Description of Work: I had the original 2, 24 year-old , twin size wooden garage doors removed and 2 new galvanized, torsion spring, steel doors installed. The original wooden doors were rotting and deteriorating since being installed in this model home, years ago. I wanted manual doors, not electric doors. The salesman listened to my requests and did not try to over sell a more expensive product. He presented good paper literature on his product, including pictures and descriptions of various door options. In particular, I wanted to go over the grade of the doors because of Indiana winters. I looked at another company's product to compare. That presentation was definitely seller centered and so I did not go with that company. There was a clear, written estimate, with each item carefully noted (such as door size, width, height, color, spring type, and insulated value, etc.) The work was scheduled at my convenience, so I could be home. It was a nippy December day, 40 degrees. The single installer arrived 1/2 hour early which was great. He first identified himself, the company, asked if he could park in the immediate driveway. He was pleased that the garage had been completely cleared out which is part of the agreement. (Your garage becomes the workshop during the process. And the homeowner must agree to remove everything from the garage........everything.) The installer took down the 2 heavy, wood, old doors. He installed new metal garage door tracks, and the torsion springs, which is very dangerous work. He installed braces for the tracks. He assembled the garage door pieces and made sure they were firmly engaged. He tested the new doors in their tracks again and again. He rebuilt a small portion of one area of the wood trim on the garage to get a good, tight, fit between the trim and the door to prevent wind, snow, leaks, or, bees getting in. He installed the tubular weather guard at the bottom of each door to prevent rain, sleet, bugs, dust, from coming in under the doors. He was a meticulous craftsman. I was privileged to watch his workmanship. He took no short cuts. The job took from noon to 5:00pm, exactly what the estimate had said. He took no breaks what so ever even though I offered him beverages and snacks as a break time. His clean up was 100% thorough. Everything from the former doors disassembly was hauled away. He made two keys for each manual garage door. He posted the company's labels on the doors if there should ever be a problem. There is 24 hour service available. I was so pleased with the installer's dedicated workmanship, I wrote a letter to the President of the company commending this employee. Only as he was leaving, did he accept a soft drink and a box of donuts to take home to his children.
