PC Computer Guy

I have a computer problem that prevented me from uploading some additional software that was quite obscure and difficult to repair. The problem was in the operating system, which is Windows 7. Nick spent many hours working on this and finally arrived a solution that worked perfectly. I was able to load the new software and it is working very well, furthermore my computer seems to be faster since the repairs. I know for a fact that Nick spent a lot of time on this problem that he didn't bill me for. I will definitely be calling PC Computer Guy for any future computer problems. Nick is personable, polite, prompt, fair and definitely knows his stuff. You don't have to look any further, this is your guy.

Nick Ellis is great! We had previously used him last spring to help transfer all our files and set up everything on our new laptop. He does great work, and is also very friendly. Most recently, I ran into issues backing up my computer. I emailed Nick last week and he got right back to me, indicated that he could address the problem remotely, and offered to fit me in right away. It got late in the day, and I didn't email Nick back with the information he needed until the evening. I didn't expect an response until the next day, but that evening at about 10 pm he got back to me and went ahead and remotely fixed the issue that night! The experience was so seamless and smooth, and Nick's customer service is fantastic! I highly recommend him and will use him for any computer needs we have!

He came out to my house to work on both my PC and laptop. He fixed all the problems and gave me excellent feedback and explanations.

My son's laptop crashed just before Christmas and I knew the big box store wouldn't be able to fix it for weeks. I checked Angies List and "interviewed" 3 providers. I chose Nick because he spent time discussing options and issues with me, his prices are better than the other two I contacted, he is nearby, and he offers an Angies' List coupon for first-timers. He took my son's laptop the same day (a Friday) and returned it on Sunday, even though he normally doesn't work Sundays. I was impressed by his knowledge, promptness, and professionalism. I would definitely go back to Nick; in fact I already have. We discussed getting a replacement keyboard for my husband's laptop. The keyboard works but the letters are worn off. Nick suggested I simply replace the letters. He didn't charge me for this advice, though I expected him to. And finally, Nick performed a remote access tune up on my desktop computer which was becoming so slow I thought I was going to have to replace it. I watched as he diagnosed the problem and completed the fix. Afterwards, he spent time discussing what he had done and how to use the new, more robust backup software he had installed. He's good and now he's my computer guy.

Nick is amazing: he has saved us from serious problems at least three times over the years. In this case, a hard drive failed with a ton of stored family photos, etc. He diagnosed the problem, salvaged the data, and reloaded it all on a new drive.

Excellent. Nick arrived early and addressed all my issues regarding my computer, printer, internet service and my new Ipad. I had called Nick before with other computer issues as he is a trusted source and a man of high integrity, therefore I trust him in working with my computer. I am retired and lack the computer skills and many issues are simply a lack of knowledge on my part. I found Nick to be patient and an excellent teacher with knowledge to share. He also shares his website videos for future follow-up. Former calls were however related to virus and non-functioning computers which he fixed in a flash and recommended the needed security.

Went above and beyond in explaining and demonstrating the nuances of the new OS. Be sure to friend him on FB; has great training and industry updates. He is one of the good guys.

Though I have been using a Mac computer for a couple of years, I was still running a critical (to me) program on my elderly PC because the Mac version of this program lacked features that were important to me. When he had earlier repaired the PC, Nick pointed out that it would not last forever and Windows could be installed on the Mac and would be faster and more convenient for me to use. Nick quoted a price and we arranged a date and time to do the job. He arrived on schedule, did the job in about 2 hours. The program has been running very nicely ever since. One small glitch was discovered later, probably arising from my using an old keyboard and Nick, by e-mail, suggested a fix that solved the problem.

Nick was responsive, as always, to my request for help, and was able to come out within 48 hrs. As always, he was on time and worked quickly and effectively to identify and fix the problems and take care of the Roku task in under an hour. He willingly answered my questions and provided usage tips, and as always, was pleasant, respectful, and professional. As a long time client, I can say that I have always been more than satisfied with Nick's service. There have been several times he's been able to fix computer problems remotely, saving me the $20 trip cost, which I appreciate. He's added memory to my pc a couple of times over the years, extending the life of my computer. He carries hardware accessories with him (cables, routers, etc) so can fix anything in one visit. Nick is consistently highly professional, pleasant, calm, and efficient. I don't think there is any electronic problem he can't fix; his knowledge is absolutely amazing. In me, he has a customer for life.

I then took it to Mike's in Clermont for a second opinion - He also thought motherboard, but offered to check replacement parts cost and generally treated me better - plus only charged me $20 - I would give him the nod over PC Computer Guy the next time I have computer issues.

Nick spent 4 hours with us. He was extremely patient and congenially answered all our questions, even after 4 hrs. He taught us how to use the new computers and set up Windows 8 so it would be more user friendly. Our computer was about 10 yrs. old and we were using Windows XP so we really needed help. We could not have asked for better service. His Blog contains invaluable information and is free.

I called with some problems I was having with my PC. They got me scheduled right away and dropped the computer off same day. He fixed the problem and it was ready in 2 days - very fair price and he does excellent work - have used him before on my laptop. Excellent experience from beginning to end.

Nick was on time, answered all our questions about the problem and solutions, and even answered lots more questions that we had. He worked a little late for us which was appreciated. We will call him again when we need help.

Nick came out to the house, looked my situation over and suggested first that I purchase a new external drive. This was something I had thought about myself so he confirmed my thoughts. Went to Best Buy and made my purchase. The next day, Nick returned and walked me through setting up the new external drive and then he walked me through the various steps to make Acronis work like its suppose to and then, he started the mirroring process. I WAS SO RELIEVED to see the new external starting a fresh backup and the internal mirroring process working as it should!! My son had originally set up my computer system, but he lives out of state and was unavailable to help me. Nick not only saved my system, he also carefully walked me through what I consider a rather confusing set of Acronis instructions and in the process, saved me from having a nervous breakdown!! Would I recommend him to anyone who needs an expert IT guy: YOU BET!

Nick responded to my call promptly and set an appointment for 1:00 - 3:00. He arrived around noon and quickly found and fixed the problem. He also checked for and installed an upgrade to my router's firmware, and made some recommendations regarding improving performance. I'm very pleased--Nick is personable and skilled, and I wouldn't hesitate to call him the next time I have computer issues.

My old PC would not turn on - possibly damaged in a power failure and restart. Nick diagnosed the problem (over the phone) as probably a defective power supply. He came out at an agreed time and found that he did not have a power supply on hand that would fit. He took the machine away and called back the same day to say that it required a proprietary (and more expensive) unit that he would have to order. When it came, in about a week, he installed it and checked it out, then brought it to the house and reconnected it to the system. Nick was at all times careful to be sure I understood what he was doing and understood the pricing.

It was fantastic. Nick came to my home and fixed several problems I was having with browsers, got my printer working again AND set it to wireless so I can print from my new iPad! In addition, he installed new memory, taught me some things I didn't know about my iMAC and my iPad, gave me some tips about operating my printer, and recommended a specific external hard drive to get for backing up stuff on the computer--all in just under one hour. Great, personable guy, works very fast, really knows what he's doing. Very reasonable price. When I called him to make an appointment, he returned my call within a couple of hours. He would have come the next day, but came on the first day I was available. I HIGHLY recommend him!!

I called at around 11 a.m. and got the provider's voicemail; however, I was pleased to hear a commitment to return my call in the same day. I left a message and Nick returned my call within the hour. I explained the situation and Nick provided a detailed response with potential costs and also provided an honest evaluation of what he thought could be accomplished. I did not feel pressured to use his services and while we have chosen not to move forward on the project, I would turn to PC Computer Guy first in the future based on Nick's honest and reasonable responses to my questions.

I highly recommend the company. The personnel is fine.

I called him one afternoon, to see about repairing what I thought was a wiring issue with my laptop. He called me back later that afternoon, and we discussed the issue. He ordered the part, and called me when it came in so I could drop off the laptop. He called me the next day to say that the display was still not working correctly, and that we would need to replace it. He ordered the new part, and made the swap. Everything is working great now. He did a great job keeping me informed on the progress of the work, and the shipping status of the parts while they were being shipped.

I contacted Nick around lunch time on his website, he promptly responded by 4:30 that afternoon. All emails and phone interactions with Nick were very professional. Nick does offer a service where he comes to you to fix your computer. However, I elected to deliver my laptop to his home that he works out of. Upon entering his neighborhood, I at first questioned leaving my computer at someone's home who I had never met before. But please know that there is absolutely no reason to not leave your computer with him. I trust the PC guy completely to keep my laptop safe! Nick was not able to meet me after work so I was greeted by his very nice girlfriend, Jewel. She took my personal info and a list of the computer problems I had been having. I was contacted later that evening with an update about my computer, which was behaving for him. He said he would continue to work on it the next day. He cleaned the fan out, and gave me some very valuable advice on how to manage my video files and screen resolution settings. It has been a couple of months and my computer has not crashed again! Nick did a great job. He was out on time within the time window he gave me. He was able to recover all of the data I needed from the hard drive of the dead computer. Took about 1.5 hours. Gave me the Angie's list discount. He moved the data to a new laptop I had purchased over the weekend. The laptop has Windows 8 - which I had not used before. Nick also gave me some Windows 8 tips and loaded an app that brings the Start Button back - yes, Windows 8 DOES NOT have the Start Button! Nick did a great job for a reasonable price. Will definitely use him again if the need arises!
