 + -1 moreVERY POOR RESPONSIVENESS. I HAD TO CALL AND PUSH AND PROD THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. ONE MAN WAS ABLE TO ASSEMBLE THE DOOR, AND HE DID THE JOB, BUT CLEANUP WAS INFERIOR. THE DOOR HAD TO BE SPECIAL ORDERED. I WAITED A WEEK OR SO, THEN I CALLED BECAUSE I HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. THEY SAY IT WOULD TAKE THREE WEEKS. WHEN I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY NOTICE, I CALLED BACK TO FIND IT HAD ALREADY ARRIVED. IT WAS FRUSTRATING TO HAVE TO FOLLOW UP WITH THEM CONSTANTLY. THEY DIDN'T CHECK THE MECHANISM AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL, AND SEEMS TO BE A GOOD IDEA.

 + -1 moreIF YOU ARE REPLACING A GARAGE DOOR ON AN OLDER HOME (10YEARS+), KNOW WHETHER THE SURFACE IS LEVEL WHERE THE DOOR MEETS THE GROUND. IF IT IS NOT, DEPENDING ON THE DIFFERENCE, THE DOOR MAY NOT SEAL PROPERLY, EVEN IF YOUR OLD DOOR DID. ALTHOUGH THE SERVICE PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THIS, THE SALESPEOPLE DO NOT ALWAYS TELL YOU THIS.
Description of Work: REPLACED GARAGE DOOR ON A 20 YEAR OLD HOME. INSTALLATION PEOPLE VERY SKILLED. SALESMAN WAS FRIENDLY BUT WE DON''T BELIEVE WE WERE GIVEN ENOUGH INFORMATION TO MAKE THE BEST CHOICE OF DOOR. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR DIDN''T SEAL PROPERLY AT THE BOTTOM BY SEVERAL INCHES BECAUSE THE CONCRETE WAS NOT LEVEL. NOBODY CHECKED THIS BEFORE THEY SOLD US THE DOOR. WE HAD TO BE PERSISTENT AND AGGRESSIVE TO GET HELP WITH THE PROBLEM. AFTER FOUR DAYS OF NOT VERY HELPFUL CONVERSATIONS WITH PEOPLE, WE FINALLY SPOKE WITH DAN RINDLER. HE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND CONSIDERATE. HE OFFERED TO REPLACE THE SEAL WITH A COMMERCIAL GRADE SEAL AT NO COST TO US. ALTHOUGH THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT SEAL AT THE BOTTOM, IT IS MUCH CLOSER THAN IT WAS. BECAUSE WE BOUGHT THE MOST EXPENSIVE DOOR THEY HAVE IN AN EFFORT TO GET THE BEST SOUND-PROOFING AND WEATHER-PROOFING, WE ARE NOT AS HAPPY AS WE COULD BE. WE DO, HOWEVER, HAVE A QUALITY DOOR THAT IS OTHERWISE WELL INSTALLED. WE WOULD CAUTIOUSLY HIRE THEM IN THE FUTURE.

Description of Work: I CALLED THE COMPANY TO FIX A GARAGE DOOR THAT WOULD NOT OPEN PROPERLY. A TECHNICIAN FROM THE COMPANY CAME OUT TO REPLACE TWO SPRINGS WHICH I THOUGHT WERE BROKEN. THE TECHNICIAN, UPON INSPECTION, STATED THAT I DID NOT NEED THE 2 SPRINGS, BUT ALL THAT WAS NEEDED WAS SOME SILICONE/WD40 SPRAY ON THE ROLLERS, SPRINGS, WIRE AND TIGHTENING OF SOME OF THE LOOSE BOLTS. MOST RECENTLY, THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A BAD GEAR IN THE MOTOR. HE MADE THE REPAIR AND EXPLAINED WHAT HE WAS DOING AND SHOWED ME THE PARTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED.
