a driveway that I'd had put in. They seem to do an adequate job. I'm satisfied with their work. It seems like a lot of money but products are high now. I talked it over with my daughter and we decided to go with them because when we looked them up on Angie's List they had a good rating. That's why I used them. I thought they were very careful. They came to talk to me about things. I liked them. They were prompt. They were very cooperative. They came when they said they would.

The whole process went very well. The workmen went above and beyond to do a good job. The result exceeded my expectation.

Excellent service in all respects. Almost all of my contact was with the owner, Joe Philllips, and he was always easily accessible, responsive and helpful. He returned all of my phone calls quickly and even after hours. He was true to his word in all aspects - when he said he would show up at a ceratin time he did, and out of all the contractors I talked to in gathering estimates he was easily the most professional and responsive. I would recommend him without hesitation to any one looking for quality work. Also, he is a class guy and obviously takes his work seriously.

I have not decided which company I will go with as I'm still having estimates done.

Phillips paving was completing work on my neighbors house due to some sewage work he had done and I asked them to give me a bid to install a new asphalt driveway. Joe was great and talked me through the measurements and what would be required to do the work. He then gave me a bid and his card and let me know to get in touch with him and we could get something setup. As it was early in April it wasn't quite warm enough to do the work so he said he'd be in touch sometime in late April/early May. True to his word Joe called at the end of April to setup the paving appointment with my neighbor and myself. Everything went great, the crew was professional, cleaned up after themselve, and did a great job. Before they laid any asphalt they discussed it with me and made changes that I asked them to make on how they were planning to pour it and where. Jeff and crew did a great job and I would definitely use them again. When they were prepping the driveway I asked them if they could pour some of the old gravel inside my garage to raise the base floor level because the driveway was going to be taller. I told them to just put a couple of scoops out of the loader in there and I'd take care of it. Much to my surprise when I went out to do the worker a few hours after they left they had scooped the rock in and spread it out for me. Way to go above and beyond!

Our driveway was obviously old, cracked, and worn from years of use. A cracked concrete sidewalk was parallel to it as well which needed to be replaced. Also, a flowerbed off the driveway next to the house had developed some holes due to chipmunks burrowing underneath. I called around and was impressed with Phillips - Joe arrived on time to do the estimate, which was provided immediately. He was easy to get in touch with and very friendly. When I wanted the sidewalk work added to the list, he was able to do so no problem. Also, he had just finished a driveway down the street, which I looked at and was very impressed with. The first day they removed the dirt from our flowerbed, ground the old driveway, and tore out the old sidewalk, replacing it with a gravel foundation for new asphalt. They also dug up the area under the flowerbed, then refilled it and packed it down to ensure all chipmunk tunnels were gone. On the second day they did the paving itself. They arrived on time and worked quickly. Joe's brother was in charge so I was able to direct him where the water curbs should go - I wanted to funnel water down the driveway, and away from the house. The end result was impressive - very smooth and even, and everything matches up well with the garage, house, and other sidewalk areas. There's a minor low area near a back door which has a small puddle, but due to a basement window nearby, I don't think this was avoidable. There are two small areas where the water curb could be extended, which I might have them finish when I have them come seal up the driveway. This was my fault for not noticing it before they left. So far it's still in perfect shape with no cracks.

Once we "got past" their salesman, Steve, things went great! But I had to call the office directly vs. calling Steve because he was not returning calls or didn't know the answers to our questions and was getting us confused w/other clients. I dealt directly w/the owners of the company and once we got to that point, as I said, things went GREAT! The responsiveness and professonalism at that point is what earned them the A; otherwise, it would have been like a C or D for both of those categories (due to Steve). They even "worked us into their schedule" because they knew we were planning a wedding and needed the work done ASAP (and even though the weather did not cooperate w/their first attempts, they got it done once the weather broke and it looks great!!) My only advice would be to know that salesmen don't always reflect ownership views/opinions/work ethic, and that can be good or bad. If you find a "bad" salesman, report him to the "boss", otherwise, how will they know that he's making them look bad!?!

Mr. Phillips was very knowlegeable, professional and courteous. He gave me alot of information about my options. I wasn't home the day that they coated my driveway, but they used a weedeater along the edges and cleaned it off prior to coating. It looks great. I would use them again.

We are very satisfied with the work he did and the efficient way he his company did the work. We would use him again and would recommend him to others.

I called for a quote and promptly received the quote. I scheduled the work to be done. The first time I had it scheduled it rained, they called and rescheduled that day. On the day they were to come they were there on time. They edged the driveway, blew it off and sealed up the cracks before sealing the entire driveway. They put up the barricades at the end of the driveway to keep people from driving on it. It was a very professional looking job, I was extremely happy with the results.

An estimate was given for both a milling and resurfacing of the old asphalt or a complete driveway replacement. We chose to replace our driveway due to areas where it had some major cracks and depressions. We did not believe the lower estimate for the resurfacing was a good choice in our case. The estimate was provided by Mr. Philips on August 10. We faxed our request to be put on the job list on August 27. Their schedule allowed for our driveway work to begin on September 20th with the tear out, and with the new asphalt to be poured the next day on the 21st to complete the job. The employees were all very professional and did a great job. We are very happy with the results and would recommend them highly to others considering their work.

Called Phillips Paving on Sept 4, 2012 and asked if I could get a quote for repairing and sealcoating my asphalt driveway. Phillips receptionist took my information and called me back later to verify my phone number. Received a phone call from a gentleman named Steve about 7 P.M. on September 10th. I explained to Steve what I needed a quote on, which was some patching and repair and also that I wanted it sealed. Steve told me that he was not sure that Phillips Paving traveled that far away for jobs, and that he would "check with his boss and call me back". It is now Friday Sept 14th, and I have not heard back from anyone. The Angies list website listing clearly states that Phillips Paving does go to Morgan county to work, as a matter of fact they also state that they do not charge for travel. Apparently Phillips does not need the work, or Steve does not understand the coverage area of the company he represents. Either way, if this lack of interest/response is indicative of the way Phillips Paving runs thier business then I don't think that I trust that they would keep thier commitment.

Here's what I like about Phillips Paving - everything! They were the first with an estimate (brother Joe). They gave us 2 options (other companies gave us only most expensive one - dig it all up and start over). They very clearly indicated the full estimate and then after the Angie's List discount (Many contractors don't break it out so you never know if you've gotten a discount). They expressed confidence in both options (we took the lower priced one). They called to schedule. They arrived on time, with a great crew and tons of equipment (brother Joe). The crew members were all very personable and courteous. They prepared the driveway and then the 2nd crew came in with the asphalt (brother Jeff). The whole job took about 4-5 hours. They cleaned up. They tested the pavement for water backup. We had a significant rain and there are no standing puddles!!!!The driveway looks awesome. I would highly recommend them.

Mr. Phillips came out and gave me detailed estimates for each possibility. He was very clear and very professional as to the pros and cons of each approach. I decided to have him simply reseal the driveway. The work was promptly scheduled and done at the appointed time. No problems, no issues. It was a pleasure working with them and I would, and will, hire them in a minute the next time I have asphalt needs.

The company had previously paved a long (~1000 ft) lane for us leading from the public road and several years later sealcoated the lane. So we contracted with the company for a third time since they did such excellent work previously. Again the preparation work, clean-up and finished product were excellent. Mr. Phillips is very responsive, communicates well and is a real pleasure to work with.

They were very professional and I knew that they knew what they were doing. The driveway looks wonderful. They did a great job! They were on time and efficient with their work.

Installation had to be delayed several days due to weather, but that was not a problem for me. I was called each day with information about scheduling. The crew showed up on time, worked very efficiently, and were done in less than a day. I am very satisfied with the appearance of the new driveway.

My driveway was scheduled to be sealcoated on 10/11/2011 around "midday" so I expected them to arrive about 12 Noon. However, they still had not arrived at 3 P.M. so I called their office again to inquire about the delay. I was told that the last large job was taking extra time because of the leaves. I was assured that they would get my driveway done today. Sure enough they arrived at 4:50 P.M. and went right to work. I am quite satisfied with the end result and will undoubtedly use them again. I normally sealcoat the driveway every two years so I anticipate doing it again in 2013.
