Description of Work: Nelson's alarm was fantastic. We called them on a Tuesday and had our alarm set up and activated on Thursday! Woody was our installer. Extremely professional and great at his job! Highly recommend using them for you security system installation.

 + -1 moreNelson's walkthrough and related proposal was all-inclusive, and recommendations were well thought through. We used Nelson Alarm in another home, and we were very satisfied. However, we ultimately used another company in order to keep all low voltage work with one vendor.

Description of Work: CHANGED AN ADT/AMERITECH SYSTEM OVER TO A SYSTEM THEY COULD MONITOR. THIS INVOLVED CHANGING THE CONTROL PANEL AND THE KEYPAD. THEY ALSO ADDED AN ADDITIONAL SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE BASEMENT. THIS PRICE WAS ASSUMING A 12/MO CONTRACT FOR MONITORING.

MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE TECHNICIAN THEY SENT DID NOT KNOW THE SYSTEM AND KEPT READING FROM THE MANUAL AND CALLING BACK TO THE OFFICE. IT TOOK A REALLY LONG TIME FOR HIM TO PROGRAM THE SYSTEM. ALSO, HE DIDN''T BRING ANY YARD SIGNS WITH HIM. THEY HAVE BEEN VERY PROMPT IN RESPONDING TO THE FALSE ALARMS. THE FEE IS VERY COMPETITIVE AND THEY OFFER MONTH-TO-MONTH MONITORING.

 + -1 moreNELSON'S REPRESENTATIVES HAVE NEVER BEEN ON TIME FOR APPOINTMENTS. WE HAVE HAD REPEATED APPOINTMENTS TO FOLLOW-UP ON ITEMS THAT WERE NOT DONE PROPERLY THE FIRST TIME. THEY HAVE NEVER RETURNED PHONE CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND SOMETIMES DO NOT RETURN THEM AT ALL. THE MOST RECENT EXCUSE I RECEIVED FOR THEIR POOR SERVICE WAS THAT THEY ARE TOO BUSY BECAUSE THEY HAVE PURCHASED OTHER COMPANIES. THEY ASKED THAT I GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE, BUT THEN NEVER RETURNED MY PHONE CALLS AFTER THAT!
