 + -1 moreOn the buying end, Mike was very patient and personally helped us to evaluate our family needs in a new property, find a home builder* and ensure the building process went smoothly (including providing ongoing home inspections). From a seller's point of view, Mike provided resources to to make sure our home was prepared to sell (e.g. provided staging services, recommended companies for minor repairs, supervised contractors during repair, etc.), and was proactive at holding showings / open houses. He definitely went above and beyond our expectations. Mike has an honesty about him that we found to be uncommon in his field, and trust him completely. This was our third home purchase and by far the best experience we've had. If we ever endeavor on this journey again, Mike will be our agent. His knowledge is well above average, his pricing is competitive and he is a very good negotiator. (*Note: Mike showed us existing homes on the West and North side of Indy for several months until we decided to build)

 + -1 moreWe hired Mike after reading his reviews on Angie?s List. At the time we were not looking to buy a house, but just wanted to look at houses. After we started looking, this quickly changed and we got the ?itch.? Mike was always accessible and willing to fit us in (often a bit spur of the moment) when we asked. When looking at homes he would let us check out the house and ask what we thought. He would not try and sway us one way or another on whether we should like the house or not. But at the same time, he would offer up any information or advice we asked. We looked a lot of homes. Our experience with actually bidding and buying our new home was a very odd one. The first 2 homes we put bids in on had multiple offers and came down to highest and best. Mike helped us to provide our best offer possible. Both of those homes did not end in our favor. When we came across the 3rd home, we knew what was going to happen and were able to get in, see the house, and make and offer and eventually closed on the house. I feel like everything worked out for a reason because I feel like we ended up in the best home in the best location. Mike was SOO patient throughout the process and did really good job of communicating with us. He is very knowledgeable and obviously loves his job. He did not pressure us into making decisions and really went above and beyond to help us get our new home. He was always quick to respond whether it was a phone call, text, or email. And, to top it all of, he is just a really really nice person and he is easy to work with. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone in need of a realtor. Thank you Mike for all of your hard work! We LOVE our new home!

 + -1 moreFirst and foremost note that Mike does not have one negative review - can't say that about Kristie or others on Angie's. Mike is everything he says and with his price you could never get what he provides in my opinion from any other realtor - this was not our first transaction. From day one Mike had a prospective HUD listing our forecast fees. Mike also did not focus on our net profit from our current mortgage balance but rather our total investment. Note to all - this is the biggest trick in the book selling agents use - net using your current mortgage balance - and do not want to even have you look at the big picture. Mike brought that to us first - we did not have to ask. Speaks volume for his integrity and having our best interests first and foremost. When someone does that you can then see why these reviews of Mike cannot be matched on this site. We were told by everyone - showings would be slow during November, December, January and all the holidays. Every realtor except Mike set the bar low for expectations - yet everyone wanted the listing because of location location location. Mike went to work from day one - his photographer was professional and accurate and we had over 30 showings in a time frame others said we be lucky to get 10 before April. Mikes hardwork attributes to those showings, offers and interest. Most importantly Mike did the work not expecting us to spend a large investment and most importantly Mike understood our need to sell quick and he consistently worked hard for us. Critical was his availability - always by phone I can think of only 2 times he did not answer and responded to a voicemail immediately as soon as we was available. We were out of town yet Mike always ensured our house was show ready and checking on the property daily regardless if a showing was scheduled or not. We trusted Mike so much that at closing we gave mike power of attorney so we did not even attend the closing. That speaks volumes on how he earned that amount of trust in less than a 2 month period.
Description of Work: Mike Puckett was our agent we listed our home with as we were leaving the area due to transfers as we are both physicians. Our home was located in an exclusive Brownsburg, sub division. Home was built in 1971. We did our homework and interviewed four prospective realtors for our listing - we interviewed a realtor from Carpenter Reality from the Brownsburg office, a mother son team from Avon, Kristie Smith who is often reviewed on Angie's List and Mike Puckett. After our interviews Carpenter was removed first from our process the agent was unimpressive and basically tried to sell the company as the biggest asset listing with Carpenter. Unimpressed with a PowerPoint presentation when I wanted to know the abilities of the agent not the size of their web site. Avon team was professional and impressive but worried about their small size and experience. Their presentation was awkward at times. Came down between Smith and Puckett. Kristie appeared aggressive and clearly handles and makes her money on volume of sales. Biggest concerns with Kristie were two - 1. we felt her pricing of our home was low 2. Kristie felt he had to do some major painting including interior, exterior, and carpet replacement upstairs. Appeared to us that Kristie Smith wanted us to do all the work invest 10k in the house and really at her suggested listing price our house would have sold in 1 week and we would have suffered a net loss. Also had concerns with a couple of reviews regarding Kristie that at times she was unavailable and others had to deal with her staff rather than her. I made this point to Kristie and she appeared to answer honestly saying she focuses on her strengths and does utilize her team and at times she may not be involved" all the time" or always "be available" in our process of selling our home. Mike's interview was much of what others have said on Angie's List and more. Refreshing for us that a realtor actually talked about honest communications even if it was things we may not want to hear in the process, Mike's availability due to his workload, experience, and his percentage price as listing agent was significantly less .5 - 1% of the other 3 realtors which is significant. We decided to list with Mike and within 24 hours we were listed during the week before Thanksgiving. We closed our home in less than 60 days considering all holidays. More importantly the home was sold for 2,000 less than our listing price and 14,000 more than Kristie Smith's suggested listing price - can I say anything more?

 + -1 moreWe accepted an offer on our house in NC in April or May. We came to Indiana, and Mike showed us several houses that fit our wants and needs. He even worked to find places with mature trees. But, that offer fell through, so we were back to waiting. Finally, we had an offer and we found out our house in North Carolina was going to close the last week of December. Because the first offer fell through, it was difficult to feel that we could commit to a house in Indiana, while waiting for closing in NC. But, we had contacted Mike and he was ready for us to come in. He gave us tips on choosing a home in this area that would fit our needs, lined up houses to go and see, and talked my husband through the mortgage process in Indiana. The holiday season is not a good time to have to find a home, but Mike it easy on this end. Since the house in North Carolina was up and down until the last minute, we needed security on the Indiana end that things would work out smoothly. Our first time buyers in North Carolina had paperwork issues, and we were signing papers there until the last minute. On this end, Mike was getting us through the inspection and issues without the constant needs that were happening in North Carolina. Even when we wanted to see houses that our daughter-in-law found on-line a little before 10 PM, we were able to see those houses the next day. Mike even arranged a second showing for the top two, which was no easy fete. We went back to finish up in North Carolina knowing that we had a house we liked and felt good about. From start to paper signing, the help we had in Mike made it possible to buy a house in the middle of Christmas, and feel like we had made a choice that would last us many years. We are really happy with our choice.
Description of Work: Mike helped us find houses, and showed us houses we saw on-line. He saw to it that we saw the houses, and revisited our top two in the short, short time we had to locate and buy a home. We felt like his input was the defining factor in buying the right house.

When we found Mike on Angie's List we were proven wrong. He is not just a good agent, but the best in the city. From start to finish he was able to help us buy our home using a common sense and analytical approach. His negotiating skills are excellent and his confidence was unshaken.  + -1 moreI chose Mike Puckett among 3 realtors that we interviewed who were on Angie's "A" list for the city of Carmel because of his easy going personality and honesty. During his visits (very casual and comfortable), we discussed the marketing plan, associated costs, and other aspects of selling our home. He scheduled 2 open houses. He marketed our house on several websites, including the MLS. As soon as the house was listed, I had several appointments to view it. When we needed to make some upgrades to the house, Mike took care of all the details. Mike is very easily accessible by phone or email and always called me back very promptly with answers to my questions. For the closing, I was of out town and Mike represented me and the closing went very smoothly without any problems. Overall, I would definitely recommend Mike Puckett.
Description of Work: Mike listed, promoted, and sold my house in Carmel, IN. He took many very nice photos of my property and used them to market the house online in the most advantageous manner. Description of Work: We just happened to see a home online that was listed by Mr. Puckett. We asked him if he can show us the home and he agreed. We had no current agreement with any other agents. We liked his professionalism and knowledge in the market. We did not end up buying the house that Mr. Puckett showed us. He was not biased at all and didn't pressure us once into buying the house. He recognized our wants and needs and let us talk with family and discuss everything. Oddly enough when we went to see this house my mother-in-law came with us and Mr. Puckett was her realtor when she bought her house several months earlier. (small world) With her good review of Mr. Puckett and our good experience with him we decided to have him be our realtor. He sent us a lot of potential homes that met our criteria. We looked a lot and end up seeing a house online we liked and he scheduled an appointment for us to see it. After a few visits we wanted it to make an offer. We ended up agreeing to terms and went under contract. The only speed bump in the whole home buying process was with the bank getting the closing date organized with everyone in a timely manner. The seller began to get frustrated and according to the terms in the contract they could have backed out. Mr. Puckett went above and beyond and got everything worked out and coordinated HIMSELF a mutual meeting point for closing. We were able to get our home because of HIS persistance and hard work.  + -1 moreAfter accepting a new position in the Indianapolis area, a co-worker referred us to Mike. She had recently used his services to purchase her new home. While still living out of state, Mike made arrangements to meet us one weekend to look at houses. After looking at several houses that day, we didn't see anything we liked; and we made arrangements to meet w/Mike after we got moved over in the next few weeks. Once moved, we called Mike and again made arrangements to see several homes. This time we found a short sale we were interested in, and though Mike cautiously advised us that short sales can be difficult, he supported us in our decision to move forward with an offer as the home seemed in good condition overall and the seller's agent seemed to have a handle on the short sale process. MIke managed all of the back and forth contact w/the seller's agent, trying to keep them on schedule and trying to keep them from making promises they couldn't keep. As Mike had cautioned throughout the process, short sales can be difficult; and this one certainly lived up to the hype. After 3 months of back and forth and 3 separate scheduled close dates, we decided to walk away from the house and Mike supported this decision and handled all of the paperwork necessary to get us out of the deal as quickly as possible. So once again we started the home search, and Mike was there encouraging us that we would find the right house--and we did! This time we stayed away from any short sales and found the perfect house rather quickly, and the home buying process was virtually effortless. Considering the housing market, the prospects were not great and Mike prepared us for all possible outcomes. Our house was sold in 13 months, for a price that was pretty good, all factors considered. Mike was very accessible, by phone or email--returning calls, answering questions, making us aware of possible "bumps" in the process, and offering advice. A few weeks before closing, a last minute question arose on our house, regarding some potential repairs that would have cost us $3000-$5000. Mike successfully worked to help us avoid this extra, last minute expense. Mike was always very honest and kept his word. He was on vacation a week and a half before closing but still kept us informed of how the process was going. We highly recommend Mike Puckett if you need a Realtor in the Indianapolis area.

He was very patient and answered all of our first time home buying questions! We didn't have a lot of understanding about the home buying process. Mike has had a lot of experience in real estate, and he was able to explain everything to us in a way that we could understand. After seeing a house, he would always ask what our thoughts were, but he never asked us if we wanted to put an offer down. We really appreciated that about him, because we never once felt pressured into buying a house. Mike also worked with us within our budget. We were pre-approved for a price considerably higher than what we wanted to spend. Mike never once tried to push us outside the price that we gave. We had a really good time working with Mike.

 + -1 moreA patient and dog friendly Realtor. We chose Mike Puckett from descriptions of his services on his website. As a get to know him visit, he agreed to meet us in a park with our dog. We were relocating from Chicago and were not familiar with the area. We had a very large search area for a home, a large price range we over which we were looking, and a wide search range in terms of home features that could work. We also had the challenge of having an energetic, challenging (spooked by some people) dog that we wanted to take along with us because we were visiting from out of town on our house hunts. Mike was very accommodating of us and our dog. He spent long days with us, stopped for lunches in the park, never complained about having the dog along. He just opened the hatch back of his car and invited our dog in. Mike was very professional and patient during the house hunt. He has a great knowledge of Indianapolis and found us a great house.

Mike completely took care of us throughout our home search. He offered us a place to stay while we were in town, picked us up at our hotel, and provided detailed binders outlining the 20+ homes he was taking us to see over the weekend. Our favorite quote of Mike is, "I may be 66, but I'll wear you out!" He has great energy and thankfully scheduled in rest times and times for meals - very important because I was pregnant at the time - and even took us back to his beautiful home to allow me to nap. We ended up finding a lovely home in a great neighborhood that was just right for us in all aspects. Mike was extremely patient, kind, and generous with his time, energy, and resources. HIs sense of humor definitely made a stressful weekend much more tolerable. It was clear to us that he loves what he does and enjoys taking care of his clients well. He was professional at all times, yet allowed us to get to know him, which we enjoyed. When we found a few homes we were really interested in, Mike was very helpful and patient while we considered them. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Indianapolis area and guided us towards areas and neighborhoods that fit us and our lifestyle - this was very comforting for us because we had not been to Indy before, nor did we know anyone in the city. During negotiations Mike was direct and quick. He responded great to our feedback and was extremely patient with us as we changed our minds several times. Ultimately he helped us find the perfect home at the price we wanted to pay. We will use him again and recommend him highly for buyers.

 + -1 moreWe first met with Mike in the summer of 2010, and discussed with him the options of placing the house on the market then vs waiting until this Spring. Mike helped us to recognize that it would be in our best interest to delay until Spring for a variety of reasons. Meanwhile, on Mike's recommendation, we had the house inspected and had the deficiencies repaired. Mike did not pester us whatsoever in the interim, and when we called him this Spring he immediately swung into action, arranged for pictures and sell sheets, and got our home on the market within days after we contacted him. Mike stayed on top of every showing, provided the feedback from those who viewed the house, and successfully guided the sales process when an offer was made. He also was instrumental in resolving questions from the buyers' inspection. He provided excellent liaison with the title company to get all the paperwork arranged for closing. We have dealt with many real estate agents over the years, and Mike is far and away the most professional and honest one we have ever had representing us. My one regret is that he will not be available as we purchase a house in the state we are moving to.
Description of Work: Mike represented us in the sale of our home. He counseled us wisely on the pricing, having a pre-inspection and staging the house for viewing. His marketing of the home was effective and the photographs were terrific. He answered all calls in a timely fashion and kept us aware of feedback. When it came time for negotiating he was ever the gentlemen and yet a real pro. The results were that the house sold after only about 3 weeks on the market, and within 2% of the asking price. We could not have asked for better results or a better realtor to work with.

My husband and I were looking for a home in Indianapolis, we were not really quite sure where we wanted to locate or what type of house we were looking for and we found the best Realtor for that task. Mike was very knowledgeable of the city, neighborhoods and what his clients may be interested in but what I liked most was his honesty. Many times in our search we would ask Mike's opinion on a property and he always gave us his honest opinion. He knows what to look for and would never want to sell a property to someone that he felt wasn't right for his client. Needless to say we found the perfect home for us in an area we just adore and I believe we have Mike to thank for that. I would highly recommend Mike Puckett if you are in the market for a Realtor.

In late March we put our home on the market and it was sold within 10 days. I believe the quick sale was due to the marketing of the home by Mike. Not only is he a great realtor but he also surrounds himself with wonderful people to make the process go smooth. He has a great photographer, and recommended a wonderful home inspector & loan officer, he really knows the right people to get things done right and they were all wonderful to work with as well.  + -1 moreMike was referred to us by a family member. Mike represented my wife's parents when they sold and purchased their last two homes. Needless to say, they always have our best interest at heart, and for this they had no hesitation when they found out that we were interested in purchasing a retreat home, they said, "you need to call Mike." We had never purchased a second home, so, we had several questions for Mike. Mike was very patient with us! Mike and his team spent significant time working with us and asking us questions regarding what would be the ideal retreat home for our family. Throughout the process, Mike seemed more interested in ensuring that the cabin and property would be ideal for our family, versus just trying to sell us a house. He even provided us with some tips on finding or building the right fishing pond and wanted to make sure we had that type of information readily available before we made a decision. Mike and his team researched available homes based on our desired criteria. Mike then went with us on several trips to Brown County. Mike did not at any time make us feel like we were putting him out by making all of those trips to the country. He constantly reminded us that we were looking for that special retreat, and once we found it, we would know it. Well, we did find the cabin/property that we were looking for and Mike was a huge help in making arrangements to meet the sellers and walk the property lines. The sellers were wonderful people, and Mike really helped to facilitate the whole experience. We could not be any happier! I guess I would provide the same advice my father-in-law gave to me ... if you are looking at buying or selling a home "you need to call Mike!"

After going through the process with Mike Puckett I couldn't believe how relatively easy he had made the process, and how glad I was to have went through it with him. Mike is very prompt and to the point and couldn't have been more honest with me during the process. He made me feel very comfortable in that I knew I could trust his opinion and that he was being 100% truthful with me at all times. Mike always answered any questions or concerns I had, and did so in a very prompt fashion, and I felt as though he was on call for me and willing to do anything to help me out, which is far from what I've heard about a lot of other people's experiences. I had a lot going on with work and the birth of a newborn, and informed Mike that I needed to be quick during the process, and he more than catered to my needs as a buyer. I would recommend Mike as a realtor to anyone who is ready to purchase a home, I still keep in contact with Mike and consider him a new friend and I was more than glad that I had listened to those that had steered me his way. After the purchase of my house his friendship and loyalty has not ended there, as he's answered questions that I have had recently and helped give me information on great people to use in fixing up homes, cleaning, and maintenance, and I've always been more than pleased with the people he has turned me on to. I'm very thankful that I used Mike as I sit here in my beautiful home with a new piece of mind, and I'm forever thankful to Mike and the excellent work that he did.
Description of Work: Mike represented me in searching and purchasing a home. He did all the research on the internet, and gave me an abundance of homes to choose from in my price range in the locations I was looking to move into. He drove me around and showed me homes as I chose many houses to look at, and also helped me with finding information such as estimated utility costs, crime statistics, and estimated costs of repairs on certain homes with suggestions of highly recommended people to service certain issues. He is very knowledgeable and in tune with the market and gave me a lot of great insight and information. It also seemed as though he was always available in the little time slots that I was allowing him to show me around which was more than impressive with my hectic schedule, and this helped speed up the process which was very crucial to me.

He was available to meet soon after we contacted him, and he spent an hour talking to us about what he offers, his experience ? including his career before realty and what led him to the business ? and his specialties. He also helped explain what we should expect, as this was our first home purchase. He was very well qualified and obviously educated on local and national real estate trends. We ended up choosing another Realtor who was a little more familiar with the neighborhoods and price range we were looking in, but we'd still definitely recommend Mike to friends or others.

When we sold our house we paid their fee and we bought our current home we used him, but there was no fee. The experience with him was great, he picked us up, drove us around, provided all the proper information for us, helped us understand mortgages and helped us understand market conditions of the property we were looking at. He walked through with the inspector and took care of everything, we had no worries whatsoever. His friendliness was wonderful, he's just an easy person to work with, get to know and talk with. His professionalism was outstanding. His knowledge of the market conditions and what we were doing as far as housing was excellent. Everything was on a very timely basis, we really had zero issues. He was what we called "Johnny on the spot" for what our service needs were and what we were looking for. We've recommended him several times.

I decided to call him after seeing a property that I was interested in viewing, and I'm glad I did. After looking for a new home on my own for months with no success, the process became very frustrating. However, once I hooked up with Mike the process soon came together and he helped me to find the home of my dreams. He's an Agent that I could call at the drop of a dime, and he would meet me for a showing if he was available. He's extremely professional, knowledgeable, and most of all honest. Some Realtors tell you what they think you want to hear in order to sell a home at all cost, but NOT Mike. He's committed to his work and goes above and beyond for his clients. Description of Work: Mike helped us every step of the way. Mike was there at the very beginning of our home search helping us to narrow down our search criteria and scheduling appointments in a time-saving fashion. Mike always notified us of all current and newly listed homes on the market and drove with us all over the west side of Indy looking at many, many homes.  + -1 moreI was living out of state and trying to plan a move to the Indianapolis area. I called and interviewed three Realtors. Of the three I felt that Mike was the most genuine and had a feeling that he really wanted more than my business, that he truly wanted to help me find a home and would be willing to spend the time to help me with my unique situation. This turned out to be true. Being out of state was a challenge and he worked with my scheduled visits to show me homes. After a home was found and an offer made, he did absolutely everything he could to make the process less stressful for me. For instance, we encountered an issue with an underground oil tank and he spent an entire day calling various environmental agencies and tank companies to find out how to properly handle the situation, and made sure the problem was addressed to my satisfaction by the sellers. Additionally, he went back to the house with a handyman to inspect post-inspection work. I never felt like I didn't know what was going on even though I was 1000 miles away. After I closed on the home and moved in, Mike continued to call and check on me and has come through for me more than once. Being entirely new to an area can be intimidating, especially when things go wrong. In one day, right after we moved in, I found myself with a very sick child and an unexpected leak on the porch during a heavy rain. I had called him about the leak to see if he could give me a name of someone trustworthy and during the phone call I mentioned my sick daughter and that I had tried to make appointments with three local pediatricians, but no one would see her until they received records from her doctor. An hour later I got a call from a friend of his that was an ER pediatrician who helped me talk through her symptoms and find a doctor that could see me that evening. Additionally he had his handyman get in touch with me and he came in the next couple days to fix the problems on the porch. Mike has been not only completely professional and helpful, but truly kind and thoughtful. He went well beyond what I believe most buyer's agents would do and he did so repeatedly and never once did I feel like my needs or concerns were an inconvenience. I have told my friends how pleased I am with my choice of Realtors and I would absolutely recommend Mike Puckett.
