MEES TILE & MARBLE

I ordered a marble vanity top with porcelain bowl (bowl to be installed by Mees) and I would pick up at the store. The vanity was ordered in Indianapolis, but the Mees fabrication site is in Louisville. The first top had a chip in it and was rejected by Sam in Indianapolis. It also didn't have the bowl installed, and Sam explained the marble was fragile and they would glue the bowl in locally. Based on Sam's comment, I asked that he change my order to deliver the top to my residence. With a small additional fee, he agreed. The second top was delivered to me after the bowl was glued in. However, the backsplash had a defect, so I accepted the vanity and sidesplash. The next backsplash cracked during delivery from Louisville. The next backsplash's color didn't match. The next backsplash was rejected by Sam for a defect. The last backsplash was fine! I was very pleased with the efforts made by Sam and others at Mees to assure I was satisfied with their product.

The job went beautifully and I love my granite countertops. It was necessary for us to have cabinets set before templating could be done and then wait another 2 weeks or so for actual installation. The final result is well worth it. Company was very professional and helpful from in store estimate and selection of granite to templating and installation. Highly recommend.

WHEN THEY CAME TO INSTALL IT ON 1/15 THEY HAD LEFT OFF A SECTION OF THE TABLETOP. I HAD TO CALL THEM BACK TO LET THEM KNOW THEY HAD LEFT IT OFF BECAUSE THEY DID NOT NOTICE IT THEMSELVES. WHEN THEY CAME BACK OUT THEY HAD A DIFFERENT TYPE OF GRANITE. THEY INSTALLED THE DIFFERENT GRANITE IN THE SECTION THEY HAD LEFT OFF AND IT DOES NOT MATCH. THEY ASKED ME TO PAY THE BALANCE DUE AND I SAID I'M NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THE WORK UNTIL THEY INSTALL THE CORRECT GRANITE. I AM NOT REFUSING TO PAY THEM, I JUST WANT THEM TO INSTALL THE CORRECT GRANITE. I DON'T CARE IF THEY HAVE TO COME OUT SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT DONE RIGHT, I JUST WANT THE GRANITE TO MATCH. THEY HAVE OFFERED ME $100 OFF THE TOTAL FEE AND THEY HAVE THREATENED TO PUT A LIEN ON MY HOUSE IF I DO NOT PAY. I JUST WANT THE WORK DONE CORRECTLY OR FAIR COMPENSATION. $100 OFF IS NOT FAIR COMPENSATION CONSIDERING THE WORK COST $5000.

Eric Sauer, Sales Representative, from Mees Tile & Marble, did a superb job in coordinating our multiple projects. He went out of his way to ensure total customer satisfaction. The prices were also substantially below other stores. He has made it virtually impossible for us to ever consider another marble/granite competitor.

Upon the recommendation of our remodeler, we used Mees as the supplier of two stone countertops and some slate floor tile for a bathroom remodeling. The local people at Mees were very helpful during the selection process. The slate flooring was delivered as ordered and looks great. However, one of the stone countertops was delivered from Mees' out-of-town headquarters with the cutout for the sink in the wrong place, and the other stone countertop was delivered from Mees' headquarters with a poorly cut and finished sink cutout. Mees agreed to replace the first countertop, and sent a person out to "fix" the problem with the second countertop. After several attempts to fix the problem, Mees agreed that the second top should be replaced as well. Both tops have now been replaced and they look good.

THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE LOCAL MEES PEOPLE HERE ARE MIDDLEMEN FOR THE COMPANY IN LOUISVILLE, KY, SO I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I HAD ANY DIRECT CONNECTION WITH THE COMPANY. I HAD MORE TROUBLE WITH THE HEAD OFFICE THAN WITH THE LOCAL PEOPLE. NEXT TIME I WILL GET A LOCAL COMPANY.
